  • Another video of me reviewing "wheelchairs of the future" - this one goes to the bottom of the list.
One of the biggest flaws I see with any futuristic-chairs is that they often do not have tilt. Tilt is essnetial for a lot of users for postural control, community access (up and down hills), sitting tolerance and pressure redistribution. Sometimes we may forgo the ability to tilt if it means we can transport/lift the chair into the back of the car. But this does neither. Boo!
    ❌ Can't tilt
    ❌ Can't be lifted
❌ Can't have customised seating (pressure cushions or back supports)
    ❌ Outdoor mobility looks limiting
But! 🍑 I do like this technology ✅. I think having a mind-body connection and having a product that allows wheelchair users to engage their core muscles while using the device is awesome! This can lead to improved posture, muscle tone, and overall physical engagement which has a positive physical and mental benefit. I think this as a concept is awesome but would be suitable for more users if it could be lifted into a car. If not, have more off-road capabilities like the #Omeo.

What do you think? Does it have more application that I am missing? Is this the future of wheelchairs?

I agree with everything you said. It looks gimmicky, not functional.

If only they put that time and effort into things people truly need! Like a lightweight joystick wheelchair that can tilt and go off-road (the dream!)
