There’s an old an pretty famous restaurant in San Francisco called The House of Prime Rib and they offer a red beet horseradish which is where I first experienced this gem of a condiment. If you like horseradish (as I do) you will love this! Blessings
Looks delish LeAnne I will try it this summer. I wish we could get one of those choppy things you have that would save a lot of time and my arthritic shoulders too!! God bless xx💜
Those choppy things are well worth the money. I have 2. They both chop a little different. Saves so much time and the best part both of mine are dishwasher safe.
I believe I have in my amazon storefront or a link to one in my video I did a review on it about a year ago already! a.co/d/fhh5ikT here is the link to the chopper
That looks delicious. I will definitely have to try that. I do have the book, but the visual is always better. Thank you for the RUclips content makers. Thank you LeAnne.
Hi LeAnn! I’ve got that book and I will look up that recipe. I bet this would be so yummy on a roast. I know they serve horseradish with prime rib, I just can’t eat my meat that rare...I’m a well done gal, lol. Have a blessed night and hope everyone is doing well.
Save this recipe about 20 or 25 years ago a neighbor gave me two little jars of this for a Christmas gift and I wanted to eat it on all meat baked potatoes soup beans and she also told me you could mix up gelatin mixture with some fresh onions and celery and put it in there and have it like with Christmas roast or something that's what her family always did. I really think that would be a delightful. I couldn't see on the video what book that one came out of. This sounds like it would be very similar to the recipe that what I got was made by the difference would be the onions and the beets were coarse shred. I think I may have found the recipe it was slightly sweet but just had a really good flavor to it. By the way on the leftovers from all roast or something with that are super good on baked potatoes
Love beets, love horseradish. I canned this last year. None of us liked it. still have 5 jars in the pantry. Lol Love watching you Can, so still awesome video. Have a blessed night.
This looks like an incredible way to eat beets. They’re not my favorite but I tolerate them. I think this adds some great flavor to them! Thanks! I agree. Ball can be confusing especially for newbies! Heck I’d be thinking red peppercorns also.
I will have to try this. It looks delicious. I just canned a triple batch of the zucchini relish in the Ball book, because I know I'll be giving some to family members. It's really good.
That looks delicious 👏. Can you grow Horseradish in your area? Is makes lovely sauce when homemade, I used keep small jars and reuse them filled with savoury relish, chutney, jams, pickles ect & give as gifts in small bags, baskets, boxes, I purchased from charity shop (Thrift store) a nice tag made with old gift cards & a bit of string. If you want to fancy them up old material washed and cut up into circles with pinking scissors make lovely decorations for the top. Really appreciated by everyone who received a package. Made & given with love.
That certainly looks delicious. I have that book also and have tried a few recipes from it . There are some very interesting looking recipes it there. Keep us updated as you try them . You can go before us to let us know which ones are yummy . Lol 😂
Looks amazing and I cant wait to be able to save the money get this book,. Might take me a few to get it cause $800 a month doesnt go far but I am saving for right now..
No, I believe it’s a walla walla or Spanish yellow onion. Our candy onions didn’t do well where we planted them. Yes candy onions are supposed to be really good.
LeAnn it’s been a while since I’ve been physically able to watch. I love your channel and really missed watching your work. I watched your red-velvet whoopie pies before this one. Seems to be a color scheme I’m following. 😂😂 I personally love beets as does my husband. One way that is a favorite is oven roasted beets. They’re so delicious. Could you please tell us what you do with your beet greens? I would be very interested.
Vickie, I’m glad you are back. I actually compose the beet greens but I do pressure can Swiss chard and use it in dishes that spinach should be. Spinach doesn’t grow well here But Swiss chard is prolific.
I was just thinking, this would be a good pickle for whole small beets as well. I bet that would be good and when the beets got low enough add some boiled eggs.
Yummy it looks delicious I wish I would of seen this earlier I just canned 8 pints of pickled beets last night oh well I will try it when we harvest our fall crop. Your onion was huge mine are kinda small this year what's your secret
The seed starts were from Dixiondale Farms. Before this year, they were never half this size. I have to grow long day onions since I’m in Pennsylvania.
Nobody here likes horseradish except me and they barely tolerate beets. So I guess I’ll put mine up in 8 oz jars. Sounds wonderful to me and looks gorgeous!
Joy that's what I almost did with this batch because I wasn't sure I would want to eat it but after how husband was chowing down I'm sure it will get used up!
That would alter the recipe and might not turn out the way you like it. I would just make half the recipe and refrigerate it. I’m sure it would keep a month because of the vinegar.
I haven’t tried it yet but my husband tried what I didn’t can and he said it was pretty good. Maybe I will do a video in a few weeks of us trying when it’s sat for awhile.
Made it today. It is wonderful! Been looking for something new to make than just pickled beets. Thanks LeAnne!
Yay!
You actually make it look pretty good, LeAnne! Happy Birthday!
Yes! Thank you!
Hello LeAnne! Right on time girl. I’m ready to make relish!

This looks like an incredible way to eat beets. They’re not my favorite but I tolerate them. I think this adds some great flavor to them! Thanks! I agree. Ball can be confusing especially for newbies! Heck I’d be thinking red peppercorns also.

Yummy! I love all things beet. We will definitely try this.
Hope you enjoy
LeAnne,... Great job and I like you apron! Thank you sharing.
Thanks Vickie! I love the pattern of this apron and need to make more like this if I can find the right fabric.
I will have to try this. It looks delicious. I just canned a triple batch of the zucchini relish in the Ball book, because I know I'll be giving some to family members. It's really good.
That’s great! I make it every year as well!!
Thanks for sharing this recipe. I’ll be making this

Yes I can grow horseradish in my area. My folks do grow it. I just haven’t been that inspired to do it. My husband loves it.
That certainly looks delicious. I have that book also and have tried a few recipes from it . There are some very interesting looking recipes it there. Keep us updated as you try them . You can go before us to let us know which ones are yummy . Lol 😂

Happy Birthday Honey 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks Donna Sweetie!
Gonna have to give this one a try. Now let's stare at the lid until it pops. 😂 You know I've been there! 😉
Yes! not sure if watching lids is fun but glad when they do! Thanks for watching!
Hi LeAnne, this relish looks delicious. My question is what type of food would you serve this with? Thanks! God Bless!
I would use in a spinach salad with blue cheese crumble and walnuts or as a burger topping or over a medium steak.
So may You Tubers are talking about how good those For Jars lids are. Have you tried them?
Not yet but they are supposedly sending some for me to try. I will give my honest opinion because you know I will.
Nobody here likes horseradish except me and they barely tolerate beets. So I guess I’ll put mine up in 8 oz jars. Sounds wonderful to me and looks gorgeous!

LeAnne, we saw a jar or horseradish with honey and mustard in it. Can you add honey to canning or does it alter the recipe some how.
That would alter the recipe and might not turn out the way you like it. I would just make half the recipe and refrigerate it. I’m sure it would keep a month because of the vinegar.
❤️
Is this something you think you'd can every year? Did you like it?
I haven’t tried it yet but my husband tried what I didn’t can and he said it was pretty good. Maybe I will do a video in a few weeks of us trying when it’s sat for awhile.
So will there be more beets in your future soon?
I haven’t really even started to pick the beets yet!
Can you hot water bath corn?
No you can’t. It’s a low acid food. I prefer my sweet corn frozen.
I love that cutter. I wasted so much time before cutting.
Shelia you are not the only that mention this in this video. This is the link to the chopper that I have it's $19.99 right now. a.co/d/fhh5ikT
You’re a hoot Leeann!“ ...because we don’t need sharks in our oceans here!”
Thanks Anita!
Those look good, but I'm the only one who likes beets in my family.
I didn't care for them until I got all grown up! lol
