@@barrynobles95 upgrade to aluminum version 🤔 isn't chromoly a better material than them all??? What's your thoughts because i worry if it ain't chromoly it can brake easily.
I have the regular fork, but I don’t dirt jump. I’m more of a casual urban rider, my body is to beat up to get to crazy like I used to with free ride man biking
Like the safe setup you have. See the mattresses but what kind of top covering do you have? Want to up my game but have a little age on me and love your setup. Think I would feel a lot better doing new tricks with your setup.
Okay so I have a 2014 Steel Reserve 1.2 and the fork absolutely sucks but it was stuck when I bought it bc the original owner knew nothing about it and Never rode the bike,I bought it,unfroze the fork and it’s a spring fork not an air fork and I ride all the time everywhere and that fork all the way preload up the fork barely moves and it’s basically rigid,my buddy with the manitou fork has never serviced it in 5 years except for some air and it’s still going strong, although I prefer my HARO to his Norco One25
And I ride in North Alabama and I only say that bc Barry lives somewhere here in Alabama, but yeah, forks don’t need upgrading necessarily,I have a mechanical disk and they’re great, keep the cranks greased, and the fork oiled and you’ll never have an issue outside of maybe a flat tire or maybe that’s just my bad luck😂all I ever did was buy wider bars bc preference and I bought Maxxis Holy Rollers and ODI soft compound longneck flangeless and that’s it,I’m not new but it was cheap and I’ve always been a DJ,upgrades aren’t exactly necessary for these HARO bikes
Oh and I failed to mention the Fork in question for my Steel Reserve bc it’s 6 years old is an RST Dirt fork and yeah...big time sucks, the manitou forks are great especially for the cost
I run a older Jamis Kromo 4130 w/ a 831 Fox 32... there are so many nice alu bikes - la bomba, transition pbj, norco rampage, commencal absolut... however every time the kids ask me to try mine, they always say... its so smooth. its 'heavy' for sure... I definately prefer the BMX parts as its cheaper and maybe stronger, though heavier. Mine is mostly loaded with aliennation parts and basic 3 piece bmx crankset. I still think Steel still has its place, esp for DJ-ing and it seems like the most favored bike, if people would pony up, is picking up the Chromag monk. That said, if your goal is to race pumptrack or 4x... go alu
Debating between the Thread 2 and the slope. If i was doing majority dirt jumping but also some trail riding (nothing too gnarly, no big rocks or stumps) which would you suggest being that you have both bikes?
I am getting the 2021 Thread 2 in a week or two! I can't wait! This review helped. I'm in the mid TN area so you might see me at Oak Mountain sometime. Also you should come and check out the new pump track and jump lines at Chickisaw Trace Park in Columbia TN. They are the best in the area.

Looks exactly like the Deity Highside 760 bars I put on my Haibike Xduro Nduro. I am 6'2" and started with their 50mm rise version, but it was just a little too low so I put those on an older bike I have and I changed to the 80mm version. It's an AWESOME handlebar! Super strong and they look nice. Jenson USA had them in stock.
Just picked up a used steel reserve 1.2 last week. It's my first DJ but I'm 6'2" and it feels tiny. Do I just need to get used to it? Or would taller handle bars help? Or do I just need a bigger bike?
The one siced DJs are just too small for peple over 6'0 (i'm 6'1) luckily there are some brands with more sizes, the best one you can find i think is the Transition PBJ, comes in S/L/XL sizes, and the frame is 450€ on my closest dealer, sadly out of stock
I’m 6ft and have run a 21” bmx frame my whole life. My P-Series is a one size fits all at 22.5” and it’s definitely roomy. I could see riser bars and a slightly longer stem accommodating someone up to 6’2” no issues.
Some manufacturers produced different sizes of Dirtjumpers and one of them are Commencal they have bigger sizes and smaller sizes now also I think propain have 2 sizes since some of pro riders are like over 6ft tall they produced bigger frames to bring more people in sport
I'm 6ft 3 what frame do you recommend? Someone told me the Haro Steel Reserve long but you know without test riding them it's difficult to tell and most bike shops don't have them in stock

My brother is selling me a supercross propel, it's more setup for slopestyle but I will change it up a bit for dirtjumping, like getting rid of the 10 speed rear for a little while to see how it feels. It can be nice having gears though haha. I was going to get the Vere Radix Dlx but for $250 more than my brother said he'd sell me his bike for and it's got manitou circus experts, carbon fiber cranks, oval sprocket, hydraulic disc brakes, and other better stuff I pick the supercross. Even on pinkbike everyone wants original retail for their beat up used bike hahaha.
As in Mtb trails for long distance? Completely different machines. This bike is designed purely around dirt jumping and Pumptrack riding. Just a fun playful bike ya know?
