- HOW TO DOWNLOAD THE DRIVER:
Go to www.huiontablet.com/support/ and choose H420 [the first on the list], and the operating system that corresponds to your computer [Windows 7/8/8.1/10 and Mac OSX and up]
- Does it work on Windows 10/8/7?
Yes. I had issues with 7, but that was years ago, it's probably fine now.
- What drawing programs does it work with?
Most of them, I recommend Paint Tool SAI and Medibang Paint Pro.
- My pen doesn't work!?
Make sure you have batteries in it or change them out for fresh batteries OR click in the top of the pen to turn it on.
- Does it work on Chromebook?
No.
- Do I have to install the software to make it work?
If you want the pressure sensitivity and want it to work properly, yes.
- Can it work on a Mac?
Yes.
- Can I use it without a computer?
No.
These are just a few of the questions I've gotten repeatedly over the last two years. I will continue to update this list as I notice more similar questions.
hello, I just got one of these and I'm already having some problems that I could some help with, I have SAI but my pen just won't work with it, though I feel like I should mention that I have an unpaid version of SAI and I'm not sure if that has something to do with it, anyway, on my PenTablet settings I only have the Pen Pressure Setting, I just could use some help.
Did you download the driver? If yes, it must be some setting on Paint Tool SAI or just the brush tool ,
I use MediBang Paint Pro and you can turn on Pressure settings by editting the brush, I think there are setting on SAI too, you should check out the oppions perphaps.

I use it on Windows 8, pretty good. I've been recommended a Wacom but I don't have that kinda money, overall pretty good for 30 bucks.

I got it myself for digital art. Pretty solid, especially for $30.
As a beginner, I can’t guarantee that someone who’s used to high end, big tablets will want it, but I’m not even 14 yet so I’m completely broke.

Thanks for this review! It was helpful. this is the smallest tablet I can find . I just purchased the XP-PEN Deco 01 A4 . The drawing surface is the perfect size, it immediately worked with Krita.
I altered the sensitivity curve immediately because the range of sensitivity allows you to draw very lightly or use a ridiculous amount of pressure, like you would never draw on anything with this much force because you would tear through paper or even canvas if you pressed on it with a pointed tool with that much force. You will be able to easily configure the sensitivity to your preferences.
On the Huion H420 , I've never tried it, because it's so small to do digital painting work .
For people who are picky about their tablets, this won’t be for you. There’s no room to be picky for such a small tablet such as this. This is a good tablet for beginners coming from a beginner who is working with it. The drivers were never a problem for me. In my experience with this tablet, it’s amazing. The review on this is really well put together and I will definitely be coming back to you should I choose to go for another tablet or anything else in the future.

this thing's been gathering dust for the past five years. Thought now would be a good time to actually unbox it and play around with it. I only want it for handwriting to text in Powerpoint. Thanks for the review - the first grown-up one I've encountered on here. Outstanding drawing too.

I just ordered a white and blue one, I've been doing digital art for a while as my laptop is touch screen, but there's no pen pressure nor sensitivity, so I wanted to try out with a tablet.

That photoshop error can be fixed by Restarting the computer, I think(have that problem with my previous pentab). Anyway, thanks for this review, will buy one next week. :)

I have a wacom at home for photoshop/lightroom, but I use this when I travel with my laptop, it's quite small (but I guess that's the point), overall it's pretty good for travel.
FYI my pen pressure works well in photoshop with windows 10

I love Huion because its the best tablet for a beginner artist, and if you are on budget its your best choice. I have Huion M708 and I feel so happy and blessed to have it. It is most definitely is a steal for it's price. I recommend putting paper over the tablet while you draw to make it feel more natural. I am very glad to see others artists use Huion because when I first brought this tablet, there was almost no reviews or examples of other's art. I hope more people give this chance over Wacom.

I found on older versions on mac and windows, you have to get on of the oldest versions of the driver. For example, I have a Mac with snow leopard (10.6.8) and I downloaded the oldest driver from 2012, and it worked.
Plus the newest versions of the drivers have no settings for the express keys on the tablet? I noticed that on the current version I'm using on my dads.
But please before you buy the tablet, make sure you're being serious about art. I heard you can get wrist damage from smaller tablets such as this h420 since it's such a small surface you're having to move your wrist a ton. So be careful.

Your hands can actually get cramps from working on such a small space, so I don't recommend using a small tablet often. If you're planning on buying it, use it for on the go sketches, not full intensive illustrations. (You could possible get carpel tunnel if you use such a small tablet very often)

same thing with me, i bought it a while back and it would constantly disconnect, i got frustrated and gave up on it. after a year and a half a got tired of drawing on my android tablet and gave it another change, by this time i had upgraded to windows 10 and is flawless. i have no idea why their driver support became better. i just hope it doesn't start to fail again. overall pretty good.

Thank you so much for this video. I run photoshop on a Windows 7 computer as my primary art program. You saved my arse, thank you! I'd have been super disappointed if I couldn't get it to work after buying it.
aa i always wondered how this little powerhouse worked for drawing, but it's actually used for OSU! by a lot of people because of it's size.
I personally use the Huion New 1060 Plus for drawing, but it's $80, which isn't available for everyone. It's good to know Huion also has affordable/usable tablets. Downside to my 1060 Plus is it doesn't work with SAI, though.
I want a tablet to draw geek diagrams (read flow charts, system architecture, etc etc). I was thinking to buy this one, but since I use big screens, an active area of 4*2.3 would be too small I'd guess. I'll get the Intuos Draw instead.

If you have the extra money and know you will be drawing a lot then that is a much better choice, I agree.

For someone who's never used a drawing tablet before but wants to get into using them would this be a good beginning? I have a Lenovo G575 and was wondering if this would work well.
Will this tablet work with Windows 10 drawing feature in the Photos app as well as the drawing feature in Snip & Fetch?
when u draw a head how can you exactly know where to place the pen to make the body (i dont know if i explained it well)
I get used to things pretty easily like it only took me like a week or 2 while using a mouse n I think the size won't be a problem cuz I have a simple art style n my lap top is pretty small so I think it will fit well 🙂

Nice review mate, it was detailed enough to a point that i didn't need anymore explanation, anyways, i have really big hands, and i just measured the size of the thing in real life, and might i say, it's small, just the length is smaller than my hand's length...
But i guess, i should pour in a couple few dollars to get a bigger tablet.
The Wacom Intuos Draw or XP-Pen Star 05 may be a better fit!
