For some reason IMSA has the video hidden in the 2024 Micheline Pilot Challenge playlist. If you try playing it you get a message that says "THE UPLOADER HAS NOT MADE THIS VIDEO AVAILABLE IN YOUR COUNTRY".
Imsa sure changed a lot. No video on mid Ohio and no gtd or gtp vehicles for this race
@@drezdin4557 it's a GT4 and TCR class race, hence no GTD or GTP cars. You need the Sahlens 6 Hours at the Glen to see the GT3/DPI 2.0 cars sir.

@@coliimusic no, I’m not falling for the business model that says “we’ll make it so irritating for you to use the standard product that you have to pay us to stop irritating you”. I’ll just stop watching. Some ads are fine, but when it’s a nearly a 2:1 ratio of footage vs ads I think they’re taking liberties.

I watch on a Sony Bravia Google TV through the YT app....here you can exit the stupid ads and click on the video again and it will usually play a 5 sec ad after or none at all.
But yeah, I feel your pain....it used to be 100% crap free in year's past.

Do the imsa gs cars all have the same transmission? I saw the pdk looking trans in the Porsche but the mustang gt or dark horse either come with an auto or manual, no dct. The Porsche looked like a stock transmission.
They all use the same type of transmission, using an automated 6-speed manual without a clutch, FIA would never have cars with different drivetrains racing each other as it would beat the purpose of close competition and the whole balance of power.
BHP is the same, so is the weight and mechanical components, it's the only way this all can make sense and be about car setups and not the latest tech each car comes with factory stock.
BTW, the 6-speed Dark Horse from Mustang Challenge is much different from a homologated Mustang GT4 you see here.

Yes, agreed, the driving standards this year do look rather like when console simcade racers go into a PC-only "proper" sim like iracing and start punting people off because that's how they're used to racing.
The driving standards definitely have been steadily declining the last couple of years. Jeremy's frustration has been audibly bubbling over during the commentary recently and he only catches himself some of the time. I guess it's the natural result of the field size having swelled and the new entries often include drivers who are enthusiastic about racing, but really aren't ready to compete at this level without some more experience.
It's so cool that Aston-Martin has returned to a proper front end, those older '19 are so ugly and far away from what the company's traditional look was.
