Just bought it myself after my 14 year old Kenmore unexpectedly died. Installed today. So far very happy with the features and what appears to be premium quality. I, too, have read some concerns about long-term reliability and the resilience of the ice maker functions. That said, it seems that nothing - from ANY brand - is really designed to last these days, so I'm keeping my expectations modest. So far, I have to say I particularly admit the size, the layout, and the volume - it's super quiet! It definitely has a very premium look and feel to it compared to my basic Kenmore. I got it for the craft ice, and because a review of a lower end model indicated that because the ice maker wasn't in the door, the filtered water was not chilled. I'm investigating an extended warranty just to be on the safe side! I got this for $1699 at Lowes on sale, and it still is eligible for other rebates which I plan to take advantage of.
That is awesome! Your Kenmore lasted a long time for sure. This LG refrigerator is definitely a premium quality unit with a sleek design. I have heard things about the ice maker as well but I could say something about every single unit on the market. Nothing is perfect but this refrigerator is definitely a great one! Enjoy it!
Thanks, I don't know why the Home Depot page for this refrigerator wouldn't include pictures of the inside, and this is even better explaining all these parts on the inside.
I just bought this one today at Lowe’s 1599. And purchased a 5 year warranty. There have been mixed reviews for its reliability. I had an Lg refrigerator never had a problem with it until today 10/26/25.
The problem is that reviews are just so damn untrustworthy....unless it's video from someone clearly not on the take from a manufacturer or distributor. Just about every enterprise known to man employs and demands ordinary everyday people in their 'sales' desks to do attack reviews. Even a Gutter Cleaning company my friend works for. FFS.
Into 2nd year owning this fridge and love it, however, the craft ice maker is grinding gears but still produces the round ice(time to call repair man lol). Other than that it's a great fridge
Thanks for the video! I see this one going for $1600 right now at Costco. Need to upgrade this POS Samsucks French door we’ve been frustrated with for the past few years now.
Surprised you didn't talk about the warranty on this LG fridge. It's by far the best around from what I can tell. I also have an LG TV and had to exercise the warranty. They sent a repairman with parts and got it fixed no cost to me. Also wish you'd talked more about the ThinQ app that works with LG appliances. Thanks for the reviews.
Did you make a purchase? Curious to know what you went with. I haven’t received any feedback from customers that purchased this unit about it breaking down.
LG is continuously improving there appliances and advancing technology. I’ve sold many of these and haven’t had any complaints. Older LG refrigerators had a few issues, however, those have been addressed. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
Weird. I sent a reply not too long ago but it’s gone. So far so good. No issues. Ice maker for basic use is great. Craft ice feature is cool. You’re going to need bins for the refrigerator side for organization. Side by side is the way to go. Those French door types are cool but so much issues. It was $1699 at BB for the black stainless steel 🤙🏽
i just bought one of these from costco, i did, um, no research on refrigerators, i am replacing my trashbox samsung, i figured anything is an improvement. I did read about the linear compressors being a big problem, does this unit have a linear compressor? did they fix that issue? are they still a problem?
no, ive had it for maybe a month now, I really like it. Its a huge side by side, i like the door in door, and it has plenty of room in it. I got it from costco and bought the extended warranty, and kept my old fridge just in case. @@buckaveli
LG is continuously improving there appliances and advancing technology. I’ve sold many of these and haven’t had any complaints. Most issues that I’ve seen with ice makers have been due to condensation build up causing moving parts to freeze up. That usually happens from leaving the freezer or refrigerator doors open for long periods of time. Refrigerator ice makers are designed to provide cups of ice not to fill coolers. Those that require lots of ice will likely have issues. My recommendation is getting a freestanding ice maker if you use lots of ice. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

Glad to hear you are loving that craft ice maker. Definitely an unique feature.

Thanks for tuning in! And yes this LG refrigerator is super sleek and very modern! I don't think you would be disappointed. That's a good price point.

I’ve been reading about this fridge breaking down in less than 2 years. Thoughts? This compared to Samsung?

I’m looking at this one as well. Stay clear of Samsucks! I’m so tired of having to manually defrost the ice maker in ours!
Samsung appliances are terrible!
How much space should i have between the fridge and the surrounding?
It is cool. Just curious on the reliability

There's a class action on this fridge, regarding the craft ice maker not working or being able to be fixed,,stay tuned,,mines died after 1 yr

Just bought it, and this review helped explain a lot. Thanks!!
How do you guys feel about it? Do you recommend it?
Do you recommend it?!
Great looking fridge! Though hesitant on the ice issues that people are posting . I wonder how bad that issue is

how much money bro
Shabbat mode??
It's definitely not "counter depth"
Not side by side, please come up with something new😮
Side-by-side refrigerators allow for my storage space inside. However, there is currently a lot of different refrigerator styles on the market.
