The best 'comedy' series EVER. Which raises and answers so many questions. When someone in our life dies, there is no hierarchy - Tony thought he had taken the grieving hierarchy away from Matt. When you love someone no matter the relationship: Mother, Father, Sibling, Partner the loss still feels as intense for you.
Yeah without Merchant he basically sits in the writing room, jots down the things that pissed him off that week then clocks off at lunchtime and makes a show out of it
BEST. SHOW. EVER!! I have never laughed and cried so much! Even my husband loved it! I swear this show has made our marriage stronger. Thank you for creating such an amazing show that is so true to life! ❤️😘❤️
@@neilhiggins8180 Well aren’t you a ray of sunshine! I feel all couples go through spells of getting caught up in the day to day life, and then a show like this comes along and helps you to remember what’s most important in life. So when my husband reaches over and grabs my hand during a show, then yes. If you haven’t found a love like theirs, then I hope you find it someday if your willing to open your heart up to it.
Ricky is so on point. Words are just sounds that we load up with our own perceptual projections. His ruthless humor takes them apart and pokes at us to wake up and get real about the absurdity of our illusory, human-made world. Laughter is the medicine of the soul. Thank you, Ricky.
I’m not being funny but I seriously doubt he was thinking that deep for the scene. Tony was giving that bloke a taste of his own medicine because “they’re just sounds”. That’s it. However, it’s a good analysis but not in the context of the scene.
@@connorripley12 Really? Mostly what Rick talks about on his podcast is philosophy. It’s not that far of a stretch to think that he actually thought about a scenes meaning.
F*cking hell alright mate, could've just said "Ricky realises that all this woke censorship of free speech is bs and I like that" Didn't have to make me read Shakespeare.
@@billybobs1705 ok so it’s clear you don’t like him… that’s okay. It’s alright if you don’t like him… but what’s that got anything to do with new generation? Me and my brother in law who is in his late 40s love him! If anything, its actually the other way around from what you were suggesting- it’s actually a lot of the younger people in this generation that don’t like him because a lot of them are snowflakes nowadays and therefore miss the cleverness of his humour because they get their feelings too much in the way. Ricky Gervais is an absolute champion. Great comedian, an amazing actor (watch Derek) and most of all, he speaks his mind and doesn't give a shit what people think.
Worst thing is when people out with their kids make half-assed 'attempts' to stop them from bothering people at nearby tables / wherever ("come on, leave those nice people alone, stop bothering them") hoping you'll smile and say it's not a problem so they can stop paying attention to their kids and they'll have roped you into keeping an eye on them too. I just ignore them entirely or say "thank you, that's appreciated".
He’s calling everyone c**ts for petty reasons. And taking his anger out on others. The only reason he gets away with it is because he’s a celebrity. In real life he would be arrested for anti social behaviour.
Was Tony Way's father an actor? He looks very similar to someone who used to pop up on TV shows quite often in the '80s but I can't recall his name. He had a very distinctive (to put it kindly) face.
He kind of reminds me of the actor Paul Brooke who is probably best known as the Rancor Guard in Return Of The Jedi. They both have a very distinctive look, and do a lot of character work.
Bringing up the particular actor reminds about fact there were at least three actors in After life cast who had a role in Game of thrones. Needless to say that all characters died during show so in a sense they really had new after life in After life. 🤔
I have never seen a TV series where I could cry and then laugh on the next minute. Brilliant 😭💯
100% I'll be crying almost sobbing .. then cracking up laughing
Laugh, cry, cringe. Great show.
im pretty sure you would really enjoy scrubs =)

This show was healing. I laughed and cried... beautiful ❤
Tony’s not a character, he’s just Ricky Gervais with a different name.
Is he. Ricky is tony , FANTASTIC
Tony isn’t a character. He’s a mood
💜 Tony's all of us

Totally agree with you my wife and I loved it sat and cried and laughed together the whole three series of it.

This series is brilliant, it’s the one series that the phrase “emotional roller coaster” literally describes it in one. Definitely a must watch

“They’re just sounds” finally someone said it, I’ve been saying that for years
Omg yes. Baby talk is such a weird western thing anyway ffs.
Offensive sounds though
I just love love love this series!! Was a big emotional when the series ended. I wish they had it longer tho.
I remember watching this at 2am crying and laughing at how sad and funny this show is it’s a masterpiece
This are a magnificent show, will go in the history books, Tony/Ricky’s very colorful language, simply love it

its gotta be one of the best series ive ever watched.
How liberating it must be for Ricky
One of the best shows I've ever seen, easily.
By far, the most intelligent and funny thing on TV.
You haven't watched a lot of tv have you?
@@Jimbobiscuitnah a lot of tv is brainless
It was such a good series, his character is my spirit animal
The guy that played Matt was excellent, I really enjoyed his character
The way Ricky grabs those CDs has my younger self fuming
Tony burped so hard he gave his bro-in-law a heart attack
😂
Don't be late for work , I definitely will be late .......I know ......brilliant show loved it all so much
0:13 The funny thing is, you just know he's done that to someone in real life.
probably karl lol
Poor karl@@mouse7965
I lost my wife just before this series, and it was SO accurate to my experience. Luckily, in the end not giving a f*ck has become a super power. 👍
Ride on Brother 🤘🏻🙏🏻
Best thing Gervais has done.
2:36 this moment made me crack up and I’m a spider man fan
Tony is my spirit animal..
Anyone else see this and just see their own future?
All jokes aside. Release,,self expression is very important for our wellbeing. You gotta let the shit out.
Hit the fucking nail mate! Stay beautiful 😍
I sometimes forgot Tony and his brother in law aren't related. Because they act like brothers
Afterlife is a masterpiece. Ricky, do a comedy based on Harry and his wife.
Now that would be hilarious

The height of my depression left after i fonsihed this show
Fuck,l like your attitude towards life, I'm 82 and feel the same, one life to live enjoy it because it's never gona enough.
Ricky Grevais is the kind of friend that like fuck everything and move on.
This is based on my life 😂😂 I'm surprised i didn't see the camera crew following me around for 10 years 😂😂
3:31 my favourite part
He seems very relatable
Just things that people think about doing but never have the guts to
DID HE SAY "LIGHTHOUSE MAN" WHILE IN THE CAR LOOKING AT THE CDS?! NO WAY!!!
"I DISAGREE!" Has me dead 😂
True that! Sounds indeed. QED
But the humanity he brings is beyond. I am not religious but I am of faith and I find nothing wrong with his attitude or beliefs.
He’s calling everyone c**ts for petty reasons. And taking his anger out on others.
The only reason he gets away with it is because he’s a celebrity. In real life he would be arrested for anti social behaviour.
It’s called grief? Watch the whole story and then see how you can get away mentally and emotionally up to date?
Even as a prick hes brilliant , likeable
You wouldn’t like him if you met him in real life.
Amazing that that rock went all the way to the front seat of that guy's car....
Genius 😍
i feel how tony feels right now, been really angry man.
the guy in the stripey top feels like he could be played by karl pilkington
The most unrealistic part is how no one knocked him out during the show 😂
Sooooo Cleverly Funny. PMSL :>)))
stop just showing season 3 clips
I had a Tony moment at a pedestrian crossing recently. Unfortunately I didn’t have a cactus but I called him a c….
That’s me in a few errrrr years ???
Funniest thing is how they've shown UK as sunny always lol
May be is deep deep southern part of empire. Diego garcia 🇬🇧 colony 😂😂😂 or Little bit north , Gibraltar 🇬🇮
youre talking shyt mist clips are dull wtf
Ricky gervais: the show 😂
0:36 What every person working in retail wished they could say to someone thats being annoying...
Tony needs to read the issue of Spider-Man where his Aunt was shot, and he kicked the absolute shit out of Kingpin as Peter Parker.
Or he could read good comics
@Jellybob69 Respect Spider-Man

Personally I feel like the third one didn’t have a much ‘funny’ as the other two series, the outtakes were funnier.
Spider-Man would have kicked your ass 😂
Nothing like a 63 year old trying to be “hip” about music
Ricky deserves a knighthood.
They are just sounds…🤣
Funniest saddest show iv ever seen on Netflix I ain’t exaggerating either 😂😂😂
I so wanna throw the brick. But it would cost too much in bricks.
A giant 9 year old who threatens to kill himself if you don't let him do whatever he wants. lol
Netflix biggest rip off..9.99 to 15.99..no thanks
Rick is just a miserable guy spreading his gloom wherever life might take him
I'd pay to see Spiderman kick ricky's ass.
Or kiss. Whichever
Sorry, self-pity, victim of his memories... (excuse to be ugly to the rest in pain survivors) talking about himself all the time... Uf!
