That turned out beautifully. I would have been afraid to cut off 35 plus years of growth, but, wow! I love the transformation. Thank you for letting us watch you work.
I love the fact that you and the client are willing to think outside of the box and “see” past what there only. Great insight. Thank you for sharing with video.
Absolutely stunning transformation! It was a beautiful tree to begin with, now made even more lovely! I adore the gin. It gives this tree so much character! I can't wait until you post a follow up video to show how you pot it. With the proper pot and refinement of the gin completed this is truly going to be a magical specimen. Love it!
Dr. Chan, thank you for showing us this great work, it is a very interesting. The very tall center branch was out of control. The outcome was an ultimate solution. 🙏 🖖 🙏 😔 🙏 🙏 🙏
Thankyou for your videos, I've had a particular jumiper for a few years and finally I looked at it from an angle I never though of which was from the top and looks like a completely new tree! Love it now , thanks for your thinking outside the box advice!
Beautiful tree! I think the gin is perfect where it is at. In a few years the side branches will be the same thickness and it will look as though (if it were in nature) the center brach failed and the tree made a new one that grew in the same manner as the original one.
May take would have put awesome Bends in the Three Branches to Keep all the Needles for energy to the Roots and install a New Pot for the New Design. But Peter is the Master . PS as tall was those Branches were it could have overlap Branches to make them thicker.
Dear Peter, now that we are so close to Christmas and time of gifts, are you able to give advice on selecting bonsai? There is an overwhelming supply of various bonsai, so it may be tricky to disntinguish what will make a good (and easy to maintain) gift. I've set my eyes on a few small junipers, but need some tips on selecting the right one. Thanks!
I have been noticing that some of these bonsai have a lean I noticed this once before they are being customers have them growing near old paint cans on the property somewhere near the bonsai this happens with led based I studied chemistry and Botany
5mm copper would've been able to set those branches without the need to split them. That would've made a lovely twin trunk pine with those two left hand trunk lines and forming a jin with the right trunk. Shame

I'm always thrilled when Peter Chan does the very thing I would have done to the tree. The tree now has much more appeal in this compact form.
I agree with the direction the tree is going. That long leggy top need to go, those wire marks on it is an eyesore.
Wow what a transformation! I would be afraid of cutting all the top, but now it makes sense! Beautiful!!!!❤
Another amazing transformation, I'm hoping to visit the nursery in the new year and can't wait.
Love it! Absolutely right about cutting the top.
amazing result. Did not expect that.
Always expect the unexpected with me.
Great Master Peter!! Greetings from Portugal! 🙏
Thx for sharing Peter 👍
Peter is a good man!!!
Fun transmission, a challenging plant with a lot of potential. And so many ways to guide this one.
You make every tree a work off art, thanks for all your videos, you bring bonsai closer to The heart
Great outcome!!!!, Thank you.

Totally a beautiful transformation!
Looks so much better!!! Almost reminds me of a Chinese style semi cascade bunjingi
Wow, what a transformation. Thank you for sharing.
Truly a dramatic transformation, by the way even I use ties as here to lower the branches! Only now I’ve become bold enough to think of wires
good job

Could have made another nice tree by air layering that too:)
Beautiful job!
Mr: Peter how I collect kaneshin bonsai tools? From India🇮🇳

What is an easier bonsai: sylvestris or mugo?
Depends on the tree. Both are good but find ones that have lots of branches so that you have a choice of which to cut.
@@peterchan3100 I meant starting from seed.
Peter is like if Mr Miyagi and Mr Rogers became one person.
great analogy! just perfect.
@@sophiesmith5922 ^_^
Is it possible to bend the jin downward? Will it eventually hold in place although it is dead?
You can by steaming it.
@@peterchan3100 thank you. Not a technique I've seen. Very interesting,
"You want the pleasure of cutting it off ?"
"Go on I will yeah"
"I'll do it" ✂️
😂😂😂
Crazy man with a box cutter lol
I like to leave my client trees in the cold for 25-30 min in open air before I style them in case of led exposure does the job
8:34 can those cuttings be propagated?
Wait! I thought there wod be an before n after?
Any update on this tree?
Can you do a Fukien Tea Tree video?

peter chan moss trick in english subtitle - pizza chain Masstricht
May I ask, why not cut off the top and graft it to a new rootstock? Couldn't you make two trees then?
No it won't work - grafting is usually done with young scions.

second!

Peter what is the tree beside the tree you were working on? Its beautiful
We have lots of beautiful trees - the one at the end of the video is an old Chinese Juniper which we have had for years. Still being refined.
@@peterchan3100 Its beautiful peter...
