what a joy to find this. I met Suzanne at her studio in NYC in the 80's, when I set up a visit to share some DX7 programming with her...A rare talent, to be sure.......
EXTRAORDINARY Me .SUZANNE CLANI. AS AFAR I'M CONCERN THE DISCOVERY OF ITS LIVE PERFORMANCE ON BUCHLA WAS a MUSICAL REVELATION IN ELECTRONIC MUSIC THANKS MADAMECLANI, RESPECT AND CONGRATULATIONS
I'm so excited. I got me tix to see her live at the Zebulon in Los Angeles Dec. 15th 2021. This will be my second time seeing her live. Last time I was front row and center and we talked afterwards. Such a magical show and wonderful person. 🥰
Hey Suzanne, please don't forget about us electro-acoustical creatures here on youtube. We want to see and hear more of your amazing journeys, I'm sure they continue?, please share (please upload)!
Cette complainte ne se déplie pas comme un livre d'images plein d'étoiles, où viennent filer les oiseaux, tourner les farandoles, claquer les crécelles et danser les sorciers et on peut le regretter
I'm looking for the music at the start of the pinball TV programme video. Sublime. I wondered if it was from Seven Waves but I'm not sure and I wonder what instruments were used. ruclips.net/video/r28i-k3mL3o/видео.html Suzanne had a Rev 1 Prophet-5 and a Synclavier in the studio on the clip but the music might have been from an earlier time. I need to get some of her records.
she'd be right at home at a Radiohead concert during a live show. very nice. I think Dave Letterman is kind-of a jerk (her most popular video), but it was great to see the enthusiasm and passion, glad to find a new sub :).
Ciani recounted that she and several other employees were keen to learn more about using the synthesiser, so she approached Ed Buchla and asked if he would conduct tutorial sessions for them. Buchla initially agreed, but at the end of the first class he took Ciani aside and declared "We've decided that we don't want women in the class.", to which the horrified Ciani retorted, "But I'm the only woman in the class! So I am surprised that she performed here.
Buchla eventually took her on as an apprentice, and they became quite close. His instruction and knowledge of the tech was extremely influential to her style, and she considers her one buchla synthesizer one of her most prized possessions.
If I realized back when I was 11 years old, I could be famous just for making bleeps and bloops with electronic equipment, I'd be rich. I used to have an old portable AM FM transistor radio That would beep, bloop, groan, squeal whenever I touched the pc board with my hands. Here she simply doing nothing but playing with sounds. I doubt she could replicate this same stuff again live and have it match. FUN FACT: Suzanne Ciani recorded her voice and sounds for Bally, to put in their Xenon pinball machine in 1980!
Grammy, what are doing? Shouldn't you be knitting or something? At least doing the washing up or folding clothes? What's with all with all this synth stuff?

You met her at a meeting you scheduled with her?
haha
I was able to work with the Buchla synth at the University of Chicago at the beginning of the 80s. Great tool, amazing sound.
One of the 1st CDs I ever purchased was "Ms. Ciani's "The Velocity of Love". We're Blessed to have her talented mind, & works. ❤️
Suzanne Ciani did the music for Colombia Pictures intro in 1976. Brilliant job.

I am hearing Looker!
👏👏👏💕
Would give anything to see Suzanne Ciani and Kraftwerk perform together.
I can do one better:
Suzanne + Royksopp
or
Suzanne + Daft Punk
or better still
Suzanne + Hawkwind
👍❤️
Brilliant trippy and cerebral. An advance on her '75 work imho
💐thanks so much for sharing this.. one of the best ever, even though we’re enjoying it in stereo.. Please offer it for sale someday ?😎🌹

Somebody is missing the point complete about improvisation and modular synthesis... oh well. There's always Taylor Swift for you.
Maybe have a go with a modular synth and let us know how easy it is.
Only female musician i know with real talent that ressonate with me artistically so relaxing ♥️
