What was your ‘engine-out’ plan when flying low over the river and sycamore trees? Going to Bensen Days last year, I travelled Direct over miles of swamp land with high trees which made me a little uneasy. This year I have planned more IFR (I follow roads).
Oh it’s not without risks, that’s for sure. But your only at risks for a minority of the time. If you use google earth and help pick your route you take and help limit your risk. Go mostly over open fields, sometimes slight deviations can add only 10% to your time but really reduce your risks

I guess you are not allowed to takeoff from a taxiway. Maybe not long enough?
