    Brilliant thanks. Makes me fell good making the last-minute decision to go with the Gaming version (Gigabyte on this occasion) was a good choice. Nice to know they are a better built quality and can handle a bit more stress. - thanks a bunch !

    I got the GIGA-BYTE and am very happy. When installing, make sure you seat the adapter all the way into the card. I had issues with no display and this was the fix. The adapter going into the card does not click. Make sure it is aligned and pushed in far enough.

    • @canernm
      @canernm 4 месяца назад +1

      For me, it doesn't go in all the way, and it doesn't click. There is a 1-2 mm gap. The PC and the card work fine so far, but I am trying to get a replacement. I am seeing many people that have this issue, so it's a defective adapter I guess.

      How is the fan noise? quiet fans under load? On this video it says 1700RPM.... for me im surprised if that is quiet

  • @ThatGuySquippy
    @ThatGuySquippy 11 месяцев назад +10

    These are the 2 cards I was choosing between. It's actually really surprising to see that the Gigabyte card is performing (marginally) better than the ASUS TUF card, given that as of right now, the ASUS card is about $30 more expensive than the Gigabyte one. But this is good news to me, because I have a case which houses the GPU vertically, and the fans towards the side panel, meaning the rgb circles around the fans on the Gigabyte card will provide some nice colored lighting where my old TUF 3070 only had a small sliver at the top.
    Thanks for this review!

    The Super reviews helped me to not hesitate to buy Asus 4070 Super Dual. I’ve owned three different Asus TUF cards and loved them all. But this time it didn’t really make sense to go with the TUF since the Dual stood up extremely good in reviews. For the same price, sure, but I could buy the Dual to MSRP $744 here in Sweden. Asus TUF was widely available but the cheapest retailer (and not my preferred one) was $889. My preferred one charged $928 for TUF and $744 for Dual. I think you would have made the same choice when the difference is $184 😊
    And yes, I know the prices are nuts here in Sweden, but if you need a GPU you need a GPU 🤷🏼‍♂️

      TI super is not worth it. By the time you need 16 GB, the card will be too slow to run everything on ultra. So when you go down to "high" the memory usage will go down too.

      the founders cards (for nvidia) and reference cards (amd) are def high tier cards based on looks. But when it comes to performance/cooling? your better off going with an manufacture model since better temps means a higher ceiling for performance. But again the FE models will still work and be fine lol.. just if your on a "rather safe then sorry" for the temp side of things, the asus/gigabyte/etc.. cards will be more expensive yes, but better.

      You cannot use both cards for gaming simultaneously. You can use them for rendering and other tasks but not for gaming, so you won't gain any fps compared to just one 4070 super.

    While the Asus GPU seems to have a nicer looking PCB and just more refined, that refinement seems to have done nothing to the actual card itself. Memory temp is significantly higher on the Asus GPU. The actual wattage is about the same. I'm not sure what the draw is to the Asus considering that Gigabyte gives you 4yrs of warranty instead of 3 if you register it with them within 30 days.

      Coil whine is another thing against Asus. They don't seem to be able to solve this problem as well as other brands or they simply don't care. But either way, you must buy a proper power cable, the adapters included with cards are too long and stiff, may hit the side panel or put stress on the card connector. Angled cables must be checked too, some like Seasonic are so short, the cable hits the fans and can't be properly inserted.

But for 4070 Super I went with the FE model. I dont need this OC extra stuff because it will mainly be used for Photoshop & Premiere Pro. Waiting for 5070 series to see what it's about, if the upgrade doesnt satisfy me as better than 4070 Ti Super, then I will get that and skip the 5000 series.

    I'm very impressed with that "Gaming"-version of the GB-cooler. On my non-Super 4070 Gaming OC (V1, which, I *think* uses the same cooler as the Super Gaming), it's keeping the card well under control, even with my highest additional OC which results in boost clocks of up to 3000 MHz and gave me a "legendary" score in Time Spy Extreme.. :D. Problem is that I'm looking to upgrade my 4070 as I need more raw GPU-power for VR-gaming ... and I don't really want to downgrade to a lower tier cooler - the only alternative I see to that GB Gaming-design (other than ludicrous stuff like Aorus/Strix, etc) is the Asus TUF - which is even more expensive than the GB Gaming.
    It's probably a silly notion as I've used a bare-bones Inno3D x2 2070 Super a while back (got it cheap from a buddy during the height of the GPU shortage) and that thing too did overclock pretty nicely.

    • @lukasjarka5340
      @lukasjarka5340 10 месяцев назад

      The OC version comes slightly overclocked from the factory. It is something that you can also do on your own so nothing to worry about.
      Although some OC cards may have the benefit of better overclocking abilities as the manufacturer chooses to put the better silicon in their OC cards.
      (you may reach slightly better overclocking speeds with an OC edition card).
      But for stock use or simple overclocking it makes no difference.
      Also, putting a cooler/heatsink this thick on a 220w card doesn't make much sense, because it doesn't matter if you have 60 or 65 degrees as both temps are really good.
      Go for a 2 fan card if you manage to find a cheaper one that you might like from a reputable brand.
      Nonetheless, which one did you choose if you did already?

    The RTX 4070 Super is more like what the original RTX 4070 should’ve been☺ and now this late in the GPU cycle…….it should be at max (Asus Strix pricing) $500USD!😳🤯
    I got my original RTX 4070 around launch time via an open box deal here in Australia 🇦🇺 for ~$490 USD plus local taxes, free game code and free express overnight shipping and it suits my HTPC setup perfectly being a smaller 2-fan Zotac O/C model. It games great for high refresh rate multiplayer titles at 1080p/1440p competitive settings and in addition 4k (DLSS Quality) high settings at around 60fps for single player tiles which looks great on my 4K LG OLED.
    Here in Australia 🇦🇺 currently the original RTX4070’s are selling around $899 AUD (including 10% GST (Tax)) whereas the RTX4070 Supers are between $1,120-$1,350 AUD 🤯🤯which is ridiculous making the original RTX4070 the much better deal imo!
    I think that the original RTX 4070 should be at least another ~$30USD cheaper (at RRP/MSRP) than the Super model to make it appealing as the current price difference is like the RTX4090 over the 4080 (at launch) …… an upsell tactic imo.

    • @slite3276
      @slite3276 11 месяцев назад

      so to "go over 100% power limit" you would be overclocking the card more then it already is. Usually the bigger 3 fan cards are made to be overclocked when compared to the 2 fan cards. So you could push that 220w power up to say 230w+, but I would watch videos on how to do it safely with ought ruining the card while also monitoring temps as well just to make sure everything is fine on the temp side of things. but overclocking cards doesn't get you all that much performance. It's an increase but usually not an eye opening increase unless your on the line of burning up the card.

I don't think you did your research either as Of the time this was posted you can get an MSI VENTUS 2X OC GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB for 725 on Newegg with there current 30 off that card coupon code. To buy these over that is not a good choice.

      In my country the Asus RTX 4070 super Dual OC is priced at ~670 euros (I managed to find it at 630€ also) while the Asus RTX 4070 ti TUF OC is at ~850 euros. (when it came out it was priced over 950 euros for over 2 months).
      That is about a 180 euro difference and you basically get a 8% performance increase for a 25% increase in price.
      I went for the RTX 4070 super Dual OC, I overclocked it slightly and now I am at similar performance level of an RTX 4070 Ti, achieving it with a lower wattage too. (I know overclocking the 4070 Ti would make it take the lead again, but I'm mentioning it just for the sake of comparison)
      So in my opinion it is worth it if you wanna save a little bit of money and you get a really really sweet deal for the buck.
      The cheapest 4070 Super here is at 620 euros, while the cheapest 4070 Ti is at 730 euros. But I would go with a beefier cooler if I had the Ti because of the increased wattage, which the Super card doesn't need because of the 65w lower TDP. So the price of the 4070 Ti would go up starting at 780 euros.
      I know you pay for the premium of the TUF so you might not consider it as a fair comparison, but very few people would get a 2 fan config, or even a cheap plastic 4070 Ti, while the 4070 Super Dual is very sweet in my opinion.
