Here in the states, Heron's Bonsai often reminds me of how late I am awake. Watching along is a great way to end a day, and an even better way to begin it. Cheers!

Morning all. I love that you are developing garden trees. I have a few that I haven't paid much attention too for years. I'm now starting to look at them differently. 😊

Beautiful work, and such amazing patience to move it forward. In the next few years, it’s beauty will be revealed in full. Love the bold choices with no regrets!

    _THANK YOU 🙏 😔 🙏 _
Dr. Chan, you bit the _bullets_ on that one. Those were some bold cuts. I like the "new" tree. Please show it to us next summer.
It was nice to see another garden development. I like big trees in Bonsai styles.
I hope you enjoy some of the timber for a Yuletime fire. As we say, "a Cedar log on the fire, trims the whole house."
    🙏 🖖 🙏 😔 🙏

Breaking news! Carnage at Herons. The renowned bonsai master Peter Chan aided by his assistant, Josh went berserk and mauled a venerable juniper beyond recognition. Even as the dust settles and his viewers come out of shock, we ask the question - What next Peter Chan? 😀

You have been good to the trees and the trees have been good to you.

How are those little cuttings you dipped in rooting powder doing?? If they're taking maybe you could try doing the same with the cuttings from this tree to see if larger cuttings will root. 👍👍

I believe it is a landmark for pilots coming in to land at Gatwick. There is also a Mormon church with a very tall spire next to our nursery and that is definitely used as a landmark I have been told.

    Hi peter
I have a variegated kaizuka that was the first plant I bought for bonsai, from a distance It looked a lot like a weeping willow in spring so I styled it to try and emphasise that image. A few years later I'm fed up with the dieback on the weak blonde/yellow foliage and would like to graft it to get rid of the variegation. Which varieties are similar in colour as the cuttings I bought from your nursery (possibly blaauws) looked very blue in comparison, and I like the shade of green on this plant

San Jose juniper is good as are the Blaauws.

Why don't you try to pull down some of the branches with guy wires Peter? It looks unfinished....I mean aside from the Jins.

I sorry but to me this pruning looks like a huge mistake. I preferred a big tree as it was - strong and healthy looking. Maybe some fine pruning of minor branches could do.
