If you are surprised at how Medvedev's seemingly insane behaviour didn't get him a code, that was because he didn't deserve one. Tonight, the umpire thoroughly failed his job, small cat or not. The umpire allowed a grand slam semifinal to be a circus and did nothing when the crowd shout out rude comments at Medvedev right before Medvedev went into the service motion. Even the commentators couldn't believe the umpire's lack of action. There was so much hostile distraction everywhere against Medvedev, and the umpire let it be - Medvedev's outburst was ugly but not unnecessary. Ump should have done his job and penalize the ever cheating Tsitsipas two. Notice that the umpire knows Daniil is right, hence why he tries to avoid the question and let it pass. Only AFTER this public spat, did the ump suddenly call out the cheating coaching dad. Had Daniil been any friendlier, he would not have been taken seriously, its as sad as that. Add to this ridiculous zoo like crowd, booing between 1st and 2nd serve, not being restrained by the refs and Daniil the last grand slam winner not even being scheduled on center court until the semi finals, and he has every reason to be pssed off
