Genesis - A Trick Of The Tail ( arr. Lorenzo Zonca) Emilio Capalbo: Keyboards Gigi Sanna : Drums Massimo Tore: Bass Ivano Carta: Guitar Coro: Studium Canticum dir. Stefania Pineider
Italy loves Genesis. It’s no wonder that this was so well done. I think that Genesis’ When In Rome 2007 DVD was filmed in front of half a million people at the Circus Maximus.
Isn't it wonderful that an album 50 years old, selected one of the tracks, treated with respect and presented very well. Great version and thanks for posting it Neil.
Bravo! Absolutely fantastic. I am a huge Genesis fan and the member of a Genesis tribute group based in Canada. I loved your rendition of this rarely heard classic. Thank you for posting.
I think there must be a Musical on Broadway for the Genesis story, Come on Tony Banks, you know how to do this, team up with Mike, Steve and Peter and get it done.
Bella versione!
Rich idea, if I remember everything in Genesis were written by composers like Tony Banks to played by performers in the future. Particularly the vocal part was awesome arranged for a chorale. So yes, you are giving justice to that purpose. Thank you!
This Choir really breathes the Song and performs it with Heart and Virtuosity. The Voice Arrangement is really complex. This one once more in a good Sssss(udio) would reallx sound great.
Bored of the life in the city of gold He'd left and let nobody know Gone were the towers he had known from a child Alone with the dream of a life He travelled the wide open road The blinkered arcade In search of another to share in his life. Nowhere Everyone looked so strange to him. They've got no horns and they've got no tail They don't even know of our existence. Am I wrong to believe in a city of gold That lies in the deep distance, he cried And wept as they led him away to a cage Beast that can talk, read the sign. The creatures they pushed and they prodded his frame And questioned his story again. But soon they grew bored of their prey The beast that can talk? More like a freak or publicity stunt. Oh No. They've got no horns and they've got no tail They don't even know of our existence. Am I wrong to believe in a city of gold That lies in the deep distance, he cried And broke down the door of the cage and marched on out. He grabbed a creature by the scruff of his neck, pointing out: There, beyond the bounds of your weak imagination Lie the noble towers of my city, bright and gold. Let me take you there, show you a living story Let me show you others such as me Why did I ever leave? They've got no horns and they've got no tail They don't even know of our existence Am I wrong to believe in a city of gold That lies in the deep distance, he cried And wept. And so we set out with the beast and his horns And his crazy description of home. After many days journey we came to a peak Where the beast gazed abroad and cried out. We followed his gaze and we thought that maybe we saw A spire of gold - no, a trick of the eye that's all, But the beast was gone and a voice was heard: They've got no horns and they've got no tail They don't even know of our existence Am I wrong to believe in a city of gold That lies in the deep distance Hello friend, welcome home.
Did i stumble into the time warp??? I hear genesis, but i see what looks like “rocky horror groupies” singing…in a good way no insult intended…they are a very ‘funky’ bunch indeed…👍🏼🔥😎
Bellissimo! That's just the sort of choir I want to sing in over here in the UK, one I've been looking for without success for ages so far - focusing on 70s prog and some 60s epics too. I really need to do this!
avete avuto un bel coraggio . . BRAVI e ripeto, coraggiosi : bene l' arrangiamento !
Came upon this by accident , I’m not a particular fan of Genesis but I bought A trick of the tail when it came out and it was disappointing bar this track - this is a wonderful tribute and so inspiringly done ✅ 👍🏴
Genesis music is well alive in all forms and versions. Thank you for this cheerful very enthousiastic version full of love and passion ! ❤
Just when you thought you'd heard every possible arrangement of Genesis, along comes this. Bravo!
Bravi
Brilliant comment! I do agree with you!👏👏👏
Italy loves Genesis. It’s no wonder that this was so well done. I think that Genesis’ When In Rome 2007 DVD was filmed in front of half a million people at the Circus Maximus.
It’s like it’s symbiotic with Québec at the same time.
Sure was!
Isn't it wonderful that an album 50 years old, selected one of the tracks, treated with respect and presented very well. Great version and thanks for posting it Neil.
What a fantastic fantastic rendition of a fantastic song by Genesis.
Brilliant. Timeless music. My favourite Genesis album. Wonderful to see the music still lives on.
Thanks for keeping alive the unique musical style and mastery of Genesis .... Their artistic genius needs to live on through the ages! ... 🎶
I would have signed up for my school's choir if they'd done things like this. A lovely rendition.
I’ve just come across this while listening to some Steve Hackett really made my day thank you so much
Brilliant version. Genesis great band. Continue to surprise. Great song.
Bravissimi!
Bravo! Absolutely fantastic. I am a huge Genesis fan and the member of a Genesis tribute group based in Canada. I loved your rendition of this rarely heard classic. Thank you for posting.
Thanks!
I keep coming back to watch this. So cool.

What a great idea!!
Just as long as it ends with Wind & Wuthering…
Parabéns, muito bom! Genesis é sempre sucesso! RJ, Brasil.🇧🇷
PROOF that Genesis made SYMPHONIC ROCK, which can be scored and played by any capable band.
je trouve ça tout bonnement génial!
Fabulous !! thank you so much all of you, fantastic
bravissimi!!! caricate tutti i video sui Genesis per favore, siete bravissimi 😍😍😍
Very cool. Enjoy the arrangement. Choir members seem to very much enjoy this performance.
Great performance, love your passion and groove. The arrangement is wonderful and the choir excellent. ♥️👍👏

Genesis music is so fun and you guys prove it. By the body movements alone it is joyful. Grazie.

Oooh this is amazing…great arrangement…. Please do more songs from Genesis … tour and come to the UK …
Das finde ich wirklich sehr gelungen! Danke dafür 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀👍
Excellent. I want to hear "Ripples" next.
How about Carpet Crawlers as well?
What a surprise!!😀Questa non me l’aspettavo!! Bravi😀
Vocalist and front-man Peter Gabriel had left Genesis before the Trick of the Tale album so it's great to see him here playing bass.
Bravissimi! And such good English that I didn't even realise you were all Italian until I read the comments!
I’m speechless! If’s so magnificently good. Thank you! ❤
molto simpatico e di buona qualità, bravi
Che figata 😍👏👏👏🔝🔝🔝

Did i stumble into the time warp??? I hear genesis, but i see what looks like “rocky horror groupies” singing…in a good way no insult intended…they are a very ‘funky’ bunch indeed…👍🏼🔥😎
Rocky horror?!?! Maybe Hair!...
I think maybe a 70s vibe going on there…
@@penponds but hippies and Hair where initially from the 60s and the rocky horror style is totally different...
This song its Classic music

Ottima interpretazione! 👏👏👏
Interesting that one of the best Genesis tribute bands, The Watch, is also Italian.
Wonderful arrangement!
Well done. Nice and tight without losing the the feel of the original.
Time is the best test of quality. Wonder how many of contemporary music stars will see the covers of their songs in 50 years ;-)
