It's hard for me to watch this fight knowing what happened to Thiago's knees and that he fought most of the fight like that. It's crazy what he was able to do, it kinda makes me queasy.
I dislocated my knee in wrestling, it went back into place instantly but did some damage to my acl or sum. Anyway I saw starts and had to sit down because when I tried to limp to the nurses, it hurt so bad. Could only imagine those kicks to the knee

@@brianmeen2158 yea i would imagine, since the op didn’t wanna say what actually happened to his knee, I had to google it. He didn’t JUST tear his acl, he tore his pcl,mcl and meniscus. Knowing the full extent of his injuries really made me think because my single torn ligament and dislocated knee was so painful that I got dizzy and felt like I was gonna be sick. Didn’t cry, but I was embarrassed since my dad saw it happen and I was clearly in pain and I was wanting to impress him since it was the first home meet we had that year. Saying that just to show that I had reason to try and hold back the pain I was feeling but I couldn’t. Yet santos, with 3 torn ligaments and meniscus ,showed very little reaction to the pain he was 100% feeling. 4 years before the wrestling incident, I broke my pinkie in a football game. Being 280 pounds, you couldn’t tell my pinkie was broke, just looked swollen (X-ray later showed a clean break, 1 bone had been turned into 2) so coaches brought my crying ass (this being my first broken bone and real injury, not ashamed to admit I cried😂)over to the bench and told me to toughen up, the receivers jam their fingers all the time and sent me back out. Got 3 tackles after at least , only by shoulder checking tho, I wasn’t bouta wrap them up and fall on my finger. Went 3 days without going to er. TLDR-Santos has crazy pain tolerance since he had 4 separate major knee injury’s, yet kept fighting like nothing was wrong other then a limp

I'd probably have it 48-47 Santos but it's a championship fight and if it comes down to that close of a fight most of the time the champ gets the benefit of the doubt which I think is fair I just would've liked to see john lose this one

It’s too bad these two didn’t get a second fight. That kick Thiago threw popped that knee, he just didn’t have the intensity after that.

That fight was about as close as it gets. Wouldn’t have been surprised if it had gone the other way. I guess in a championship fight you have to decisively defeat the champion - it can’t just be just kind of drawish.

This was the last time Santos looked really sharp and explosive. That double knee surgery really hurt his skill set as he doesn’t have that explosiveness anymore

The worst pain I’ve ever felt was when I ruptured my right ACL playing soccer. Hobbled around on it for 27 years before my knee just quit working. Had a RTKR in ‘12, though I wish I’d done it sooner.
It actually looked like the worse call for this fight should have been at least a draw because in hindsight the handicapped fighter literally threw more shots and more shots that landed. Just imagine how much more dangerous he would be without the injury. I think this decision wasn't really fair

I played many od sports with a Torning ACL. I would play basketball, my knee would pop out, and would fall to the ground. I would then pop. it back in and play again but no one would play anymore. I then decided to get an operation.
Jones leg kicks reminds me of how much of a weapon it was for conor earlier in his career but then seemed to detach himself and lean into the stand up. I want to see conor using his legs vs chabdler. He used to effortlessly use his legs. Shit bring back the Ceronoe shoulder hits grappling against the cage.
