Was lucky enough to live through this era as a teenager. Remember seeing this video late one night on MTV2, blown away. Saw them live when the first album came out, incredible!
This video and sound perfectly represented what The music were at that point , raw, underground, youthful , raw confidence, the next big thing and so much more, the other version also represented what they later became , more commercial, generic ,corporate, never been so disappointed by a band’s development since that period .. I actually saw them back in 2000 real early , the first ep was colossal, unique, epic , powerful, the album has great moments but it didn’t really deliver on their initial promise for me and a few mates I attended those shows with , each album had strong moments but nowhere near the level and consistency of what they were around 2001 /2002 .. too much too young maybe ..
Yep, I was there from the start, even managed to get good few items signed and got three of the take the long road promo on fierce panda,,,, they were great lads to chat to,,, , they were very talented lads at a young age, from the first time I seen the first video on mtv till there last gig in Leeds,,, I was there,,,,, I hope they guys read this, cause they were brilliant,,,, just guys who wanted to show the world there great talent,,,,
The Belmont St gig in Aberdeen was something special,, bought there blue circle tshirt, then following week on a train showing off the great band to the vfest crowd,,,,,,,
Av got every vinyl, cd and promo they did,, except the cube and the poster,,,,,,,, the only tshirt that wore out was the white and blue circle,, thats gone,,,,,,,,,, but they lads were amazing live,,,,,, seen them loads o times,,,,,,, happy times in the world, and everyone from all parts of the world loved these guys
@@harry.mfowlie9368 pretty impressive for a bunch of schoolkids, Rob could fair dance too live bloody great loved them gutted when they called it a day
sickning how good this band are. seen them so much times from aberdeen to tokyo. was at the last dance aswell in leeds. wont be a better band than these guys ever
The original version! I taped this onto a format called VHS. Then lost it! My brother gave me no end of shit for that. Cheers emimusic. Still love this tune. Saw them at Brixton Academy, MTV2's 5th birthday. Brilliant, they were. So were The Darkness. That'll ruffle some feathers. Janes Addiction were also very good. But i have to admit, it was the Darkness' time.
Were blistering live, particularly The Dance, liked them when they appeared with this circa 2001 but bit of a one trick pony. Exit Calm...now THAT is a live band!
yer they were intense live, songs like the dance, disco they were more intense than exit calm, exit calm obviously had a lot more depth lyrically and musically but Phil was thunderous on the drums so ide take the music at their peak for live intensity
@foolsgoldmarc72 Bollocks, Welcome To The North was a great album, not as good as the previous album maybe but they'd moved on which you have to admire them for.
@foolsgoldmarc72 Admittedly, like many bands, they were rushed into creating their second album, which wasn't as strong as it could have been, but listen to their third release "Strength In Numbers", brilliant album!
Check him out, adam nutter the music guitarist, he has his own channel and has done videos chatting all about his guitars, plus these guys are active again 🙌🙌
This version is very very very early. the version you see and hear all the time is fook all on this.If my mind serves me right their was only 1000 copes of this when it went out . you gotta live DEMO'S arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr SICKKKKKKKKK
If The Music had been around in the era when Rock music was appreciated they would have been superstars.
One of the most under rated bands of a generation.
I AGREE
Yeah!! Why the fek did they go stay in Japan?

So long, so fast, and so long again near to a end, where the energy never dies ?

There coming back
Back and sounding amazing
what kind of guitar is that....it reminds me of a Jack Dent, Steve Rothery/Marillion guitarist signature model.
Check him out, adam nutter the music guitarist, he has his own channel and has done videos chatting all about his guitars, plus these guys are active again 🙌🙌
