Hey kym the reason lando and zak headed to Slovenia is because the man in the video with them in the black shirt is Anze kopitar. Professional ice hockey player for the los angels kings in the NHL who’s good friends with zak and is from Slovenia!
True, but it does add some of the background of what drivers can stand each other and who is more isolated (Lance, Checo) and who never shows up on the private jets (Magnussen).
LX-SCO is owned by Fernando, managed and registered under Luxembourg Air. Sergio also owns XA-ASP through Performance Air. When you follow their flights they only go where these drivers go. Defiantly they are not charter planes. I watch these guys fly in on the flight tracking software, it is neat seeing videos of them hoping out. I always wondered who else was on these planes, now I know. Thanks for bringing this.
@@shreyas8954 Lewis sold his plane in 2019 to reduce carbon footprint. He flies commercial and chartered and shares planes if possible. He used to do that with Seb. Can't always but apparently tries to.

The hypocrisy and pretence about more environmentally friendly F1 cars in 2026 is a joke when everyone takes a private jet. Spare us the lecturing and go back to naturally aspirated v10's or v12's
Thanks for the explanation if the drivers pay for the jets or not. I wondered about that. Max is the only driver who has a jet since Lewis had sold his years ago. I did see a video clip of several Williams team members with Alex and Logan on a private charter flight heading back to the UK. Have a great summer break Kym!
Correction: There are at least two drivers currently own their own jets… Along with Max Verstappen owning a Dassault Falcon 900EX (PH-DTF), Sergio Pérez also owns a Bombardier Challenger 604 (XA-ASP). You will notice in the video that the aircraft has a Mexican flag by the door and the last two letters of its registration are Sergio’s initials.

lol no wonder Checo needs to keep driving. The dude spent 150000 euros to fly back to Mexico when he could have done it in one go on a commercial flight for a fraction of the price.
Grossly overestimated by Kym. He owns the plane so it's cheaper for him but charter for that type is roughly 6K / hour. Operating cost for that plane is approx. 4800/hour if he flies it 400 hours per year. The flight was approx. 13 hours flight time so cost would have been around 62K. Highest class ticket (Business or First) for that trip would have been >9K per passenger (he was not traveling alone) BUT he would have had to wait until the Monday to travel, his flight would have had two changeovers instead of just one refueling stop, be at least 6 hours longer. He would also not have been able to travel from Liege but would have had to go to Brussels Airport, be there well in advance and go through normal passport control.
Anyone else wondering why Gunther was with Fred? I know all of these guys are friends but I wonder if there may be a job for him at Ferrari. Although it does seem that he left on his own from the airport.
I know the VIPs can afford it, but it still hurts to see most of these planes fly half-empty. Why not take at least a few regular team members along to fill the empty seats?
