- This 10-minute, uncut behind-the-scenes footage is packed with Ash's expert rundown of every essential piece of gear we're hauling into the jungle.
This kit will not only keep us safe, fed and (somewhat) comfortable, but will also allow us to deliver content straight to you… we’ll be filming a full camera breakdown once we get to the jungle so if you have any specific questions, leave them in the comments.
That was brilliant Ash. Would be great to see a video afterwards showing which kit was invaluable and which wasn’t really used
All the luck guys 👍
Doing things the rest of us could only dream of doing 💪
How are guys portaging the barrels on top of everything else you need to carry? I presume there's no cart this time due to the terrain.
If only you had biltong to take, better than jerky, not as processed. Just simple, tasty, dried meat packed full of real protein. I wish I could've sent you a box. Between the four of you it'd take up hardly any space. You could've hung the strips on your backpacks.
My gosh this is going to be the adventure of a lifetime! Take care and godspeed to all!!! I look forward to following along. Thank you for raising the awareness needed for these ecosystems and everything that lives within them x
FREE THE WILD! ❤
Hi Ash,
Had a watch of a few of your videos after you were mentioned via ThruDark.
What clothing have you had from them? Looks like the Oryon shirt you took out of the bag.
Also what is the brand of Kayak you are using? Never seen an inflatable that has toughened features to it.
Finally, so you ever take medics with you on your expeditions?
Best of luck with the expedition. I’ll be keeping an eye for updates on here. (I don’t have Instagram)
All the best mate! Followed you since you talked for work do in Llandudno theatre a few years back! Some stories and accomplishments already and so much more to come 🏴

@@isaachudson5304 Thanks bro!!! Got the spot ready 🫡
Good luck!
Good luck 🤞
Out of curiosity-
What medical kit are you taking, and what repair kit for the kayak.
What pin rescue recovery system are you taking?
What buoyancy aids are you taking?
What navigational aids are you taking?
how are you treating your water?
what is you evacuation plan after calling in for rescue as Assume helicopters won’t be able to lift from forest?
Also curious if there are any permits or legal requirements in Suriname or is it free roam laws?
Great questions!
We’ve made up our own medi kit based on what we’ll likely come across and need.
Taking patches with us but also a spare tube for the kayaks.
We have buoyancy jackets.
Map, compass, Gaia and spot gps.
We have water filtration systems (water-to-go and lifestraw).
We have heli evacuation if needed, the best in the country.
Yes, you need certain permits, especially for the central reserve, so we have them 🙌🏼
good luck guys! one question, how confident are you at being able to catch enough food with just a machete? Will you take a fishing rod or rifle?
only been watching since you went on the fellas but I'm locked in now 😂
@@jameswalker2212 Haha love that!! 😍
all the best brother, do you get nervous?
Good luck with the expedition love the work and effort you put in, especially making awarenss at same time.
Are you going to be supporting or providing links to send some money to the diffeent charities in Suriname?
Best of luck brother, smash it 🔥
@@niallkiddle Thank you!!!
Good luck brotha!
@@silvertooth1017 Thank you! 😃
Good luck mate you ever get any nerves ?
Love it mate! Would be great if you were able to add the names or links of the equipment and clothing you're using. Could use some of that tough gear myself!
@@SmokeyJay-p1r That’s a good shout! I have on my insta reel though, hopefully that’s helpful 😃🙌🏼
Thanks!!!
Awesome Ash, 1 question,... Water purification system or tablets?
Great run down! Piranha Jerky let’s see if the takes off!!

@@AshDykes okay thank you! And yesss I’ll absolutely be following you guys for the whole journey!!
Hello ! How many kayaks are you taking ? Just the one ?
All the very best what an adventure 😅
@@lorrainebuchanan6695 Four kayaks (one each). Thank you 🤩
☘️🙌🏼😎
@@calmcilwaine 😎🙏🏼
Wouldn't you want smaller lighter equipment like gopros to do the filming? Just seems weird to take massive cameras into the jungle. Genuinely curious is all.
He mentions in the clip that this will be being made into a documentary for TV - usually there is requirements that need to be hit like 2160p etc it’s inconvenient to carry such a heavy camera but it’s sort of needed
@@valentinaparraarevalo.3215 💯
@@KFrog_ Yeah that’s right…. Needed unfortunately 😅 but we have smaller cameras like GoPro and insta360 too 🙌🏼
