Simply beautiful. Quite a process resulting in a such distinctive product, I loved watching this. Oh, and I think paint on your face is very acceptable!
Hi Peter. All good here except for a new water feature in our dining room. The flat above had a leak last night. But otherwise all good, hope you and yours are also okay. I will hopefully be posting the next stage on Friday. Keep well and all the best, Louise
Hi Louise, I really enjoyed the video. Beautiful process. Is the orange color fabric or paper? Have you tried the same process with regular paper? what do you use to get the papers to stick together? Thank you so much for showing us your amazing work and techniques. I love the things you make.
Hi. They are all papers, and yes, I have tried it with regular papers. However, they do not have the same qualities as the Mulberry Papers. The Mulberry paper is made using long filaments of Mulberry bark and these filaments can felt when manipulated and squeezed. Wood pulp paper is made from fine pulp and doesn't contain the linger filaments. The Mulberry papers felt together when agitated in a similar way to wool felting. There is no glue used. I hope this helps. Many thanks for watching and all the very best. Louise

Hi there.. Was so inspired by your videos and of course you that I bought a whole pile of handmade paper here in Seoul and am ready to start.. They don’t call it mulberry paper, they call it hanji… hope they result is the same …❤
Hi Sonia, sorry for the late response. Hanji is mulberry paper just the Korean name. So glad that the videos have inspired and good luck with it all. It requires some patience and also a sensitive response to the medium but Has loads of potential. Enjoy. X
@@LouiseJannetta can you tell me approximately the drying time??? I ended up not trying it because of fear of it still being wet when I have to leave..
@@raggapuss hi again. Drying time will depend on the thickness of the joomchied papers and also the temperature. But it needs to feel dry with no damp bits. I had to leave mine two days at least, but it is cold in my studio at this time of year. If you can put it in a warm place then drying time will be reduced x
No glue is used. The idea is that it is the manipulation with the hands that felts the fibres together. If you used glue then there is a possibility that everything will stick together. If it is just manipulated then you will be surprised at how it unravels between squeezing to just bond between the layers that you have put together and not between the squashed and squeezed layers within the ball in your hand. Good luck with it XXX😀
That is so interesting, but takes a lot of work, doesn’t it! Amazing how the papers become one. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Joan, yes it takes some patience and time but the results are lovely. Hope you get the chance to give it a go. Xx
What an amazing process 😮
Yep, this one is a lovely process the mulberry papers offer loads of potential. Good luck with it all X😀🍀
