    Loved it. Replacement guy plays tasty melodic licks. Finally after so many years I get to hear Hysteria without the fricking sustain note and whammy tricks throughout all the damn song.

    Steve brown is definitely underrated in my opinion. His Trixter guitar parts are great. Blended both rhythms and lead well. He can even sing while doing flashy lick runs. Not alot of them can do so.

    For those wondering: The guy replacing Phil is Steve Brown (from Trixter) and he is a great player. Also, Viv is one of the best out there and is very technically sound (and is by far the most accomplished of all Def Leppard players). Press release states Phil has a family emergency, so hats off to him for keeping his priorities, to Steve Brown for helping out, and the band for continuing the show. It is cool to hear a different take on these tunes.

      James Lloyd ,I always wondered if Phil gave up some of the reigns when Viv came in. Vivian obviously was the only player on the first 2 Dio albums, his best in my opinion. I hate the name Trixter for a hard rock band. But hes a player.

      Slaughter70.......like but NO where near as good as Steve 'fingers' Stevens versitility wise and yeah he loves that Wolfie....he is a solid as guitarist very under rated and to now play a few times subbing he has not only as Elliot noted had to learn over a dozen guitar parts in a few days notice he's pinching himself too......love the bloke...Trixter's loss..

    • @Slaughter70
      @Slaughter70 6 лет назад +2

      Take it easy man, nobody is comparing Steve with Phil, he entered emergency less than 24 hours in advance... and he did good job

    • @williambroadstreet3353
      @williambroadstreet3353 6 лет назад

      Slaughter70.....apples and oranges bud. Both VERY different players, context is needed, it's ALL subjective, Collen is 'bigger' and has a longer legacy but as opposed to Steve being more of a hired gun while also settled with his own band. I see NO reason to make an issue out of it.
      And thanks for the update on Collen, always good to know what's up when he's not missed a live show I think....mate I''m sweet as...dunno why 'I' need to as you claim "relax"....LOL....thanks anyway. Solid.

      GS HYBR1D....you DO realise pretty much ALL of this was penned/written and the actual chord construction of riffs/bends/melodies and hooks...and oozing rock star dazzled the arena's with his mesmerizing playing -
      The 'Riffmaster' is pretty much responsible for ALL Leppard's massive back catalogue.
      Sav was also a significant player but it was 'Steamin' who bequethed this band and the world what you see and hear here.......
      Vivian has done and does an amazing job his parts where 'Steamin' blitzed and delivered musical magic are different obviously but Viv has stayed true, I love Viv, humble bloke and he's said he wants to do all he can to honour 'The Riffmaster', Vivian is one of the BEST guitarists in rock, DIO took care of that, while his biting, riffing with Leppard are sharp and sweet as..#TR

      GS HYBR1D........I was NOT in any way attacking you or your comment all I was doing was giving CONTEXT....nothing more...nothing less...simple..so if you think I was having a go at what you said you're WRONG....AGAIN these songs would NEVER have existed without 'Steamin' and later on also Mutt....simple stuff...

    • @GSHYBR1D
      @GSHYBR1D 6 лет назад

      william broadtreet I know lol. I'm talking about the changes that Phil does live on the lead work on the outros, intros, verses and such.

    • @williambroadstreet3353

      NOT a fan of Collen's shredding but he has been and is an integral part of DL's sound. Give me Viv any day of the week DIO was an example of killer work and yeah sure he's been bit of a back seat but he's said he is happy to. Collen provides his own deft touch and then he goes OTT but het just my opinion. Leave it at that cos I sorta have not got time to converse on line but thanks for your comments.
      In 'Adrenalize' Collen penned a SUPER great auto bio book....if you've not read it get it...his comments the day he 'processed' his best mates death are heartbreaking and his "Japanese Garden' analogy to 'Steamins' ability to create musical wunderment are just beautiful...Collen will tell anyone who interviews him there is not a SINGLE DAY he does not think of his best mate...a wonderful bloke and player..#TR

    Okay, so Viv is a bonified prick. Slams Ronnie James Dio & thinks he's the chit.
    I dunno why I keep thinking Sav had a mini-stroke a while back, strange.
    The guy filling in for Phil looks & acts like a chap who has watched WAY TOO MUCH porn & thinks opening his mouth & moving hips like Forrest Gump is, I dunno a turn on to women?
    Lastly, YES Phil overindulges when he's playing any solo or melody at times like the song, Hysteria. The DVD In the Round & when I saw them on that tour it was FAR better because they kept those clean guitars going at points.

      Olivia McCcormick.......oi c'mon Steve does an amazing job when he's been asked to fill in, and again he'd be pinching himself. Your reference to one of rocks greatest ever artists who had IT ALL in 'The Riffmaster' should NOT be even brought up.
      This band owes ALL pretty much of their entire back catalogue to the musical genius of 'Steamin' Steve Clark whether Elliot likes it or not and if they're touring on the back of 'Hysteria' they better fucking put up a HUGE AND LONG honour set screen for the one man who arguably, with help from Mutt Lange later on but earlier Steve penned most of the early heavier songs and constructed songs that have and will last eternal....
      'The Hysteria Tour' 'In The Round' was one of the greatest tours ever, and Steve oozed rock star, his hooks, riffing, deft use of his Kahler, and his blistering riffing on his magnificent triple pick up Creme/Black LP Customs are part of the amazing gift he left as he was strapped low owning the stage.
      Steven Maynard Clark 'was' Def Leppard, Rick's accident and recovery were amazing also but it was Steve who penned and constructed some of rocks most iconic songs...TLFL....GOW...and on and on it went#TR

      Olivia McCcormick What ??? Do you think,That Steve has been in some cryogenic chamber waiting to be thawed out?
      He’s been dead for 20+ yrs..
      I’d be happy if the band reunited for a few performances with Pete Willis who was the original nucleus of DL
      It was HIS fledging band, atomic mass 🤓that accepted Joe into HIS band.
      That’s always irked me about the guys unanimously kicking Pete for drinking. While they let a full blown alcoholic stay in the band until he was literally found to the gutter. .tsk tsk
