Singing Success | We Build Great Singers™
i still dont get it
and i have to say, when i was 17 (2 or 3 years after practicing by myself, cause i didnt know singingsuccess exists) i couldnt do head voice or even falsetto, there were just out of my singing abilities... took some practice and perseverance to get them, bit per bit (i dont know how u say it in usa, hope u get what i mean)
at 1:20 I just had to laugh... but it's a good lesson.
at 1:44 he says "you're hearing the resonance shit" hahahaha
This was hilarious to watch...
1:41 "Yes son, what do you want?"
I'm just a student myself, so I honestly can't say which exercises are best. I'd suggest looking through these videos, as I have, and trying the various exercises. See which ones are most difficult for you and focus on improving them. I know there's a lot of videos, and some are redundant, but it's worth the effort if you can't afford lessons.
Brett is cool... he always seems a bit stoned and somehow that makes me trust him...
i think u are just blocked with some bad vocal habbits... try to understand your voice first, how it works, and then try again, i didnt trust in singing success at first... even i didnt buy their product, i just watched almost every video the were uploading and trying to understand, the rest was part of my daily practice...
so... take what they say, find the meaning of their words, practice and u'll find out your voice is much more than it is now, dont be so pessimist, go ahead and good luck
Ahaha, it's hard to take these tips seriously; so many funky sounds. Great tip nonetheless..
i cant believe it s mix. Iv got my mix with your lessons, and it isnt a falsetto any more, but it sounds like bad voice of woman, not just like yours. Actually i have quite low voice, and after my chest note the mix swithing harshly and sounds much poorer. It is sort of sound in "Zombie" The Cranberries. What may i do?
Sorry for my bad english^^
Just today I learned how to push my head voice to my chest voice by literally pushing it down not physically but sort of mentally. Make any sense? There is so much control and ease when singing those high notes when you can bring it down into the chest. Put your hand on your chest and keep singing those high notes until you can feel that resonance in your chest.
"if i'm in my mouth..." i think prince taught him that technique.
7-6-3. "If I'm in my mouth, I can't pull up. Make sense?"
@xox102 i think higher notes sound better.. but doesnt mean your not a true singer if you cant sing cos some people have base or baritone voices and sound good! ... i got a baritone voice and i hate it.. i wish i was tenor, i think it sounds better D:
@Lavizzle "Brett is cool... he always seems a bit stoned and somehow that makes me trust him" LMFAO ! That's because stoned people are honest people lol . I wish everybody was stoned, the world would be a better place...^_^
@truerainbows i can sing in both but when i switch into my head voice i have a defined break in my voice which i can't get rid of. and my head voice is weak... do you have a ny tips on how to sing powefully in you head voice~??
@Seatellite head voice is not at all falsetto. flasetto is when there is no chord closure and air is going through your throat. Head voice is called that way because the resonance goes from chest to head.

while playing, press 6. that's what he'll be saying one day when he is speeding towards a cliff and his brakes don't work.
if your comment doesn't relate to the video..please..just shut up and don't try to get more than 3 digits of green numbers below your comment.
that is totally wrong... who told u that crap? falseto is, like u said "pure air" but with some cords vibrating on the edge... head voice is made by making only one third of the vocal cords vibrate and u CAN do it without hearing the air through (that is called vocal compression), if you didnt know that, u know nothing about the voice and should take some lessons, your comment just made me sad :c
@JameSackey If you are going to change the placement of the sound, continue using your diaphram and breath to support throughout the transition. You may not really be going from head to chest but from head to throat instead..if your throat/larynx is relaxed the whole time, this shouldnt happen. must stay relaxed! but push the diaphram.
My God Brett!!!!!. You must stop telling tales about how the voice works. What you are doing, is not what you´re say your doing. You´re making a jam out of it. People will be confused when you´re not distinguishing between registers/and mix of them and the placement of the vocals you´re using. I hope you good soldiers of singing go hunting somewhere else.
1:23 :( Makes me feel terrible, sounds like his vocally cords are screaming in tears.
@sophie96299 sorry, i don't know xP it just comes to me naturally that i sing with that. it usually sounds airy but you have to project it somehow to make it louder.
@GraceOh
lol sorry for the 4 months late in reply haha. yea i get it now. it is pretty hard to explain vocal lessons. You really need to work it yourself :D.
why sometimes my head voice breaks (literally) into a ugly distorted VOCAL FRY?
i am worried about that beacuse it took so much time to learn all this!
I so need this video but just can't understand what he is talking about. I don't have the knowledge to understand the terminology he is using.
I thought when singing you're supposed to keep your mouth wide open? you can still close your mouth a bit to transition from chest to head voice?
holy shit.. im trying not to think that this guy is someone from Chainsaw Massacre film.. and the title of this video clip doesn't help..
i have a problem, when i try to go from head down to chest i get this nasty crack into a low off pitch chest voice. can anyone help me here
wonder if katy perry can do this. i would love to know his opinion on today's singers most of which have no range
0:45 & 0:56 & 1:22 remind me when I try to imitate the cat which ate a magic mushroom and yell at another cat
got ya thats easy...iys kid like singin laaaaaaa until u feel pressure in it head and thats head voice
i fucking hate that little "e" that goes MUH-MUH--MUH MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! hurts my head
lol
i can only sing with a head voice, when i sing with a chest voice it sounds like awful crap :(
Primarily in the mouth.. Mouth and head. ;)
You have a bit of the sound like Jamie Cullumn.. positive ofcourse
1,5,3,4
Hey i'm brett menning, bitch you ate my vocal chords.. makes sense? With ease
How do you think combining om meditation with singing exercises would be beneficdial?
actually, i dunno what the "mix" is, which video explains it?
arnt the head and chest voice already connected? in choir i was taught that. XD
Honestly, if you cant go high on chest voice, you are not a true singer.
@xox102 Honestly, you clearly have no clue what you are talking about.
does he sing that little intro thing at the beggining?? xD jw..
I get a raspy sound when I do this... What am I doing wrong?
@Seatellite Head voice and falsetto are not the same. I'd say falsetto, which can be produced in higher (head voice) and lower (chest voice) tones, is a form of unsupported/unconnected head/chest voice respectively.
@OlivierOvation that is just my opinion:). I bet you cant sing
thankies =] yeah my choir teacher wasnt that good of a teacher.
i like his lessons. i understand what he means.
but having personnal singing lessons is always better :D
@singkay3 The 'mix' means mixing your chest voice and your head voice. While head voice's resonance is above your mouth area (don't know how to explain properly) and chest voice's resonance is when you naturally say 'ahh'. So to hit high notes, the best way is to 'mix' chest voice and head voice. This video shows how to connect and find your mix voice easily once you done enough exercise
...or that's how I understood it anyway ^_^
Practice. You're training your muscles, and they're not used to it yet. Over time, your muscle memory will become more automatic; the transition will feel easier and you'll be better equipped to work on transitioning more quickly. Be patient. It's a process. :)
@majesticglaze i know i know i perfer shit though haha :P
@majesticglaze i know i know i perfer shit though haha :P
Am I the only one cracking up throughout the whole vid?
1:41 WOW that sounded so much like annoying orange ._.
@alimomali2 i think he says "shift" :P but idunno ahaha
can someone please explain to me what he's saying?? D:
These tips are great but the comments are golden...
I still don't really know how you're supposed to know when you're singing in your mix voice, but this somewhat helped :)
