Dave Grohl: confessions of a Foo Fighting man
/ gqrecommends - Развлечения
Dave is one the few rock musicians who aged really well. Dude seems to be getting hotter lol
It's like he's finally grown into his face or a grown into those teeth? Because he looked kind of goofy in his 20s but he does look very good now .
I Agree👍👍👍
100% 😍
It's right . . But sus
@@latsnojokelee6434 Thats exactly what I thought!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I could watch Dave Grohl interviews all day. He's such a down-to-earth guy.
IllPropaganda Like how you could watch ASHLEY ALL DAY?!! What's up Bro, haven't seen you in years. It's so weird seeing you here. I used to be one of those ashley losers (meplayvgalot or mastrsushi), but then again, I guess we all were....
same, that's what I'm doing now :D
Me too..
Sometimes I do! ♥️
yes except he likes a private plane
Dave's transformation from introverted in Nirvana to extroverted as front man of the Foos is incredible. And I mean in interviews. If you watch old Nirvana interviews he rarely speaks. Krist always lead the interviews.
I think he always had it in him. Sadly, tragedy can become a significant motivator in ones life. I hope it remains true in the wake of yet another tragic loss in his life. Dave's kind of a beacon of hope to me out of dark times.
One of the coolest guys in rock and roll today
He was quieter back then, but I wouldn't have called him shy back then either.
These guys are the only reliable weapon we have against 'Foo' in the known universe.
I haven't seen a Foo, so i trust they're good at their job
😂😂😂😂😂
They're the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best at fighting the foo
@@Darkblade0926 Keaton always said, “I don’t believe in God, but I’m afraid of him.” Well, I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is a foo.
They can’t be that good. I mean, there’s a ton of foos here in Los Angeles, where the Foo fighters are from.
“When’s the last time you got arrested”
Dave: Not that long ago, 2002.
That was 16 years ago. My entire existence ago. Dave, that was quite a while ago.
Aelena Gillies it’s all relative. I’m basically mid way between you and Dave (32) and 2002 was the first time I saw the foos. In a way it seems like a long time ago, a lot has happened in my life since then, but in another way it seems like no time at all. Life goes fast, enjoy it!
You know what i born in 2002
@@rpy6933 nobody cares.
Adrian D i do
It actually happened in 2000
I've been watching a bunch of Kurt Cobain interviews, and what strikes me about Dave is how warm, happy and personable he is. What a guy, what a musician!
Have watched many Dave interviews and this guy asked the most interesting questions that I have heard. It allowed us to get an insight into all things Dave.
Dave is just life. He’s so smooth and chill. What an honor it would be to meet him!
Isn’t Dave just the coolest dad you never had. Xx
No
Laughed way too hard at "Anna 1, Anna 2"
Given the times we are in, I find very honest of the interviewer to ask a question about Nirvana that actually allows Dave to demistify Nirvana's modern conception. It's been almost 25 years of questions that have only had the goal to feed the myth and make people believe that Nirvana was just about doing drugs and thinking about suicide. That's why everyone who's not into that sort of music remembers Nirvana as the band of the guy who shot himself, rather than remembering them for their music, their energy, their political ideas, their funny but interesting interviews...
12:58 that beat he did with his hands :0
Yea wtf was that, frickin sick
My guy played drums for years, it’s no surprise to me.
I love Dave Grohl so much it's not even funny.
me too
Kbear2097 I relate to this deeply
Dave is like the coolest guy ever
The pain is real, I know
Same here love this guy
Absolutely brilliant interview Dave Grohl what a man what a Legend.
Dave & Taylor’s excitement when Page & Jonesy came out & did 2 songs with the Foo’s was everything 🌟 (in ‘07)
Dave is amazing, i could hear him talking forever! Can't imagine the pain he's feeling now with the death of Taylor.
Dave should be in the thumbnail
Dave can watch Noel interviews all day, while I watch Dave interviews all day. Thanks GQ.
Dave is my Hero, he is so Kind and great,it's unreal.
Really cool interview. Way to go!
The thumbnail is the interviewer not dave. You guys should fix that.
I agree
I agree to
Cuz Dave looks like trash
Calvin Nelson they did lol
T Mac41603 they clearly changed it
what i wouldn’t give to be in this interviewers seat rn. just listening to dave grohl stories all day. it’s almost as good as listening to him sing lol
Dave seems like such a laid back-cool kinda guy!
That was very enjoyable!! Heaf done a great job.
Loved this!!
This made my morning. Long live Dave Grohl
"I don't spend a lot of money, although I do have a thing for private plans though..."
That L17 is looking sick; Dave what a legend! Good content guys keep it up.
I love watching Noel interviews too, so many good ones!
My job, could watch Dave Grohl interviews... 😂😂😂😍😍😍😍
good interviewer! and Dave is King
I once read that Kurt loved Paris, Texas, it was one of his favorite films
Probably Dave know this movie through Kurt
I love that Dave's hero is his Mother!
I totally agree with Dave about being able to watch Noel interviews all day long lol
Duzzy Clayton Gallagher
does anyone else think the interviewer is the doppelganger of jeremy jahns the movie reviewer from RUclips ?
Chum Perez yeah bro
i thought it was him on the thumbnail lol
Lol, his impression of george w bush 😂
This is so cool!
It's like watching a mate of yours having a chat. Would love to a have a natter with Lord Grohl
Michael Muir and my MS I would love to meet his wife and those sweet daughters of his. His Mom rocks!
I wish Virginia was part of my up bringing. What a mom! I’m sure that’s why David is one of the world’s best Daddy. I actually hope he has more kids.
Great interview GQ!!
Well-done!!!
Love his plug for his friends Jeans. ...haha
Those jeans are $200 a pop!!! They had better be the most comfortable jeans for that price!
What kind are they may I ask?
Fidelity
Simon Davis Thank you.
It's the jeans he named in the interview.
Daniel Peers they be so tight on him they don’t really look comfortable
I adore you D G. don't ever leave me
Give yourself some credit, Dave. You've never ordered drone strikes on anyone.
We Love You Dave 💜💜
At 3:58 best answer ever!! Love you Dave!!!
It should be a gif 😅
Ahh... Love Dave!!!
Dave Grohl, a drummer almost drowned surfing. Carl Wilson, a drummer, drowned while surfing. Drummers need to stay off boards in the water.
Dennis Wilson.
Seriously you should change this.
Rivers going surfing
Dennis Wilson wasn't surfing when he drowned
And maybe stay on pedal boards? Heheheheheheh.
Paris Texas sound tracks I agree . Jimmy Page I agree too :)
Interviewer sounds like the “Watch out world, I’m feeling a bit cheeky” meme and I can’t unhear it
dave grohl interviews are the best.
Nice interview... Perhaps you should have a pic of Dave in the thumbnail??
If I had a choice between George W Bush being president and partying with him, definitely partying with him.
Obviously!
I hear George is a great painter.
i’m glad he’s still alive 💝
Me too☺☺☺
I’m not.
@@bramblecino what why??
Nice guy Dave, “Somewhere in the middle.” Being modest.
Dave Grohl un capo donde se lo mire
We played for the president while honoring The Who.
Way to raise the bar for rock musicians Dave.
Dave is just the best guy 🤘👊
I had the same answer for the guitar solo question 😯
Hands down coolest dude on the planet
I also have a good one about drummers)- Who are drummers? They are the guys, that always hang out with musicians)
Might as well have had Dave just read the questions off of a teleprompter...the interviewer doesn't engage him at all. He responds with "cool" to all of his answers, and then proceeds down his list of questions like he's checking off a grocery list.
I think he did pretty well. Obviously just a bit nervous but he didn't strictly stick to just the written questions. I'd be nervous too no doubt!
I liked it that he let him talk at leisure!
The interviewer was good.
Agreed. Dave was the one in control in this. He might have well have said "Next" when he was done with his answer. There was no expansion on any of the answers aside from a small obvious comment with a chuckle, and then "...cool..." with an awkward pause, followed by "...ummm..." followed by a search down his list for the next question. It was awful :)
What do you call a drummer that broke up with his girlfriend? HOMELESS.
Foo fighters are brilliant Dave’s drums to grunge rock
One of my favorite movies and soundtrack , Paris-Texas!
FIDELITY JEANS people!! ...haha always looking after his mates!!
Hes so cool man. Straight up role model. Great Man.
The best !
When he said “I can think of two ppl rn” the female was definitely Courtney Love
Nah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BFF’s
Donny and Melania, if I know Dave.
For Sure!!!!!
@@heatherobrien3592 💯
My fav solo is Neil young Cinnamon girl, so simple.
Best interviewer of Nirvana was Kris Novoselic change my mind
Love rock and Grohl
I decided this person was highly intelligent about 1.5 minutes into.
Interesting decision to make the doof asking questions the thumbnail instead of Grohl.
04:50 best jeans commercial ever.
Cool he mention Santa Cruz
Anyone know what band/song he's talking about? Has it come out yet?
Most of the questions were so boring and dumb. But Dave makes everything funny and interesting.
If Nirvana had gotten these questions, Kurt would’ve just gotten exasperated and Krist would’ve answered them all very flippantly. It would’ve been funny, though. But too bad for the interviewer.
Ironic that Dave's first show with Nirvana was at the North Shore Surf Club. Glad he survived.
LOVE that Dave is wearing a Canadian Tuxedo! CANADA LOVES YOU FOOS!
To hear Dave say Nirvana was not a bummer cheers me up
Man these questions
Favorite guitarist ? Dimebag Darrell…but for intricate/classical Paul Gilbert
Bop Till you Drop also awesome by Ry ...
I believe all of my dropped guitar picks now reside and Dave Grohl’s hair
I thought Dave was getting ready to Rick roll us
Gonna get me some fidelity Jeans.dave grohl approved.
small suggestion... put the subject/person in the thumbnail!
What was the song he "gave away"?
There are very few people who can sound humble and say "I do have a thing for private planes though!"
Liam did lose it but he's back
That jacket is like the red cowboy boot in HIMYM.
You didnt.
Pulling. It. Off. 😆
These questions are just, like, FAQs from Reddit AMAs. I'm waiting for him to ask Dave if he'd rather fight 1 horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses...
i LOVE PARIS TEXAS I LOVE THE SOUNDTRACK I heard the sound at the start and was like Paris, Texas! eeeeeh
Beyoncé and Danny McBride! That’s the best answer to that question ever.
Now that it’s been a few years does anyone know what that song is that he sold to another band?
The intro made me deaf, thanks alot.
"Is it ever OK to wear leather trousers?" Uh....you'd best ask Mr. Jerry Cantrell about that. Or maybe my British former boss, who squeaked down the hall once on casual Friday to a round of faces doing this: 😱
Cool dude.
I’m thinking the band he gave the song too Ghost
