    Notice how little Lars interrupted Dave during the interview. He asks his question, elaborates a little and just lets him talk.

Just two musicians with knowledge and memories that share things out of their heart. So genuine, so pleasant to watch.

Also, Lars may not have the technical chops of some metal drummers, but he is an innovator and inspired countless kids to play drums. He's also a monster songwriter and arranger. He plays for the song, and his drumming is perfect for Metallica.

      Lars is actually good at this, which surprises me. To be a good interviewer, you have to actually stop and listen to your guest speak, not talk over them, and be interested in their answers. Lars does this really well, and it doesn't typically come easy to people who are famous or celebrities themselves. Nine times out of ten, they're the ones answering the questions so they have little practice, and lets face it, Lars never met a microphone he didn't love. I'm very pleasantly surprised at how well he handles the host role.

      Roxanne Moser It's incredible that people always have to talk badly about Larsˋ's drumming abilities and skills. First, it was Lars who founded Metallica. And Lars has given Metallica the sound Metallica should have and he is a fantastic song writer. He became known as a pioneer in fast thrash metal drum beats and later known through his popularity and drum technique (the double-major drum beat in song One) and many do not respect him today as a good drummer because the way he plays as he was very popular in the 80's you don't play that much anymore. Without Lars, no Metallica and I'm pretty sure he smiles and laughs all the way down the bank compared to certain others 🤘🏻

      Michael Meacham - Based on your message, I figure that like me, you are not a fan of Nirvana. While there is no denying that Grohl is a great drummer, he was about the only thing musical about Nirvana. There were absolutely awful. It do not understand how or why they are regarded as such a great band. There really wasn't anything good about them. They made sounding bad, hip. It is really, really terrible. Bad songs along with bad musicianship is not something to aspire to be like, if you are an up and coming band. So in summary, as a musician, I feel that Nirvana set the music world back about 100 years. They were absolutely awful. Awful, I say!

    • @wesabrahams1699
      @wesabrahams1699 7 лет назад +5

    I remember back in my late teens, I was a fan of Metallica, I couldn't stand Lars because he came out against Napster. Fast forward 20 years, rock is dead, Lars was probably right, and he seems like a great guy. Also, he's an amazing interviewer.

    • @likestoospooge
      @likestoospooge 4 года назад +31

      “Probably right”.
      Haha. I’ve never understood how the legality of stealing music was ever up for debate. To this day people still say there was nothing wrong with Napster and downloading music for free. It’s mind boggling. I used it too because I was broke, but at least I could admit I was stealing...

      @@likestoospooge Oh god. A band that had sold 70 million by the time it happened they're all millionaires and at the end of the day Metallica got big from people copying their demo tape and it reaching people. Napster was very beneficial to bands that were just getting going and able to reach more people because of the platform and the money bands like Metallica lost was minuscule. There was no stopping people from burning cds and giving them to friends, this was no different. The dumb part about lars was he may have "won" again Napster but everyone knew it was a losing fight. Look today you can find every Metallica album on RUclips download the audio and convert to iTunes in 5 minutes. With mp3 coming in it was inevitable that CD sales were going to be a thing of the past eventually. The best part about this is during the the Napster case Dave Grohl was on a talk show and called out Lars pretty hard for it.

    I hope Lars gets back to doing this, he's great at it. First off, he has the often much lacking skill of shutting the f*** up and letting the talent talk, or only quickly interrupting to pull more info out of em, and when he does stop and talk about his own stuff, it's 100% relevant to what the guest is discussing and interesting.

To be the drummer of the most influential and greatest metal band of all time and be respected by some of the best drummers in the industry such as joey jordinson Chris Adler mike portnoy and when he was alive the rev so overated or his doing what he has been doing since the black album just serving the song and honestly can you play if you don't doesn't make you a fuckin expert does it you dumbass
