Up high, my friend🙌 !!! Great reaction ... won't tell you how to pronounce HER name (band's named after her), because everyone else has already 😁, but it was funny to hear you say it that way. I'd never thought to do that, probably because I heard her name before seeing it. This and Sweetest Taboo are my two (2) favorites. I think you might even like that one better ... I do. If you get the chance, check out the music video again, like you did here.
Great as American music can be, you must forgive them for their execrable education. Any word which is not pronounced exactly how it looks is beyond even the otherwise most intelligent American. God knows how they cope with Albuquerque. 😅
Sade is a Nigerian-born British singer, songwriter & actress. She is such an elegant lady with a very unique smoky voice. She had quite a few hits in the 80's such as "Your Love Is King", "The Sweetest Taboo", "Paradise", "No Ordinary Love", "Is It A Crime?" etc.
Silky! Sade is the queen!👑 Deep rabbit hole and very rich material! "No Ordinary Love" "The Sweetest Taboo" "Hang On To Your Love" ..........so many! Thanks for diving into Sade! Such beautiful easy listening 😊❤
" Your Love Is King " is my hubby's song for me which is fantastic. " No Ordinary Love " my favorite " Sweetest Taboo " " Nothing Can Come Between Us" So many more. Sade " Sha Day " is so talented and still amazingly beautiful to this day ❤
I adore Sade, she is just incredible. Also, she is the main songwriter, and also producer of her music. I think her talent gets overlooked because she is so stunningly gorgeous - but I think she's kind of a genius. Also, the musicianship of her band is insane. Thanks for this!
Sade has Sooo many great songs that were Hits.. This song was, I believe, her first hit in the early 80s.. Her career spanned into the late 200O when I believe she retired.
Sade regularly claimed that her musical inspiration was first ignited when she heard the unique talent of St Kitts-British singer/songwriter Joan Armatrading. Listen to Joan's Love & Affection, and you'll hear why.
I saw Sade live in the mid 80s when I was about 18 in Ronnie Scotts in London. I was working across the road from the club. She was (and still is) absolutely stunning. Her singing voice and her speaking voice have that same tone.
She has always surrounded herself with the most creative, top-tier musicians. Jazz, pop, and soul. Fantastic, she almost created her own musical genre.
She is Sade Adu pronounced Shah Day. Nigerian-born British singer. Check out the official video of Sweetest Taboo....... my favorite. I'd classify her music as smooth jazz. Love her music.
Sha-day. The lead singer's first name is Helen Fula Sade Adu. She was born in Nigeria and moved to London to be a model. She met the band in college and they became well known. They have a lot of albums: Diamond Life, Promise, Stronger than Pride, Love Deluxe, Lovers Rock, Lovers Live, and Soilder of Love. Their biggest hits-besides Smooth Operator- are: Sweetest Taboo, Is it a Crime, Nothing Can come between us, No Ordinary Love, Kiss of Life, Paradise, By Your Side, and King of Sorrows. Check them out.
The spoken intro not included in the video is; “Spoken Intro] He's laughing with another girl And playing with another heart Placing high stakes, making hearts ache He’s loved in seven languages Jewel box life, diamond nights and ruby lights High in the sky Heaven help him when he falls” The video starts with the first verse; [Verse 1] “Diamond life lover boy He moves in space with minimum waste and maximum joy City lights and business nights When you require streetcar desire for higher heights”
Sade is a vibe!! So exotic and calming. FYI.....next time you react to this beauty, always watch her LIVE. Here's some of her best * Nothing Can Come Between Us * Love Is Stronger Than Pride * No Ordinary Love * The Sweetest Taboo * Kiss Of Life
It’s been jokingly said that more children have been conceived to Sade’s music than any other artist. I believe it’s true. Fun fact….they took an almost 10 year hiatus and came back with the album ‘Lover’s Rock’ which went straight to #1 on Billboard based on artist reputation elone, not radio play.
I’ve seen people correct the pronunciation so I won’t do that. Sade is a killer band. Everything they’ve ever done was amazing. Every album. Sade Adu’s vocal style is super unique. The band is tight and they’re just excellent musicians. Seriously, check their stuff out man. If you like this you will not be disappointed. Great stuff! My only regret is never getting to see them live.
Great reaction. Sade is one of those bands that are never mistaken for some other band, or vice versa, for all the reasons you just heard. If you want more sax, then, you may want to check out Couldn't Get It Right by the Climax Blues Band.
To figure out everything in this video you need to watch the long version of the video. It goes through the whole story. It's called the 12" version it's a little over 8 mins long if you want to look it up.
You need to check out her live show videos Sweetest Taboo or Is It a Crime at Live Aid. Also No Ordinary Love. She is stunning and aged like fine wine. One of a kind voice.
i started seeing a hottie in the late 80's and had 4 or 5 sade cd's so when we would get "tangled up " i would pop in sade, which she had never heard before me, and she loved it.
Sade is the name of the singer (pronounced shah-day) but they are actually a band. They chose to use her name as the band name because it was unique and different and had a cool sound to it. They have a lot of great songs.
I'm a long time Sade fan here (pronounced 'sha-day')! Her songs are all in my 'sultry' play list 😉. Further suggestions by her: The Sweetest Taboo, You Love is King, Paradise, Kiss of Life, No Ordinary Love, Cherish the Day, Nothing Can Come Between Us, Never as Good as the First Time... Thanks for this one today!
Sade is the name of the lead singer but also the band name as well. I cannot say enough good things about this band!!! Please please do more!!! Sweetest Taboo and No Ordinary Love are great. Would suggest listening to the originals for those. But they are also fantastic live. Especially the live videos from San Diego concert, and in particular “Cherish the Day” from San Diego!! Blow your mind good!!!
its just her Shar day that's her name at the beginning I thought it was SAD with an e. Go watch Cherish The Day done in 1993 where shes singing and playing the guitar on top of one of NYs buildings its filmed in black and white. Shes not only an amazing artist singer but shes one of thee most beautiful women of all time too. Is It A Crime is another fantastic one but then all of her songs are like that there all fantastic. Peace.
No voice like hers. She seems to hit all the minor notes in a major key. I didn't listen much to her as a kid because of stereotypes, but like others here say, I grew up and fell in love with her. Check out Cherish the Day.
Lots of similar comments about her name - I'm British and many of us put a hint of an 'r' in it, almost like Shar-day, but a very brief hint of the R not long drawn out as in some regional UK accents. Rob Squad had big fun with the name (It's worth a quick look at their intro to see what Amber said), and it puzzles the younger reactors who weren't around when the name Sade was coming out of our radios a million times a day as DJ's played the group's material heavily.
RONNIE LAWS - "" Night Breeze (1976) "" AUDIO // SMOOTH JAZZ w/ Groovy Saxophone/Guitars/Funky Awesome Bass and Drums , Must hear. Also Recommend the cover version of this song w/ Groovy Fender Rhodes Piano / Horns / Guitars / Bass & Drums Much More Sounds and Grooves were added to this one while paying homage to the original 1976 classic. The Artist name is BOBBY LYLE - "" Night Breeze "" 1977 Cover Masterpiece, both Versions are Super Creative and Sonic Sounding Hypnotic Soulful and Funktastic !!! 🎷 🎹 🎶

Lmao ... never heard this song they use it in Razor commercials... pronounced Sha Day.
@@gerardcote8391 I haven’t heard it! I ain’t watching no razor commercials! 🤣🤷🏻♂️
Dp Sweetest Taboo....
You'll going to enjoy this....
Best of Yacht Rock.

One of the smoothest, sexiest and most beautiful songs ever sung !
Her name is pronounced shah-day. She was one of my wife's favorite singers back in the day. One of our favorite songs was No Ordinary Love.
The video for that one is so good too...mermaid Sade. ❤
Great as American music can be, you must forgive them for their execrable education. Any word which is not pronounced exactly how it looks is beyond even the otherwise most intelligent American. God knows how they cope with Albuquerque. 😅
@t.a.k.palfrey3882 I don't know, but that's a great song from Weird Al!
I just came on to say that.
Sade was an artist I didn’t appreciate as a teenager, I thought she was boring. As an adult I can appreciate her beautiful voice and songs.
You should hear 'Everything Counts', 'Never let me down again', Stripped', 'Strangelove' or 'Personal Jesus'. Real cool Sounds!
She is a solo artist. Her name is pronounced Sha-day. She's One of the best from the 80's.
Sade is the name of her band, her name is Sade Adu. Has a Nigerian father and English mother.
She wasn't solo. The band was named after her. She and her bandmates were very tight.
She isn't a solo artist.
As many have noted, Sade was the name of the band - taken from her name, Helen Folasade Adu.
She had her own obvious style.
Yes it's a bass solo.👍
Smooth elegance.
Smooth adult jazz. Always a grate mode setter.
Sorry Great mood setter.
Sade is both the name of the band and the lead singer. Check out "The Sweetest Taboo" next - for me, it's the quintessential Sade tune.
" No Ordinary Love " my favorite
" Sweetest Taboo "
" Nothing Can Come Between Us"
So many more. Sade " Sha Day " is so talented and still amazingly beautiful to this day ❤

Listening to Sade instantly makes you more sophisticated. The effects have been known to last for several days!
Sweetest Taboo is even better!!!
That song was the reason I bought the album.
I love songs with the sax in it. ❤
💯

She is my favourite female soul singer.
I’ve seen Sade 6 times in concert. What you’re hearing is awesome, but she and her band are amazing live
I saw Sade live in the mid 80s when I was about 18 in Ronnie Scotts in London. I was working across the road from the club. She was (and still is) absolutely stunning. Her singing voice and her speaking voice have that same tone.
“The Sweetest Taboo” has to be next, it has the same flavour as this one with another good video.

Beautiful voice and a beautiful woman!!!
The band is Sade, named after the singer,She and they are superstars, with a massive following around the world.
The spoken intro not included in the video is; “Spoken Intro]

Placing high stakes, making hearts ache
He’s loved in seven languages
Jewel box life, diamond nights and ruby lights

The video starts with the first verse;
[Verse 1]
“Diamond life lover boy
He moves in space with minimum waste and maximum joy
City lights and business nights
When you require streetcar desire for higher heights”
I will alway love her
I had a CD alarm clock and used to wake up to her Lover's Rock album
Sade's "Cherish the Day" is heaven.
Sade has a stunning voice and She is just pure elegance which is sadly lacking in most of todays female singers
Slade has always been a great band .
Still going strong. Still beautiful. Check out Soldier of Love (2010).
No ordinary love Your Love is King
Her voice is so unique. My favorite song she does is By Your Side.
The next video to watch is “Sweetest Taboo” and then “Is It A Crime.” Same guy in all 3 videos and their love story plays out over the 3 videos.
GREAT REACTION LOVE THIS SONG COOL 😎 80s CLASSIC
This song was played non stop in the 80's
Her name is pronounced Shar-DAY, and yes, the bass solo was indeed played on a bass.... ; )
Let's Go!
Cheers!
Sade is pure seduction. Her video for No Ordinary Love is stunning. Being from 1992, it's production was ahead of its time.
Sade is a vibe!! So exotic and calming. FYI.....next time you react to this beauty, always watch her LIVE. Here's some of her best
* Nothing Can Come Between Us
* Love Is Stronger Than Pride
* No Ordinary Love
* The Sweetest Taboo
* Kiss Of Life
Está cancion como Personal Jesus y su álbum asociado "Violator", rompió con los 80 e inicio la década de los 90
the singer with the beautiful voice! 💋
Chill...."minimum waste and maximum joy"
I was an 80s metalhead but I always loved Sade. It's just good music.
All her songs are vibes
And if you hear this on vinyl . . . the richesse! Like dancing in heaven.
SADE was What You Put on Stereo when You Turned Down The Lights with THAT Girl !
Sade was a refreshing singer from the 1980’s over the top music scene with her smooth, sultry and elegant style and voice.
Sade has been my favourite female artist since I was a teenager, I'm now 55 and still my favourite.
I remember when this song was released. Such a lovely voice.
her "spoken intro" was deleted !! .... you have to get the EXTENDED version to hear the real song
Sade Abdu (shar day). Paul Denman on Bass guitar, is one of four primary band members that make up what we know as Sade.
Is it a crime is phenomenal. Some of her best vocals. Sade is the name of the singer.
My favorite!
I don't remember seeing this video, but back in the day this song was played many times per day on many types of radio stations.
Sade - Is It A Crime (Live Aid 1985)
It's a bass with chorus effect, great band, great musicians always with Sade
such a unique band, love Sade. they have a fair few absolutely brilliant tracks.
Hi, this is P not G; we saw her live in concert, they /she sound just as tight live as on the album. ..Lets go! lol Big smiles love your show.
Great reaction. Sade is one of those bands that are never mistaken for some other band, or vice versa, for all the reasons you just heard. If you want more sax, then, you may want to check out Couldn't Get It Right by the Climax Blues Band.

The Seton Hill College of Musical Knowledge brings the smooth groove - 'Let's Go! Thanks for all the hard work.
Thanks for hanging out! 😁
That exquisite womans name is pronounced Shah-Day. If you dig this the rest of her catalog is excellent as well.
I love Sade and her song Nothing Can Come Between Us is my fave.

For the record, Steven, her name is pronounced "Shah-day".
As good as this song is, her song/video "The Sweetest Taboo" is my favorite of hers.

😂😂😂😂Your at it again. SHAR-DAY (pronunciation). Tbh, we didn't know how to pronounce it back in the day, until she was on "Top Of The Pops" 😊
Haha 😂
Love your reactions! 😍
Really appreciate it! 😁

I see what you did there...nice
I appreciate you "digging into it" because even though I lived it, I didn't always "get it"!
New subscriber 😂Sade is awesomeness 🫶🎶🎶
Thanks for the sub and appreciate you hanging out! 😁
Diary, you can react to Bread for a month. One of my favorite groups ever.
I covered a couple Bread songs here on the channel! 😁
Shah-day is how her name is pronounced
It about time for some Golden Country. "REO Speedwagon"- live from You get what you play for
I think this is more of a Bosin ova. I'm no expert on them but I think it's what it is.
Thanks!
Thanks so much for your generosity! You’re awesome! ❤️
Whohoo...peace...MHK
I really love your channel. I’m happy I subscribed
