Sean didn't find the drums, the drums found Sean. He had to have been an Octopus in a past life. The dude is/was unreal. RIP Drum God. Valhalla is rockin' right now.
right at 3:28 i cant even tell you how many times I have listened to the intro to that song, start over listen to intro, start over listen to intro so many times in a row over and over just listening to that smooth hi-hat work over the beat god yes.....prob my all time favorite drum beat ever in the history of someone playing drum sets
Sean thank you so much for sharing these clips. Back at this time I was listening to Focus and feeling so much good inspiration from you, you seriously have had such a huge impact on me as a drummer probably more than anyone. YOU ROCK!!! What happened to "It's about time"? instructional dvd? You should hit drumeo up and do a lesson on there I bet so many people would love to learn from you.
Why couldn't have the drums sounded like this on the actual record?! Edit: I said this in my naivety many years ago. Mix was fine. Excited for the new ReFocus remix.
Those melodic snare drums or whatever it sounds pitched (2:58 to on) that's just noticeable here but its not very clear in the studio track, unless you are hearing it in a high definition audio device, with good speakers. I'm not an audio engineer , but it looks like some frequencies are lost, absorved by the rest of instruments. Can someone show more light about?
Sean was 22 when he recorded this record. 20 when he did Human. 48 when he left us empty. My drum hero for life.
He’ll always be one of my favorite drummers regardless of genre. Legends never die
Me too man, me too...
Same, he's just too good
❤
Definitely my #1..
RIP, Sean
40 year olds playing all their life's could touch him at 19. He had it all . Started on piano, he was a prodigy. RIP Sean
2:35 .... that's the legendary take that made it to the album I think. ;-)
"that was it! woooo!"
I think that was the take that he prolly recorded to save the idea. I think that take is a little rough. But the notes are there
Yes, incredible!
After all these years it’s so crazy I get so see them actually recording an Album that completely blew my mind. Wow, priceless. RIP Sean
Happy Birthday, Beautiful Master Sean! ❤🩹🙏

I remember listening to Focus for the first time and my jaw dropping during this solo section. Amazing clip. Thanks for uploading!

That snare ❤
Noticing SR (rip) played a double bass drum kit not double kick makes me so happy. (Focus recordings)
Enjoy Anomaly as well. Superb drumwork.
Thank you for this amazing footage! Please add more!
Lord of drums... Valhalla rejoices!
2.35... yes that's the final goal, the triplets on splashes with double bass....unbeliveable video!!!!!!!
What a drum sound!

man... that tones...
I actually think the drum sound is quite close to the one on the record.
kit rarely sounds the same in the room as it does mic'd
I love this so much!

Sickest shit on YT.
Lovely ! Something from Textures will be great

wow
AWESOME! Any footage of you and Malone?!
Awesome bro ! Did you play the K/Z 13" Hats ?
Do you have drum tracking session from "Veil of Maya" ? It is my favorite song from this record!!
+Sean Reinert So, this track was built up from of the drum take? I mean, that's how it seems, being pre Autotune and all.
*"from the drum take"

Zentrika Los Cristianos the toms you mean?
A lotta drum tones in metal get sacrificed through compression too
Any footage from Textures?? :::::)))))))
Sean, what kind of snare did u use on FOCUS?
He used a 13x3 piccolo. Not sure which one it was and I have one myself. It sounds quite similar
@@dgomez6778 Thanks! I do use a 14x3 Piccolo Mapex, black panther, I Try to tune it like Sean did
@@angelfer82it's medium tuning and the wire is somewhat loose.
