@@chazfu Confused, but 80's weren't underrated. The 80's music and fashion are very much alive and appreciated. 70's music were appreciated as well, but 80's?
I agree and in my experience most people listened to all of it. A big group of friends would hit up concerts in Nashville, seeing Judas Priest one week, Jimmy Buffet another, Kool & the Gang, Run DMC, Def Leppard, if they were coming to town we were going to see them. Not to mention the local music scene in Nashville during the 80's was rockin'.
I grew up in the 70's and 80's in Chicago, and whenever I hear any of those songs and feel nostalgic, my heart aches for the younger generation. All I can say is y'all missed it 😢. We had the time of our lives, and I'm sorry y'all couldn't be there. What a wonderful world it was back then, and what a time to be alive.
And Lewis realizes his first sampling of an 80s song with Steve Miller Band's Abracadabra, LOL! There are a few I've never heard of which means they didn't get played in the US. This was the MTV decade so if it wasn't on the radio, it was on MTV and it was a daily watch.
Yes the music videos were sometimes like movie or a show for that song and even to this day when I hear the song comes on the radio I can picture the video as well.
Yeah there were 4 or 5 that I'd never heard before. Had they been on the radio in America, I'd have definitely heard them over the course of the many, many hours that I sat by the radio making mixtapes. 😂
I was actually surprised by how many I didn't recognize (just because I expected to know them all). He didn't specify, but I figured this was a US based list since some of the songs I didn't recognize/remember were still recognizable bands.
The 80s music had fewer love/heartbreak laments than other eras, and more party/dance celebrations. That's why I like 80s music best. I really enjoyed this production.
Oh my friend, you have an old soul. It was a joy watching you react to these songs , it brought back so many memories of my younger days. God bless you young man you are a joy to watch ! sending ❤ from the USA
80s we’re good but 70s were the best. Born in 63, grew up hearing the best. Sad that no one plays real instruments anymore and we can’t appreciate the virtuosity which hours of dedicated practice and love of music produced. This is music you could love and listen to without needing pictures.
I’ll side with the 80s, although I love the 70s as well. For most it comes down to when their high school years were. Mine were in the 80s, so that’s my preference.
Steve Miller Band: Fly Like an Eagle, Take the Money and Run, The Joker, Jet Airliner, Rock'n Me... tons of hits. Worth a listen if you're up for a walk back into the 70's and 80's.
I graduated high school in 1980. I remember seeing each one of these videos constantly on MTV back when it played music! Thank you for showing all these memories!
"We Didn't Start The Fire" by Billy Joel was actually a challenge by a kid to Joel. The kid said "nothing happened in your time", and created that song.
And a lot of history teachers have memorizing and singing it as an alternative to final exams, since every event mentioned is arranged in chronological order, unlike the Fall Out Boy remake.
The song Physical was song by Olivia Newton John who I believe was originally from Australia. She was the star of Grease along with John Travolta. She had many hits. She looks nothing like Ellen Degeneres.

Musically, I’m hooked on the 1930s-50s, but the 80s are a close second. Ok, the early/mid 90s, too, because I love me some old school hip hop… 😂
80's (and 70's) music was the absolute best. I skipped school one Friday in 1981 and drove with some friends a couple hours south to Hollywood Florida to see a Police concert. (Sting) We slept on the beach because we were only 17. It was the best weekend of my life. My mom knew, but my dad said I couldnt go. So I pretended i spent the weekend with my good friend at the time. I think he knew though, when he found seashells I had collected in the trunk of my car. "Interesting shells...we don't see anything like this here on the beaches in our area". 🤔🤨Ummm...gotta go Dad...Im late for school! 🤥😆😂

Yes these songs ARE so good. These songs are my childhood and I grew up with these songs. Such a great decade the 80's. The music, the hairstyles, the fashion...I miss it soooo much.
I was giggling and squealing throughout the video. Ssssooooo many memories came rushing. Great time 🎉 at the parties with so many hits playing in the background. Always dancing til the sun came up!😂
I was a child of the 50's(late), 60's and 70's and love the music from those times. I never considered myself a fan of 80's music. HOWEVER, listening to some of these, I realize there were more 80's songs that I like than I realized. Thanks for the reaction!!
Boomer here. I haven't thought about most of these songs in decades but in my time we listened to the radio often so as these played it took me back to when they came out because they played them often. I flashed back to where I was, who I knew and where I was in life with each song. I remembered old jobs, friends and dreams I forgot about.
The 80's were the best and that's when we had a gazillion night clubs to dance in!!! I think you would recognize more songs if you heard more of the song..my favorite year is the 80's LOL Liked them all!!
Those were GREAT Years to grow up in. We had clubs for kids that opened on friday evening through the weekend where all of the teens would go to dance and party together. So many memories of jammin and dancing the weekends away in teen clubs.
Yes, we had a teenage disco called the Red Caboose. Slowly, the disco sound faded, but we were still dancing and hanging out every Friday and Saturday nights.
Great collection of hits from the greatest decade of music! (You should have been there!) MTV actually played these music videos 24/7 and was pivotal to the success of a song.
The 80s rocked! Best music ever! I'm a DJ for an 80s music show, and I keep this awesome music alive! I was in high school in 1983 and graduated in 1984, and yes, those years ruled the radio!
Been watching your channel for a while and loved this topic! All the songs are uplifting and put you in a good mood. Fun fact... The song by The Police was actually written to convey a stalker but most Americans view it as a love song and play it at weddings 😁
The 80’s were the best times. I listened to America’s Top 40 Countdown every Sunday the only times I missed it was when I was grounded from everything but school, meals, showers, church and chores.
I love your reactions to all these songs. This is my jam! I grew up in the 80s and still listen to all this stuff now! I'm feeling like you and didn't want the songs to stop! 80s had the best music hands down.
1983 I was 12/13. Just the whole decade is a soundtrack because we had nothing but radio everywhere! A lil MTV but radio in the car, your room and every public arcade etc... everywhere
I graduated high school in 83, so all of these songs are popular when I was really listening to music. What makes 80s music great? Pop music marketing melded with the ultra-talented artists from R&B, especially in the early 80s. Look at how many legendary R&B talents crossed over into mainstream pop.
I was in my 20's in the 80's. So I love almost all of them. "Girl's Just Want to Have Fun" is my phone ringtone. Many songs have been redone over and over by various artist throughout the years.
Growing up as GenX was incredible! Freedom, creativity, exploration, invention, and embracing dreams. The FAFO kids had the best music and movies. What a time to be young and ALIVE.
I'm impressed you knew so many of these. A lot of times in your videos you dont seem to know a lot of pop culture names prior to 2000s. Even if u may not recognize artists names you definitely know their songs. Super fun reaction video 😊😊😊
I’m so glad I was alive for all of this! Born in 72 and lived through the greats. Although the 60s were insane as well! wtf are we doing with music today? 😮
You gotta watch the "Take On Me" video by A-Ha because it was state of the art, at the time, and made it a 80s favorite. There were so many great songs that weren't even on this list. Check out more music from the 80s. My son loves them because he says it's real music with real voices and real instruments.
7:06 "How many good songs came from the 80's" Answer, all of them. the 80's lais the foundations. I was born in 1973, so I was 6 when the first songs came out on this list. I remember them all well, and just hearing a part of some of them trigger memories long forgotten. Hearing We Are the World reminded me of when my sister my grandma and I stood along a highway in northwestern Pennsylvania holding hands with total strangers in Hands Across America. It's a sad thing to think that anymore, the only thing that brings Americans together is hate of other Americans. Not what I served for.
90% of these songs kill it. This was the best time for music…when MTV started in 1981. It was truly about music and being a kid watching music videos with your friends. Great decade for music for sure.
80's music is timeless. There will never be another generation like it. Keep in mind, this is just pop hits. My spotify has like 600 songs on it from the 80's.
Born in 76' so all this brought back great memories. Thanks I stumbled upon your posts & have been really enjoying your reactions to USA craziness. Good stuff keep going.
I grew in the 70’s and 80’s. Gen X 🤘🏻We had great music, I was a punk rock kid, but I still remember all of these 😘. In 70’s punk rock was born. Such good times, it’s so bittersweet 😎
I started high school in '82 (14 years old) and I think that year and '83 had some of the best music. Someone else commented that their heart aches when they hear this music... I feel the same way. We didn't know just how good we had it. Love 80s music so much!
Surprising someone with the song "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley is called being Rick Rolled. It is a bait and switch game that has been going on for almost 20 years here in the US.
83 was the year! I was in the service being shifted here to there, everywhere. Everywhere I heard the sound of home. Many didn't know the words but they truly were happy to hear and dance to it! 33 countries and decades later I still remember those faces! Some of those faces disappeared. Tanx my man...i always watch yer posts 1st cuz you got wannabes following YOU now...Rock on Brit!
If you haven’t listen to Steve Miller you need to. That music always brought me joy. It definitely makes you want to sit outside in a summer day and enjoy a fine cocktail.
Yes, I totally agree! Steve Miller has an incredible catalog! Most of his hits came from 1973 to 1978, but he has some very cool music before and after that period. 1982 was his last big hit on the pop chart, but even after that, he had a few more. In 1986, he had a song that was massive at AOR (Album-Oriented Rock) radio (which gages airplay at U.S. radio stations that focus exclusively on rock radio, the precursor to "Classic Rock"). "I Want to Make the World Turn Around", spent 6 weeks on top of the Rock Tracks chart, but barely scraped the bottom of the Hot 100 (#97). His last chart entry was the title song from 1993's "Wide River" (#7, AOR & #64, Pop).
Yeah you missed a lot the eighties were awesome what a time it was to be alive, back when Mtv actually played music videos all day and all night, I went to dozens of concerts especially metal and glam metal bands concerts cost less then $15 the seventies were amazing as well. Peace from Central Texas.
You can tell how old someone in the comments is by how convinced they are that every other decade of music sucks. There's good stuff in every decade you just are partial to the music you grew up with because it brings back memories.
I turned 30 in 1984. The 80s is my favorite decade before I settled down and had two children and life got more serious. We partied a lot in the 80s. We were at a disco or a club or a bar every weekend and once or twice a week for happy hour somewhere. I was running around with a group of friends who liked to go to NASCAR races, SEC football & Basketball games, We had Vanderbilt, U of Tennessee, U of Florida & U of Georgia fans in the group. And living in Nashville, Tennessee, we had a lot of live music to catch, Billy Joel, Elton aJohn, Charlie Daniels, Garth Brooks, Hall & Oats, Disco & Country Line Dancing at the Honkey Tonks.... FUN Don't get me wrong, I don't regret having children and settling down. I just had to move the dance parties to the living room with the kids. There's no way I could pick just one. There have been about three groups on there that I never heard of before. Everyone else are grammy-winning, top of the charts artists! This music was meant to dance to and we did our best just stay on the dance floor. Boy was I skinny back then LOL. I could drink as much beer or wine as I wanted to when we were out partying and never gained weight. I know there's some good music today but I just can't find anything that I want to listen to as much as I do just going back and listening to this music, the 70s 80s and 90s will always be my favorites.

MTV actually played these music videos 24/7 and was pivotal to the success of a song.
Fun fact... The song by The Police was actually written to convey a stalker but most Americans view it as a love song and play it at weddings 😁
haha, yep, I actually bought the single to give to a girl I liked in high school, jeez! lol

The 80s is the BEST decade for music! Great time to grow up
The 80’s were the best times.
Too many to pick just one favorite! You brought back some wonderful memories. Cheers, mate!
This is the soundtrack of my teen years. Every one brought back memories. Saw Madonna in concert in Atlanta in 84. What a night
1983 I was 12/13. Just the whole decade is a soundtrack because we had nothing but radio everywhere! A lil MTV but radio in the car, your room and every public arcade etc... everywhere
Same
The 80s was the best . . . LOVE 80s music . . . These are just the number one songs for each month . . . so many more great songs . . .
This would have been a good one to do with your mom.Dang that comparison to looking like Elen hurt.
i died inside with that comment
omg my mom would love this! & haha im sorry!!!
The 70's,80's and 90's best time and for music, my children and grandchildren know all these songs because that's all I play since they were born.
I graduated high school in 83, so all of these songs are popular when I was really listening to music. What makes 80s music great? Pop music marketing melded with the ultra-talented artists from R&B, especially in the early 80s. Look at how many legendary R&B talents crossed over into mainstream pop.
I did, too. I recognized all those songs 🎵
Yup. '83. Gravitated to punk and post punk mostly, but every genre was great, didn't matter.
I was a teenager in the 1980s. This brings back memories for me!
I was a teenager in the 80s. It was epic!
The 80’s had some of the absolutely BEST music ever! I graduated High School in 1980. Our music was EPIC.
I grew up in the 80's. This video brought back so many memories.....and I am now feeling inspired to make an 80's playlist 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻
It’s wild how many of these are still played on the radio. Great decade for music.
I'm impressed you knew so many of these. A lot of times in your videos you dont seem to know a lot of pop culture names prior to 2000s. Even if u may not recognize artists names you definitely know their songs. Super fun reaction video 😊😊😊
I graduated in 1986 and I don't think I have ever enjoyed music like the songs we had in high school. The 70's and 80's were the absolutely best!
I’m so glad I was alive for all of this! Born in 72 and lived through the greats. Although the 60s were insane as well! wtf are we doing with music today? 😮
Excellent question!
You gotta watch the "Take On Me" video by A-Ha because it was state of the art, at the time, and made it a 80s favorite.
There were so many great songs that weren't even on this list. Check out more music from the 80s. My son loves them because he says it's real music with real voices and real instruments.
You asked how many great songs were from the 80s...I say all of them. It was the best decade of music. 😊
I was going to say the exact same thing! Music from the 80's was the best. Especially the first half of the decade.
The 80's were uplifting and fun! Everyone danced A LOT! 😅❤
Been There .. Done That ....80s AWSOME!
80s music is the best music ever
90% of these songs kill it. This was the best time for music…when MTV started in 1981. It was truly about music and being a kid watching music videos with your friends. Great decade for music for sure.
80's music is timeless. There will never be another generation like it. Keep in mind, this is just pop hits. My spotify has like 600 songs on it from the 80's.
Born in 76' so all this brought back great memories. Thanks I stumbled upon your posts & have been really enjoying your reactions to USA craziness. Good stuff keep going.
Because the 80s was the generation of Rock. I'm truly blessed that those were my party years.😁
The concerts…
I grew in the 70’s and 80’s. Gen X 🤘🏻We had great music, I was a punk rock kid, but I still remember all of these 😘. In 70’s punk rock was born. Such good times, it’s so bittersweet 😎
Thank your GenX mom for giving you good taste in music 🎶
Listen, your face during abracadabra was hilarious but let me tell you that was a very, very popular song in America!
In March of 1988, the world got Rick Rolled...
The 80s were IT!!!!!
1983 was the farewell year for Classic Rock. End of an era.
These are GREAT, I lived through this, Graduated high school in 1986. Glad you liked it
Yeah you missed a lot the eighties were awesome what a time it was to be alive, back when Mtv actually played music videos all day and all night, I went to dozens of concerts especially metal and glam metal bands concerts cost less then $15 the seventies were amazing as well. Peace from Central Texas.
ill have to do another one on these on the 70s!
@@L3WGReactsBring your mum in for the 70's. There are a lot of bangers on that decade too!
You can tell how old someone in the comments is by how convinced they are that every other decade of music sucks. There's good stuff in every decade you just are partial to the music you grew up with because it brings back memories.
The 1980's RULES in everything!
Yes! Yes! And Yes! I agree!
Well the hair was pretty bad. 😂 I made the CEO of aqua net a billionaire single-handedly!😂😂😂😂
I was born in May of 83 and I have to agree 83 was a blessed year
I turned 30 in 1984.
FUN
Don't get me wrong, I don't regret having children and settling down.
I love 80’s music!
"How many bangers are from the 80's?" All of them.
