The final boss in FF7R is Sephiroth and while he’s tough, he can be made a lot easier to beat with the right tips. The boss fight comes on the back of taking on Whisper Harbinger and the rest of his fate guardians. You should be up to a white heat of action RPG brilliance by this stage, so the pointers should help you to defeat Sephiroth in no time.

Yeah. When I fought Hell House on hard mode, I was so scared of what was to come in Chapter 18 but by the time I reached it, I was capable of doing it with no retries. I thought Sephiroth was gonna take a LONG time to beat on hard.
Oh hell house was pretty easy for me, but i play on normal 👀 i died here 3 times so far, almost had him last time but j timed some things wrong xD
The hell house was easy, this is hellish. I tried over 20 times by now.
The Hell House fight is exactly how phase 3 Sephiroth works. When he is in Wind infusion, lightning increases his stagger bar. Hit him with Fire during ice infusion, wind during lightning infusion, and ice during fire infusion.
Except the hell house is easy as shit

I’m literally about to throw my controller I died at his boss fight and when I wanted to click retry it gave me 2 options and I didn’t know which one to click so I clicked one and it brought me all the way back to the beginning so I’m not playing ff7 for a couple days cuz that pissed me tf off

Once you figure out his mechanics, it becomes a manageable battle.
I did not use any attack spells against him. Having the gotterdamerung is a bonus.
I opened up with a dodge on the incoming Fireaga, a punisher combo, Counterstance, then Limit Break. Instant Phase 2.
i’ve been stuck on this all day today and I just can’t beat him man. Maybe I have the wrong materia or equipment or something but I literally cannot beat him past phase 3. He slowly kills off my whole team and finishes us all on one move its insane. I’m on normal and it’s so frustrating. I can’t counterattack or parry for the life of me and can’t dodge any fucking attacks. My whole fucking team just dies and I can’t finish him it’s so annoying.
That happens to me mate. Ur not the only one. Why Square Enix would u make a final boss much broken even on Normal Mode

I play in hard it’s not that difficult for me the only thinks that sucks is that tifs has 0 mp cause in hard mode you can’t regenerate mp until you beat the chapter

When he Get one of our team and in my Case Cloud, With Fucking 6. 5k Of Life gets Rekt by Him in one Fucking Combo
Beat him 2nd try while paused @ the 3 minute mark of this vid. Finished watching while the credits rolled. Good tips. I basically just parried/healed/used abilities and hit limit breaks. Didn't use many attack spells. The nostalgia is unmatched when you grew up playing the og. Shout to my uncle Anthony for getting me into it way back when. The gaming community will always feel like a second home to me. Thanks for having me, peeps.
Dudee how do I parry im on pc and I diddent even know there was a parry ✋😭
@@maelykkonia3787 been a few months but I'm pretty sure you go into braver stance and hold block. He'll hold the block until you're struck with an attack and automatically parry it. Hopefully this helps, these were such fun games.
Sorry "punisher mode" is what I was referring to. There are two modes, punisher and operator. Which, on ps, you switch between by tapping triangle. Whichever name is showing means you're in the opposite one. So the parry, for example, can only be used by blocking and waiting for the enemy to attack while in punisher mode. The mode where you see the option to switch back to operator. I've played and beaten several games since making my original comment, my apologies for the confusion. Good luck btw.

Your partners in phases 2 & 3 are different depending on who you bring in your party.
Thanks for that video. Blocking in punisher mode was a game changer for me. Turned out I got through entire game missing that move somehow. Until I got to the final battle that is. I was stuck but finally saw the end credits after applying it.

Counter stance all the way... I spammed it. Don-don-done. (Normal mode) That fight was explosive! To me, they were equal in power.

I uses Tifa & Barret to assist Cloud in Hard Mode & I just uses Curaga spell + Haste Spell without any offence spells in the whole fight.
I strongly suggest that Limit Break should uses to pressure Sephiroth 1st before staggered. U may staggers him later by uses Cloud's focused thrust, Tifa's Focused Strike & Barret's focused shot. This way also can staggers Sephiroth by twice or third times in the 3rd phase.

My first play through I got Barret and second Aerith , I think it all depends on you’re choices and from the sewers and who you favorite or not and through the play through , if I didn’t have that necklace for beating pride and joy .... no way lol , but I did put ice + element on cloud equipment so seph Healed me when I’m distant from him since in my playthrough he tend to use ICE a lot
Yeah He Tends to Use Ice a Lot, but when he use Electro you are Fuck
I e learned to use haste to build my AP gauge and counter with punisher mode. With Tifa having Cure materia keeping Cloud hild up and also having barrier equip to Tifa casting mana wall. To reduce damage. Areith with arcade ward (also Ray of judgement) while building your AP while Tifa is is using chakra and building up her attack gauge do give phy damage. Will help greatly

@@LiLChaNii This game looked amazing when I replayed it on PS5. I decided to get the Plat first before buying rebirth. I don't buy a lot of games but for this I figured it was worth supporting the project. When you csn get one you won't be disappointed

When i fight Sephiroth i put Aerith as the main healer. Big Mistake because i got Tifa and Berret. Manage to defeat him though. But i Lost alot of Mega Potions. Advice.....have both Aerith and Tifa Both Healing and Praying Materia.
Ok, Aerith is My Main Healer Too and Not Gonna Lie i Need Too Tifa To Heal, idk Why i have heal In Cloud Since He is My Tank and Can't Heal With Sephiroth Spamming Attacks

I beat him i almost threw my controller and tv out my window i swear to god but i finally did it thanks man (and yes i only okayed it now)
I managed to beat him my first try on normal mode not knowing anything about him(i didn’t assess him either) but it was still hard as fuck, used about 5 phoenix downs, im not ready for hard mode, it will be a challenge if the freaking doomrats are hard to me on that mode
Hard is rough lol. Shit a lot of these last battles are tough on hard. Had to use you tube to help for many of them
When I started this game I thought that it couldn’t be any harder than dark souls…I thought I wouldn’t have rage quitted. Then I realized I had to fight sephiroth.

Returning to it on PS5 I haven’t been able to close the game I put console in rest mode until I can beat him hell house was tough but this man is giving me the go around. POV day 176 of challenging Seperoth. Once Barret joins it’s not long before I’m dead. There’s no room for error in the fight and leading up to it have to ration ether and potions

Took aaaaages to beat the harbinger, died once at sephiroth and it started back there so thought I'd get to come back to it so turned ps4 off. Come to find I have to harbinger AGAIN. 'Bout to snap the discs I'm so done with this....
You don't have to fight him again you just didn't comprehend what you were reading and clicked the wrong option

I blocked his magic woth operater, and when he attacked I used Punisher to parry. I stocked up on mega potions and used Aerith to heal the party with pray. I also used barrier on Cloud to half physical damage

Retry from last battle lol. Hopefully you chose the correct one.....

First try I got to the final part and then he downed everyone with them orbs that suck you in, now I have to do the harbinger fight again too hahaha

i don’t even know how but it only took me two tries to defeat him. it was surprisingly easy for some reason. the hell house and some other bosses were harder to defeat than sephiroth 😭😭

I changed my material from barret to aerith but barret came and not aerith
I just beat him with blocking and limits, using the others to heal me. Absolute horrible boss fight.
Love how this isn't as much a Strategy as it is someone just flying by the seat of their pants lol.
You ABSOLUTELY want to save your Limit Break for the final phase, aka when he begins his countdown from 9. If you don't finish the fight quickly, it's an instant Game Over if his count reaches 0. Thus you want to save the Limit Break for that.
FInished my play through yesterday on "normal". This guy stressed me so out. But I'm not the best player also. Hope I get some tipps for the play trough on hard here. x)
Edit: I definitely need to make use of switching between the group members. I'm old, slow and stubborn tho. xD
The "retry from this battle" option is bugged. I keep starting all over from before the Whispers; as if this battle wasn't tedious enough. I tried to enjoy this game. I really did...

Try a manual save after you beat the whispers
@@ReleaseFire you can’t manual save however you should be able to fight from last battle just make sure you pick the correct option

I need another video or something. Either that, or this is impossible. This is Bloodborne type of difficulty. The fact the game doesn’t let you rearrange your materia and equipment after dying is pure hot trash. I just want it to be over…

What annoys me about this game is the horrible checkpoints during fights so when sephiroth kills me i have the fight the whiskers all over again which makes me cut it off lol I need to finish it so I can start the new game lol
