Good demonstration of how the right members make the band. Stewart Copeland is just out of the world amazing.

Stings bassline in the verse is weird but very cool.

I think Sting is slightly behind the bit at the beginning but on the ending part he is exactly on the bit. What do you think?

@@BigDAdi Too bad you weren’t present in the studio to help Sting by showing him how to correctly play this song. Maybe your agent can contact him and you can you lay down the proper bass track yourself, and only then will this song get the praise it deserves.

@@neoretro5328 Ha ha you're right, Sting is great, I'm just trying to understand what's going on and maybe one day I'll be better than him,😄 who knows?

@@BigDAdi He is singing over that part, it's likely him playing behind the beat to go with the flow of the vocal line. Or he usually sings over that and this is a D.I. track recoded in the control room with headphones on, and he's sitting, he maybe just had a smoke and a sip of tea....ect, all kinds of things he would not normally be doing, including repeating the same song, this is probably take 2 of three or four, (we all know how you can forget what verse you are playing along too when you re_record something a few times in a row) no punch in's this is Tape and probably no metronome either, that's solely on Stewart shoulders to keep time. and breaking the routine even more not playing his whole part, just the Bass.
      Good ear.

The dummer was always doing the most with this band lol always being extra. I dont mind becauee im a drummer but like wow! Its like they just let him do whatever he wants at all times.

Wow, didn't suss that the bassline part of "I'll sing an SOS to the world" part of the chorus sounds like a slowed down "Blitzkreig Bop" by The Ramones
