Honestly no idea why bsg hates SPT in the first place. The players that would really enjoy it weren’t going to play tarkov online anyway, the players that hate it won’t touch it, the player that like both will probably play more and give bsg more money and to top it all off you still have to buy full priced copies of tarkov to play SPT so bsg makes money no matter what happens. Seems like they should be recruiting the people who made SPT, not trying to cut them off

though i doubt they are in financial crisis. its just their UK co. that reports the loses, as you never want to be reporting a profit so it can be taxed. They have their base somewhere less taxed.

@@mnm8818 fair enough point but I'm not even aware of their financials at all. First I heard of them delaying taxes was today I've drawn this conclusion over the last few months and with what they've done over that time. We all know Arena was heavily marketed and invested in that much is clear separate studio traveling all over the world for game cons putting together tournies prize pools etc.
I expected them to bring kits to the market. Like Ryhzy Edition. Other editions giving better kits. Which is why the game is the way it is. Moding and kit building is one of the biggest appeals of Tarkov and they didn't put it in Arena. Why? Lazy? Maybe. Too heavily focused on the e-sport side? Maybe. But I truly believe it was because they wanted us to buy kits for a couple bucks a pop. They even talked about this in a dev stream or something I didn't just pull this idea out
of nowhere and it makes sense when you factor in we can't build anything. Kit sales were going to generate them the steady income they were needing because the game probably peaked a couple years ago. Don't get me wrong still insanely popular but how many people are just getting into it compared to 4 years ago ya know? I think they've gotten most of the consumers they ever will.
They backed off Arena and the editions cause it didn't grab a hold like they had hoped. Now they burned through their cash don't have a good flow coming in. No path forward. The simplest thing is the PvE mod. Limited investment. Great return on sales. The thing I'm struggling with is why it's not separate like CO-OP mode is. You can just buy the co-op mode no matter what edition. Either they didn't want to do that because then it's even more like DLC and validates the EOD anger or its a money grab before they throw everything in the trash and move on to the next project. I lean towards the first reason but the way they are acting makes me give the second reason more thought.
If they would have just copied the COD formula, arena probably would’ve worked.

Sadly it's also the best the game itself has felt in a log time. Sadly servers were ass and poorly performing all afternoon and now raids are dead as ppl didn't play because of the nonsense and the ppl who bought the shit and wanted to play couldn't.

They had the option of just giving out a PvE free DLC to EoD users and charging like £15 for standard accounts to access it + apologise. Instead they're literally illegally changing the terms of the EoD account's features after discontinuing it. Are they all on drugs or something? WTF?
Yeah, for them to continue head on for such a fixable issue shows they really must be in red numbers financially. They must be so in the need of instant money such that they can’t even afford to monetize via microtransactions.
they could have even said its not a DLC (its not downloadable, as PVE is the game but different game mode) but still have a price tag for EOD owners... still bad but less so than what happened... + they probably get more sales in the end anyway

I tried to log into my EOD account after not playing the game for many years and BSG had disabled my login. I tried to reach out to them and all they said to me was that they had no idea why it was deactivated but I'd have to pay them again if I wanted to access the game because of how many years it had been. I can't believe I supported them in the beginning....

I read the patch notes this morning and I earnestly checked the date on the article. I FULLY BELIEVED this was an April fool's joke. Absolutely baffling that they pulled such an eggregious move seemingly out of nowhere. It's almost grief-inspiring. I played this game for 5 years, and in one day the whole company just kills itself.

it's a PvE mode you pay $100 for, that you STILL have to wait in a "matching" queue for upwards of 10 minutes for. I bought it this morning before really looking into it; thought "hell yeah, that feature is exactly what I want, sounds like all the extra shit could be cool in offline only, No WAY they add it to the LIVE GAME". Boy was I naive. I can't even play the PoS I paid for!!!

BSG has destroyed any and all goodwill from the majority of their community with the Unheared Edition. BSG could have asked for help, and put out a simple "In hideout reward" cosmetic. Like a "I Saved BSG!" Poster, that hangs in your hideout for $50, and I would have bought it. But this blatantly greedy move has me disgusted. It's a slap in the face to all EOD supporters, and a kick in the nuts to anyone with a functioning brain.
I really hope you don't mean that you would have paid BSG 50 bucks just for an in-game poster...

(I think of Rust and all the cosmetic skins for furnaces, boxes, and doors) I could see a poster being a purchase (probably not $50 worth) but people want the game to succeed and if they need help there are many that will give whatever they can. But with the moves they are doing today, it really highlights the devious nature of the company and would severely limit any spending many would do.

Nikita admitted 1.0 is not gonna include open world, connected maps or a new medical system. They are already cancelling features planned for 1.0

i doubt it, you can check any company in the UK for taxation. Who are working on the board and who owns it and who files the reports. I snoop at work on near by businesses when theres nothing else to do. If theyve filed and delayed, they don't have the money. which means the cash has gone somewhere. So they need funds to pay their tax bill. I wouldnt be shocked if they have been skimming money or embezzling their cash. (even if they are the owner still illegal due to tax)
I wont delete the above, Just add to it. I decided to go digging in the HMRC, nothing posted for this year yet, and now nothing needed until october, odd. What was more odd is that the business (battlestate games) is registered to one Ludmila LIPSKAYA, who owns a variety of companies, including art, medical and apparently a video games firm. So, I went to 192, and shes got a number of registered addresses aswell. All in the SW3 area. She's been running BSG since 2016, my guess, they are using a proxy (familiy or or business holder of some description) to register in the UK.
It absolutely wiffs of a long play scam, or at the very least just a way to back out if something goes belly up. But if theyve been caught tampering with stuff live, then it might actually call into question the legal validity of the company. no tax, some random at the helm and altering stuff live on stream. some thing is up for sure.

As for the tax thing, they have between the 6th April 2024 to the 31st Jan 2025 to file the tax return for the previous tax year. They filed a shares redemption application but that doesn't affect their disclosure of any taxes paid or turnover as the still have loads of time to file(they always file on 31st of Jan).

It's quite remarkable that BSG really thought they could get away with editing their TOS. BSG clearly never heard of Wayback Machine and internet archives. Just absolutely bizarre.
I was already thinking of giving up the game after years of waiting for them to do a single thing about the hacker problem, now this... yeah uninstalled, never touching anything made by BSG again.
In the Nikita pestily interview do you recall that Nikita had this tone "we need to release 1.0. we need to release 1.0. 1.0 is the most important priority right now we MUST release 1.0.". I believe that they are in an exit strategy now to grab as much cash as they can, release the bare minimum standard of a 1.0, and then abandon everything.

It says in the expansions section on the website that the expansion has already been purchased for the co-op upgrade and I have EOD. Does that mean I have access to it or is that a glitch.

Its not a coincidence that the second EOD can longer be bought, they "hid" there taxes, and then come up with a new edition to try to get more money, and changed there promises. Its weird and sketchy, which is a shame...
It's so sad, I know bsg said no microtransactions years ago but if BSG had just simply been transparent about financial struggles and integrated authentic skins the community would have backed them up and they would have made waaay more money.

Jesus christ thank god there's so many alternate options coming out soon. I remember my friend telling me in 2020 tarkov was a scam but I didn't really see it at the time. Now I see it. It was a long con from the start and we all bought in.
I don't understand why they didn't lean more into cosmetics if they needed cash. Hell, if they released Unheard and included everything except the gamma and PvE people would be 10x more forgiving, alot of people would still be pissed but I'd bet most people would probably buy it and it wouldn't be against the law.

BSG has been known for shady business practices, particularly scamming people out of upgrading editions of the game. A lot of friends I know in the past would either upgrade their standard edition to something better, to only then be charged full price for that edition, as well as having some friends purchase EOD just to then be charged and then never receive a copy, or be provided with a standard edition game, with support basically saying there was nothing they were going to do about it.
