Unboxing: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER EAGLE OC 12G

January 2024 saw the announcement of NVIDIA's refreshed mid-range "Ada Lovelace" GPUs in the form of the RTX 4000 SUPER series, namely the RTX 4080 SUPER, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER as well as the RTX 4070 SUPER. Featuring an increase in CUDA cores and clock speeds, the impending launch of the RTX 4000 SUPER series of GPUs has seen the original RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 Ti go EOL (end-of-life) - a relatively short lifespan for these two GPUs given that they were launched not too long ago.

When i orderd my 4070 super it already arrived out of the foil. Is that bad?

Does your card have any signs of use, as far as you can tell? Also, do you mean that the silver anti-static bag wasn't even present at all in the box?

@@ALKtech No, the card has no signs of use, but the plastic and all the caps that were supose to cover the ports are nowhere to be found.

@@solaredison9031 hmm, it does sound like someone's probably installed this card before and put it back in the packaging thereafter. If this is an issue for you, you might wanna get your card exchanged..or at least check in with the retailer that you purchased the card from, to see if they can offer some sort of discount as compensation. My two cents!

I just bought the eagle because of the triple fans which allows more headroom for overclocking. I plan to OC this card to its limits.

@@snoweater1179 I find the 4070 SUPER pretty power efficient - you could give undervolting a go too while OC-ing the card to find a sweet spot!
