Your passenger announcements reminded me of the best private pilot briefing I ever heard: "In the event of an emergency before V1, we will abort the takeoff and troubleshoot the problem. In the event of an emergency after takeoff, we will attempt to deal with the problem until we arrive either back at the runway, or at the scene of the crash."
At the very worst, you should be able to dock the space plane to the carrier plane on the runway and have each person control one of ships like that. Hopefully, 2 people controlling 2 different parts of a ship will be easier than that though.
There is no way they will ever get multiplayer figured out and optimized. At this point I am not sure they can optimize after 4 years. Add in multiplayer which only unoptimizes more, doubtful they will get it figured out.
@@gsamelon it's on the roadmap, after interstellar travel. They also claimed to have figured out how time warp will work with multiplayer so I have hope they'll get a mostly functional product out to us
I have an idea for your next video! You can actually land on Jool at the moment, can you do something with that please? I know how hard it is to battle Kraken while flying interplanetary, but please, do it for one more time
I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying the in-flight announcements. Would not be disappointed if they became a regular feature! Top content, good sir 👍
The magnetic boots you mention remind me of an old kerbal 1 overhaul mod that made it so you had to do more research to be able to send kerbals to space, starting with very limited probes. You would research the space suits and the thrusters for the kerbals. A similar feature with the magnetic boots would be nice.
I think I know the mod you're talking about, and if I'm right, there's a Scott Manley video about it... but all I remember is that the title of the video (and potentially the mod) reminded me of Better than Wolves (the name of an old Minecraft mod).
@@akiranara6404 yeah. I remember that scot manley video. The mod was a lot of fun. More challenging, but at the sa.e time kind of less grindy. I didn't get too far. But it really felt like i was doing diferent things every mission.
mat, ive found that in the new VAB if you separate the vessels you can see their individual deltaV and thrust ratio. the game treats any thing that is not connected in the same work area as diferent vessels. so you could just built the carrier plane and the payload separated and have their individual specs. same aplies for rockets. building differet stage sparately to have theirs repective deltaV and Thrust ratio
I was going to say that. I noticed that right away and it's a nice thing. Just separate your stages and the one marked as active for launch is the one you will see thrust and deltaV data for.
I actually had a good session of KSP2 last night. Landed on the Mun (badly) and returned (barely). The frame rate wasn't great at times, but the only real bug I could see was the complete lack of orbit tracks starting when I took off from the Mun. Also my Mum flag was the default KSP one even though it clearly remembered my selected agency flag.
"Pro" tip: use empty crew modules on any carrier planes you separate for these sorts of builds, and put probe cores on the carrier plane for control if you need it
Just imagine, multiplayer will make this feasible. We will be able to have a player control each simultaneously. and that's just the start. Simultaneous launch orbital assembly? Staying in or close to formation on ascent will make rendezvous a breeze! Im already thinking of things right now. make a two or three part mothership, then the rest of the launches for surface base, rovers, and shuttles. Once you park in orbit, ya send everything down at launch. I hope someone does a dynamic weather mod. I'd love to recreate The Martian with friends. God im so impatient and cannot wait. Oh and uh, loved the video and have a like!
As far as planes go, the wobble / wiggle is probably a bit more realistic, especially for extended wings. It'd be a lot more pronounced sped up as well.
It would be a lot more realistic if the control surfaces didn't snap to 100% deployed with every tap of the controls. That's a common keyboard control issue, but it's made worse by the untuned SAS giving bumpies to the crew. :P
It feels like most of the devs haven't played the original for more than a few hours. They just seem completely oblivious to what made KSP special, much less what made it work.
Honestly yea. And what makes it more, frankly just weird. Is one of the devs said they played it too much during development, to the point it took some time away from development. And honestly I just can't believe that. If they played it that much, a good amount of these bugs would've been caught.
@@Lakita2880 I saw that same video and haven't stopped thinking about it since then when seeing KSP 2 footage. There's no way the state this game is in is causing productivity issues because they're "having too much fun."
13:20 I honestly don't know HOW the developers thought that wobbly rockets would be a good idea. It's either that or they didn't know and both of those seem really unlikely to me. Like did they never once try to build a big rocket on the final build? Just one large rocket and they would've seen how much of a problem the wobbling is.
I love the concept. My first attempt at the weekly challenge was more of 747 mounted rocket. I Kraken'd out, and will have to give it another shot later.

About multiplayer, it will all depend on how players and command imput will be managed. When two crafts from two players dock to eachother, who commands the craft? (managing commanding priority like in KSP 1 on the craft names? So you could imagine a carrier plane from one player, the space plane from the other designed to be docked to eachother on the runway, carrier plane cames to dock to the spaceplane, takes off and jettisons the spaceplane at the right moment, normally the space plane player should regain control and continue on his merry way, like the carrier...
I gotta admit, I never played KSP alot. One can say that KSP2 made me get into KSP1 more in the recent days... and I finally get all the sympathy for Valentina Kerman :)

"Yo dawg, I heard you like planes, so I put a plane in your plane so you can fly while you fly"
Look up SpaceShipTwo, and WhiteKnightTwo 😝
"Where'd you get that plane?"

To stop EVA from making your crafts accelerate/roll etc. I've found that pausing time, going EVA, then playing time will help quite a lot :)
If it's anything like EVA in KSP 1 when there's a part near the ladder/hatch, what worked for me was disabling SAS on the ship immediately before EVA
