When I became a widow I decided to get Simplisafe for my security system. Only $30 per month, my home is secure both day and night 24/7. And, if I have a medical emergency I placed panic buttons throughout the house just in case I am to sick or hurt to get to my cellphone. I also installed camera's outside and inside of my home. Camera's are a great deterrent to keep the burglars away. One last thing I installed was a driveway alarm. It will alert me when someone is coming up my long driveway. *Stop wasting your time complaining* “People visit a wise man complaining about the same problems over and over again. One day, he decided to tell them a joke and they all roared with laughter. After a few minutes, he told them the same joke and only a few of them smiled. Then he told the same joke for a third time, but no one laughed or smiled anymore. The wise man smiled and said: ‘You can’t laugh at the same joke over and over. So why are you always crying about the same problem?'” Instead of complaining, seek solution May Your Day Be Blessed!
Criminals don't like too much work because they want to be in and out quickly. There are types of windows that are very difficult to break through even with repeated strikes with a cinder block! Hanson's is a company that has them, if I'm not mistaken.
I got a full security system from ADT with every door and window connected to the police and surveillance cameras in and outside the home. I’m paying about $50 a month. Well worth it!
My 2 cents... I like to keep my house looking the same on the outside - so people can't tell whether I am home or not. Cars are always parked in the garage. I don't put porch lights on at night - because normally people turn them off in the day. If you are gone for a few days, either the lights are left on all day or they are off all night. In other words, the pattern of normalcy is broken. I do have timed landscape lighting that is always on at night.

On the downside, she'll still be there when you return from your vacation...
One thing people often don't think of as a security measure is a reputable pet sitting service. (If you have pets and are on holiday of course.) They will come to your home up to twice a day and do things like collect the mail, turn lights on/off, pull curtains etc. The agency will have done police checks and character references so that shouldn't be an issue. Of course the most important thing is that they feed your pets and keep them company, but their presence every day makes the house look lived in, as it were. Or housesitters will do all the above in exchange for living there rent free. Just a thought.
I don't even lock. Of course I lived in a lot of places where it was necessary. But I found them to be places unsuitable for life and I moved. The best choice :)

Do Not Put anything on the outside of your house that signals you are alone, everybody had seen this video by now and the crooks know it. Use thorn bushes otherwise they can hide behind them, better no bushes at all.
Take your precautions INDOORS. Logic dictates if a perp has eyed your property as a potential hit? They're coming in. Personally, I have a variety of potential (and actual) weapons strategically placed about my home. I can access them simply by moving throughout any room. While it's born of OCD made rampant by other underlying issues.. I'll certainly messy up someone's day if they choose to pop in uninvited *for the record: it works. I've had 2 attempted break-ins in which both parties gained access to the inside whilst my (now grown) daughters slept.
I highly recommend a surveillance system and a ring doorbell camera. One where you can talk both ways when you're away. I am here in my home watching RUclips while watching the monitor.

I have Christmas bells (left up all year long )on front and back door. All doors and windows locked BEFORE dark -even when it gets dark at 5:00 pm-never answer a knock at the door unless expected and prearranged . Sad we have to live like this ,but there are desperate and addicted people constantly at prey of others.
*Stop wasting your time complaining*
“People visit a wise man complaining about the same problems over and over again.
So why are you always crying about the same problem?'”
Instead of complaining, seek solution
May Your Day Be Blessed!
Criminals don't like too much work because they want to be in and out quickly. There are types of windows that are very difficult to break through even with repeated strikes with a cinder block! Hanson's is a company that has them, if I'm not mistaken.
Security film. Very hard to break thru.
If you put dog food out then your inviting rats, raccoons and other animals to your property. What deters the robbers is the actual bark.
He said put a Dog Bowl Out. He did Not Say a Dogbowl with food in it.
I used to put Nova on my door. He was a 153 pound Great Dane. I pity a stranger who “encounters” a Great Dane in the dark.
I got a full security system from ADT with every door and window connected to the police and surveillance cameras in and outside the home. I’m paying about $50 a month. Well worth it!
The delivery guy kicking the package tho😁😁😁😁😁
Thank you for the very practical and affordable tips for home security ❤
This may be a bit to much for a 1 night holiday but you can never be sure 😅
My 2 cents... I like to keep my house looking the same on the outside - so people can't tell whether I am home or not.
Cars are always parked in the garage. I don't put porch lights on at night - because normally people turn them off in the day.
If you are gone for a few days, either the lights are left on all day or they are off all night. In other words, the pattern of normalcy is broken. I do have timed landscape lighting that is always on at night.
My wife has some small bells attached to the bag zip on her mobility scooter to warn of pick pockets. Handed out by local community police(UK).
If someone wants something that they know is in your house, they will get to it. This is what former thieves and burglers have openly said before.
Anyone familiar with security would know that this just isn't the way.
😂😂😂
Or if you live in brooklyn New York you will despise this video for sure
Dear Adam Fisher: We're praying that the RUclipsr can mislead the criminals with this folly.
Dear Adam Fisher: We're praying that the RUclipsr can mislead potential criminals by teaching this folly.
Great tips for all of us. I need all the help I can get....Thank you....
My NRA welcome mat has never failed 😀
Thanks Bright Side, I put the mug on my door handle.
But I need that foil to wear as a hat …
I use aluminum foil as a toilet paper substitute
@@Haywood-Jablomie no you don't, Chuck Norris does :)
@Malaka Spanikopita You're right, Chuck Norris can even swim on land !!!
Shh! They can hear us!
😂
What if a thief is watching this video right now 🤔
Then they will know the foil on the doorknob trick! 😁
Bring their own cup, cause you just broke the one they were gonna use?
Like you
What if?
Exactly Social media is the big snitches of everything they give those who want it heads up on pretty much everything and don't even care just want likes and MONEY shakes head
after birthdays and Christmas, make sure the boxes fr high value gifts are cut up and in the bin.
Whaatt???
If you have a recycling center nearby, that's another idea so the boxes aren't in the bins at all.
@@verasreckovic4443 He's saying that you shouldn't leave boxes from valuable items like a big screen t.v visible in the trash bin or on the curb. Don't leave boxes from Amazon purchases, either. Tear them up really small recycle and/or throw them away.
I've had a "beware of dog" sign on my door for yrs, even though I didn't have any, at that time. Def have dogs now, though.
If you use the Mug method, make sure it’s a mug you don’t care about because it might break.
I usually just leave dear mother-in-law behind when I am going on vacation. I assure you there is no more effective deterrent against would-be burglars! As an added bonus, she also keeps traveling salesmen, bible-thumping missionaries and nagging Halloween trick'r treaters at bay, all of whom usually flee in terror head over heels as soon as she answers the door bell. On the downside, she'll still be there when you return from your vacation...
I think my mother in law would scare anyone off if she was still here in 😅🤣😂
On balance, I'd rather be burgled personally!!
😅
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
BEST comment EVER!!! 😂😂😂👍
Agree
I've watched sooooo many videos of news shows where the animals get neglected, stolen, and pet sitters stealing,
I don't even lock. Of course I lived in a lot of places where it was necessary. But I found them to be places unsuitable for life and I moved. The best choice :)
This technic worked so well I started wrapping tinfoil around my head b4 bedtime and I've never felt safer!!!!😃
How much foil did you use when you ventured outside your house, as criminals are everywhere these days
Now that was the best one yet. You made my day.😁👍🏻
Dear James Joeright: Selassie! I guffawed: and got my gut to the ground. The gist is genius: getting up to show appreciation for your banter.
Which head (of the 2 or maybe even 3?) you did not say…😊
I have several timer switches..to randomly on off
Couple Pit bulls and 357 mag, won't be robbed😁
If it can be shown that you planned ahead, you WILL go to PRISON.
Only in ‘merica… 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
@@Rick-ih7wp not if they never find the bodies😂
I use a small wind chime on the door stopper on top.
I really like the mug on the door handle.
Just wondering how that wouldn't fall off
I don't have anything of value for a thief to want in my house.
Soooo.... If there's a doorknob with foil on it ... There's someone home alone? Great advice for home inaders.
I could imagine how much many mugs to used,go to dollar trees
I been away many times amd had timers on a few diff lamps in diff places in house and a tv on a timer, didnt get broken into once.
Worst case scenario, a burglar had already watching this video.
Lol
Lol right😂

He blocked the burglars
Wrong about dogs. I saw a video where the intruders offered the dog a treat and the dog was joyous to have them there…
But dogs can be teached to refuse food and treats from other people than their owner.
"Home Alone" taught me all I need to know about home defense, thank you very much.
We have CCTV, a house alarm, and safety bars that prevent someone from kicking the door open. And I have a personal protection trained GSD. If you get past that....shotgun.
The jailers are cracking up at this right now
@@worldview730really?
my structural integrity is doing just fine thank you
A burglar may get in my house. But I guarantee he won’t get out in the same condition.
Doesn’t the aluminum foil on the door just tell burglars that you don’t have a security system?
Great. Now I have to buy kibbles and bits for a dog I don’t even have.
Dog food left outdoors
will attract rats and
feral animals.
A tradesman used my toilet and I think he did check my structural integrity because 1 hour later my wall was missing from my kitchen that compromised it's structure
Did humans forget the Commandments? Thou shalt not steal.
Times have changed…not for the better
Yes, they forgot million years ago.
I'm sorry... you've been in that "coma" for a REALLY long time! 😂 No, in all seriousness, I get what you're saying but we live in a fallen world. 😢
Apparently they have.
U are absolutely right, how much I teach them at my place goes in deaf ears, told about thieves also keeps like cockroaches away , especially now when gets very hot at night. How much more power than a can of insect killer, especially who have no air conditioner we have windows open till late so they get easy excess when dark
Do Not Put anything on the outside of your house that signals you are alone, everybody had seen this video by now and the crooks know it. Use thorn bushes otherwise they can hide behind them, better no bushes at all.
What exactly signals that somebody is alone?
@@sagittariansage_2271 😂
A Pomeranian, chihuahua and pit mix are my burglar deterrents. A bird can’t fly past a window without us knowing. Lol!
I'll certainly messy up someone's day if they choose to pop in uninvited
*for the record: it works. I've had 2 attempted break-ins in which both parties gained access to the inside whilst my (now grown) daughters slept.
What happened to them when they broke in ?? What did you have in store for them?
Same to for the hood of the car. If the tape is tamped with someone tampered with your engine.
Knowing someone TRIED to get in may not be helpful if they succeeded.
I highly recommend a surveillance system and a ring doorbell camera. One where you can talk both ways when you're away. I am here in my home watching RUclips while watching the monitor.
I'm a fan of your channel, but you should (first off) identify the fact that the foil goes on the inside... (Secondly,) there is a difference between explaining what a person should do to avoid confrontation and actual information / tips.😬
