I love when any of the guys talk about Home and how different it was. It is still to this day one of the most unique sounding records I've ever heard. The music had this atonal, dissonant, chaotic scale type feel to it. And LJ put these soulful melodies on top of it all. It's so awesome. Home converted my 13 year old brain into a metalhead brain. Excellent interview. Morgan is the man.

Got here late... Morgan is one of my heroes and it's so sad to see the European tour fell through. They really deserved that exposure. I hope he's on the mend now because he has a lot more creativity to share with the world. We love you man, this crazy Sevendust extended family of fans is pulling for you.

Morgan is def not an economy drummer. But the passion that comes out in the physical aspect of his playing is absolutely inspirational. It's a real physical personification of the music. He leaves it ALL on the field, getting all that frustration out with a physical instrument is therapy in itself.

By far, my all time favorite drummer, he's an amazing sole and drummer, ambidextrous. I've had the luxury of meeting Morgan several times, every single time he takes the time in speaking with you and getting to know you.

Dude! As a 20+ yr fan of 7D. Thank you! You have given every member of Sevendust great spotlight to share their story and above all you seem to be quite the fan yourself which made this even more great to watch and listen. I also like to think bc you are a fan of them is why you gave such an in depth interview and asked all the right questions. These guys are workhorses and I love their commitment 24/7 to making such great music. Long live Sevendust!

  • @bumzigan

That was such a great interview, and Morgan is so real about everything. Apart from being such a great drummer , band member and showman, Morgan seems to be totally unpretentious, honest and genuinely grateful for his ability to make music with Sevendust. Huge respect! Also a really well conducted interview with great questions. Thanks

Such an awesome and heartfelt interview. Morgan and Sevendust are real people and so underestimated. They're not puppets. They're true, real, humble, genuine and raw. I've looked up to these guys since the Wreck Room days in Atlanta.

I've been out of the loop with Sevendust for a long time, been spending the past year goin back and listening to the newest album, back down the line, Morgan, you're a badass drummer. You inspired me to learn how to play a drum kit. I would have to say, Blood and Stone, All I See Is War, Home, and a few others I've listened to, even the acoustic album was badass.

The first album's production was probably some of the last albums I heard that had such a raw and unique sound...I guess I should say it was to my tastes amazing...Animosity was really really well produced but still had a great unique feeling...but many other albums were too generically produced imo that goes for most bands out in the past 10 years they follow the same cookie cutter production formula. BTW this is one of the best interviews I've ever seen...kudos Scott...we need more of this type of interview going through albums ...no one gives a sh*t about the art of albums anymore (mainstream) it's all disposable now.

This was awesome! As a drummer myself and a long-time fan of Sevendust since their first 2 albums - I found this fascinating.
I really need to listen to their more recent albums as Chapter 7 is the last one I heard and thought the band was done (atleast creatively) but to hear Morgan himself refer to that as his least favourite album, gives me hope for the other's so Im keen to check them out.
Also, how has this video only got 300 something likes?!!

Awesome interview, and questions Scott. It's good to hear in depth comments from the writer himself on each record. Surprised how Morgan mentioned during Hope and Sorrow how they needed Clint back, to me they were sounding fine though. I actually prefer Sonny's era..and Clint was with Dark New Day. Lol..mainly because Dark New Day was awesome as well.
