@@jazzysphinx6610 If you want to say "Pickle" it's your choice not mine after all... (😏/😉) ((Again I just point out small mistakes of your's, but I don't wanted to be mean))
I'd guess what happened is they went "wait, we can't just add zombie maps to the game, none of our characters or mechanics are built around zombie defense" and then they decided to make GW2 instead.
The fact that we could have had these maps on two separate actuations and both went to scrap i makes you think if GW2 was ment to be an update the whole time
I made a video about these Scrapped Zombified Maps a few months back glad to see more channels talking about this interesting unused content i didnt know these were meant for a GW1 Update i thought they were meant for GW2 i still love playing GW1 today i wish Brainz Street was released it was almost completed it would been to play great video btw.
Stuff like this is so cool to me, knowing that there was so much cancelled stuff for my favourite game of all time and finally knowing about it is crazy, there is a zombot in the files that someone was able to re add to gw1, and he found a very early working version of it. I’m sure you’ve seen the vid. But yeah great video
No, all of the zombified maps in gw2 were intentionally meant to be an adaptation. The reason the zombot fight follows the same format (in terms of endings) is because it is, by nature, an adaptation. The reason that time park has the original plant cap point is because it is “Time Park”, the whole point is going through the past, and seeing as gw1 came out in the past, I wouldn’t be surprised if that was intentional. While I’m on the topic of time park, I might as well add that the vans that you’ve pointed out are not in gw1. Finally (to end off this novel of a comment), While obviously, the assets found in the files of gw1 (imp+mech, future garg, future imp, and future soldier) are not being used in gw1, all that proves is that this game that has been 8 years out of service had a few concepts that were cancelled without being removed, with no correlation to a “gw1.5” or whatever.
I remember seeing somewhere that someone was able to load Brainstreet into Gw2, but it was very glitchy or something and they didnt get many pictures or a video. Other than that, great video! This is very intriguing info to have!
The reason why I don’t think they did not add brainstreet and the zombiefied wallnut hills (as judging from the concept art for Dave manor) was most likely because both maps had 7 objectives and the new maps have all 6 maps for gardens and graveyards (seeds of time and great white north speaking of that map that map also has a gw1 feel if you think about it) so to make it more consistent they redid the maps into zomburbia and Zombopolis so that they have more consistency. I am now mad as we could have gotten a peak update, although I am not sure if I am entirely convinced I think there needs to be more evidence that kind of confirms outright as they could be just re using assets as in the files for seeds of time it’s stated it has data from cactus canyon plus it would be weird to have the same mini game from both maps in one games so I think all the gw2 gardens and graveyard maps were made for it, while the remixed maps were possibly going to be for garden warfare 1.5 update Also I am pretty sure the disco balls were used in gw1 as Gw1 before they stopped working on it had community events and challenges
seeds of time seems to be not a part of this, and was mostly the transition to gw2 where seeds of time became their main priority, another thing i should mention is most stuff that you mentioned to be "in the files" are not actually in the files but were test renders, for example imp and robo zombie, very easy to tell that theyre just test renders especially when you look at their materials and such, as for the seeds of time thing again, it may have been an extra map to actually keep gardens and graveyards as a game mode in the rotation along with most likely some other maps, also each and every gw1 map was ment to be zombified, not just the turf ones, that is why aqua center exists.
I'd much more like to see these maps in GW1 instead of GW2, since we wouldn't have the 6 (technically 8 if we incude goat and tochy) extra charachters that i really don't like GW2 for, and the style is undoubtly better in GW1 imo; That's why i play GW1 to this day (and cosmetics). This info was certainly interesting, good job!
I have a theory that brain street and all the other zombified maps and the beta seeds of time map were almost completed since they talked about it in the livestream the fact that the imp,the little bot imps and the mech gargantua had full models in gw1 and the fact that brain street was fully made in gw2 before they scrapped it and made it into zombopolis, scrapping the update was probably a late decision since they thought it got released
Riddle me this, if these maps were going to be added to gw1 as new maps, then why would there be zombified maps when the plants had more control and were the only group on the defensive side of turf takeover in gw1 and the zombies were only able to have enough control to be on the defensive side in turf takeover in gw2?
The most we’re likely to get is some updates to the rux and mystery portal rotations. Possibly even some form of community reward thing like we used to get
Wow. This is all cool to know. But in fairness to Popcap, it made sense to make it a sequel instead of an update. They had so many new ideas for maps and characters and stuff that it just makes sense to have made a whole new game. And while I'm disappointed the zombified GW1 maps weren't brought into the game, you gotta admit Zombopolis is a little bit more creative than just completely redesigning Main Street. Either way, thanks for informing us of all this cool stuff.
i think for brain street there was probaly issues with the new characters, changing it like they did garden center would have cost alot more resources due to the larger map size, evident by the fact the new guys simply arent playable in wallnut hills in gw2, choosing to scrap it, port over wallnut hills for the legacy turf map and use the assets to create zombopalis as for gw1.5 i think it would have been a new gen (at the time ps4 and xbox one) version of the game, separate from the first entirely similar to something like the many versions of fighting games or something like persona 5 to p5 royal, oppose to a new update, maybe the higher ups realised this would never sell as well as a sequel, which then allowed them to go from the ground up, adding things like the new level up system and the hubworld. ngl i kinda hope ea gets hacked one day and all this gets out in full
this whole video is just explaining an idea the devs had for the smallest bit until they realized they were just gonna make a new game. also when you talk about the livestream at 4:13 it is so clear the devs were just trolling you. “this thing was in garden warfare 1 but as a secret 🤫.” like dude they worked on the game, they wouldn’t have forgotten that they never added a huge update. it is such an obvious troll where they just wanted to make the fans, who knew about the zombie maps, happy. just a little poke at some trivia for them, like “hey guys remember brains street the map that we totally added. it was a secret lol”
I don’t think gw2 was a scrapped update for gw1 also the zombies maps were meant for gw2 some just has the gw1 style as do some of the concepts maybe it is possible they thought of it but scrapped it and brought the ideas over to garden warfare 2
you literally know nothing. These screenshots are literally from gw2. The garden warfare 1 assets were used because they were still making the gw2 assets like the capture points. gw1.5 Literally was made as ground work for gw2.

So, GW2 was supposed to be an update for GW1? That's really interesting.
no
Garden Warfare 2 needs to add Custom Maps like Team Fortress 2 Workshop Did!
The downside of that will probably be that EA gonna charge a lot for each map
well private servers will cover that one once they are finished
@@RufousGW2 no they wont, you need the frostbite engine tools to make a map and no one but people in EA have that.
