I love ur channel bc you talk about things you love. There are sooo many commentary youtubers that feel like watching straight up teenagers (when they're in their 20s) whining about all the stuff they hate and cringe at. Good for you Mike, watching you is very fun!
this movie is PEAK and the reason the reviews are so bad is actual misogyny, and that's on that. people in 2007 just did not want things targeted to girls to thrive like they deserved to.
I don’t know why I’m starting this argument, but I honestly always hated this type of media as a kid and felt insulted by it. I’m not saying I was too smart for it, I was a stupid child and very girly, so I never understood why other girls weren’t insulted by it too. Of course I wouldn’t have been able to explain what I meant by “this type” of media at the time, but it was the same type of stuff being pumped out by Barbie, and whichever brilliant but cynical marketing team decided that the Spice Girls should be marketed like living dolls rather than actual people. I definitely didn’t think I was “not like other girls”, and I wasn’t a tom boy by any stretch of the imagination. I was into all sorts of stereotypically feminine stuff, just not “this” type of media. If you’re still reading this, and I don’t know why you would be, I agree that liking this movie as a kid, or being nostalgic about it as an adult, doesn’t make someone an idiot or superficial or anything like that. On the other hand I also strongly agree with all the reviewers that think this is intentional garbage made by money grubbing adults who don’t care about their audience or respect the intelligence of children, especially girls. There’s a lot of shallow, stupid, badly made girls media out there. I think that it’s crazy to say that it’s misogynistic to feel a little angry about it and think that little girls deserve better. It may or not to be a stupid thing to get my panties in a bunch about, and it’s definitely a first world problem, but it’s not misogynist. This stuff just kinda sucks, and thats okay.

I never watched this movie as a kid but it's free on RUclips right now so I watched it before watching this video. I have no nostalgic attachment and I thought the movie was legitimately good! It has a positive message and the songs are pretty good for a movie in this genre. Sure it's a bit campy but I had fun the whole time. I think people just hate on it because it was made for young girls. I think all the girls are portrayed as talented individuals and the plot doesn't revolve around a boy, which was pretty good for the time this movie was made in.

I know he’s spending this time working on the new PLL video….. I am SO EXCITED
I LOVED this movie when I was younger! Also I lost it when you showed the clip of Gottmik saying gagatrondra 😭
Janel Parish playing a character based on dolls then playing "A" in PLL who treats people as dolls and also plays with them and even has toy dolls in her A untucked room lost woods resort realness!!!
ICONIC MONA!
Not to mention she essentially becomes a doll in the pll dollhouse eps.
This unlocked so many memories for me, I remember playing the Bratz game on my DS 😭 truly iconic
I had the wii game🎮
I love ur channel bc you talk about things you love. There are sooo many commentary youtubers that feel like watching straight up teenagers (when they're in their 20s) whining about all the stuff they hate and cringe at. Good for you Mike, watching you is very fun!
mike ilysm thank you so much for continuing to bless us like this
9:11 pls the quick reflection was comedy gold. We stan a humble king.
this movie is PEAK and the reason the reviews are so bad is actual misogyny, and that's on that. people in 2007 just did not want things targeted to girls to thrive like they deserved to.
Lol or maybe movies targeted to girls should be better
@@harrietmcclouddd Oh my god, I just wrote a whole damn novel to say the same thing without even seeing this comment. Thanks for not being a pretentious wind bag like me.

My best friend from college and I used to watch this movie all the time. We loved its multicolored idiocy so much but we could never get anyone else to watch it with us. Thank you for adoring this trashy mess as much as we do 💕💕
the diva what song meredith sings has been stuck in my head since 2007..thank u for this representation Xx
Jade was such a baddie in this film, Janel Parrish didn't have to go that hard. in other news I'll never get over the mariachi band just walking through Yasmin's house....... sis
apparently being stereotypical as always lol
@@solaceskies1 the racial stereotyping in this film was WILD
I'm nearly 29 and I still listen to It's All About Me every week. Ma Ma Madonna ain't got nothing on me? Truly iconic
The soundtrack exists, and I listen to is on a DAILY basis
Ok but Jade’s rainy day song in the credits had me in my feelings, fully spawned my depression era
yess yasmin is a baddie and bratz dolls slayed i wanted their fits so bad
also 100% jade was the coolest in the movie like when she had a makeover 🤩 and the clown outfits
the reviews on bratz, they’ve never smiled a day in their lives i fear
Honestly though, this was such an iconic movie. The fashion, the songs, that one scene where they makeover the clown outfits, ICONIC

11:39 had me crying omg MIKE
this is one of my favorite movies I had it downloaded to my ipod to watch on airplanes
i love this movie. the best thing about it is the comments on the free movie on youtube
Thank you for addressing the science bullshit. I'm glad someone else cares that they just totally used Bernoulli's effect wrong. Bernoulli did not deserve this 😔👍
i don't even know which bernoulli this is about but i totally agree.
When I was a kid and I watched this I didn't know what journalism was and so when Yasmin was like guys I can't come I have journalism I thought it was a name for like social anxiety. I feel like if anyone deserves this knowledge it's mr microphone so you're welcome sir
this movie was like one of my all time favourite childhood movie. I watched it so so many times i loved it so much
This movie literally raised me and that is why I’m so slay
mike is seriously superior with his masters degree
I have not started the video yet I just wanna say this makes me feel elite because growing up this was my favourite movie ever and I would watch it EVERY week and I knew all the lines to it. I think it has shaped who I am today. So glad we're finally discussing this Mike, long overdue
the secret closet room was in the house before they moved in and only Jade knows about it
