All I could think was "The Queen of the Skies got pregnant!" But considering that it's carrying parts for other Boeing jets, that's pretty much true. This is yet another of the many weird modifications to 747s, having been by far the largest aircraft for decades I guess it was the go-to for really strange projects. Others include SOFIA, some sort of airborne laser, the shuttle carrier, Air Force One, that luxury mountain house built from 747 wings, - any others out there I'm forgetting?
maybe, i fouind a water park the other day on google earth that has waterslides coming out from what appears too be a 747 ( or just some random passenger plane )
@@ZepyhrLight I've heard of numerous retired 747s being turned into restaurants, one is even a hotel/hostel. But I've seen that done with various other aircraft as well. I have heard of at least two 727s turned into houses - a 747 would be a mansion, probably bigger than most people would want.
Back when they made the first one, the large section was left in yellow primer for a while firing test flights. Earned it the nickname "Flying Hot Dog"
When I saw this video for the first time, I fell in love with the engine sound of the 747LCF. I love the usual CF6, but this engine sound with a different high range is also wonderful. From Japan
Gorgeous plane. I've fueled this aircraft before when it was parked at mia. This plane still works like a dream, no hiccups with the fueling gauges, no self fueling bullshit Airbus does, nothing! it's mostly manual fueling. I've only ever seen this plane in person take off from mia like 2 maybe 3 times. It's like a flying whale.
What an impressive looking bird!! That thing looks like it shouldn't be able to get off the ground let alone fly... I would love to see the inside of it...
I saw one take off from ANC, and it was impressive. I had been hiking in Earthquake Park, and saw lots of different cargo planes come in from the bay, so I drove over to the nearby airport to watch the runway. My friend asked me, "What is that plane?" I thought he was talking about the China Airlines, UPS, or Atlas cargo planes, but then, when I saw the DreamLifter turn, I got excited -- never did I expect to see one in my lifetime on a random trip to a civilian airport.

make a passinger version with swiming pool.indoor shopping senter and so on.or just a 3 story 747 beating the a 380 in passinger capacity. 1000 to 1500 passinger version any one?
Converted -400, yes. But it wasn't "hastily thrown together" and the point was that they had work that needed to be done, not just that they wanted to "match the Beluga".
Used to transport aircraft parts ... isn't it easier to just build the airplane you want to transport and then fly it? I guess not ... Also heard someone say they use these to transport your moms. She must have been in the first one, that one took a while to take off.
Imagine if the NTSB ever has to investigate a crash of one of these...gonna take them a year to figure out why they've found 3 sets of the four corners of a Boeing.
This plane was parked in the ramp where I use to work and my friends that at the same time where female coworkers and they still are went to see it and one of them she got in top of one of tires and posed on the high voltage electrical box smiling she love it still remember that
Wings are -400, winglets removed. The Dreamlifters were converted from former Malaysia and China Airlines -400 passenger planes. Winglets on a 747-400 don’t change the performance anyway, strictly a marketing device to help differentiate the -400 from the 200/300. Removed on Dreamlifters to save weight and their may have been vibration issues but idk for sure..The -400D versions for ANA and JAL were delivered without them. You are correct the vertical stabilzers on Dreamlifters are from scrapped -SP airplanes.
It looks like the 747 was stung by a bee and had an allergic reaction.
I mean it used to be a 747 passenger plane and they added a cargo station to the hull
