Huion sent me their 1060 Plus Drawing Tablet so I can test it and give my honest review. In this video I go over some pros and cons and why I think it makes a great budget tablet.
Coming in at just $82.99, the Huion is a real competitor to the popular Wacom brand. Watch the video to see what my thoughts were after testing it each day for about 2 weeks.

This video is extremely helpful! As a beginner artist with a budget of 100$ or so, I was debating on just getting a Wacom Intuos Draw (Since that's what literally everyone else with my budget recommended). However, I decided too look around a bit because I've always considered capability/capacity over brand names. So far I've nearly completely discarded my original plan on going with a Wacom (either a small CTH690AB or a normal CTL490DW, considering I'm trying not to go over 100$), and instead am debating between an UGEE M708 and a Huion H610. Both of them offer so many things that Wacom doesn't within the same price range, and reviews like this really help steel my choice to not use expensive brand names with less offers. Thank you!

I used a wacom tablet like 17years ago, and wanted to buy one for my kid. I thought the intuos was too small, and ended up ordering a xp-pen deco 02 for $80, which had a scrollwheel for zoom/brush size which I thought seemed like a good thing.

I have this tablet for over a year now. I don't have any surface problems but also I never press hard while drawing. So far I do everything with this tablet and didn't find any cons personally (which shocks me!). I also installed it on 2 computers and didn't have any problems with that. I'd recommend this tablet to anyone at any time.

zoom in, zoom out, space bar, shift, Ctrl, alt, and brush +, brush -, undo and redo have been the most used buttons so far. That leaves 2 more I programmed for erase and brush. I almost never use those. I also recommend this tablet for the price it can't be beat.

I actually just got this same tablet. This one is called the *"New" 1060 plus. It's been great so far, the 12 buttons come in handy. My only gripe is once in awhile the buttons stick. Others have had the same issue, but pressing the button again releases it. Drivers worked out of the box for me. No dips on the surface, but I don't press hard. Packed very well. Micro SD port is sweet too.

I bought this one and I so far found few things:
    1) Does not support profiles (so I did a workaround when I am switching the content of the config ini file with my own python script, but I have to do manually - so if I forgot ...)
    2) Have problem with national keyboards - I am czech and I always have to switch to ENGlish keyboard for all the shortcuts to work
    3) No scroll/pan function - that really sucks
    4) The eraser is missing on the other side of the pen - that would be really great to have it there
    5) It is hard to setup the tablet for you native resolution (ratio) when not using the fit area function (found a page which looks does this for me and then I have to manually insert the correct valuesinto the ini file)
    6) My powerfull pc seem to freeze a bit time to time when using the tablet - re-installation of the driver seem to do the trick
    7) Cable location .... they should look for different spot to put the port to

I have this same Huion tablet, but I've never had problems with the drivers or the surface. I had before a Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch and to this day I still have driver problems with it, after installing the Huion I gave it to my brother and he do complains about the same thing.
What I'm saying: there's no much difference between a Wacom in the same price range, besides the pressure sensitivity (Huion has 2048 and the ones from Wacom 1024) and that's a lot. Let's not talk about the size. My laptop screen has almost the same size as the tablet surface and it's so smooth to move around and paint with it. I've never had any problems with the drawing programs I use (Photoshop, Ilustrator, FireAlpaca, MediBang Pro, Open Canvas), but with the Wacom I needed to restart the preferences and/or the computer at least once each time I wanted to draw.
Edit: The Huion 1060 (just take a look at the Huion website) now has 8192 pressure sensitivity levels for the same price, so it's actually even better.

I have this tablet since last Christmas and I don't have your problems at all. If you download latest drivers from huion website you will be fine. Also, I do believe you are pressing way too much on your pen because I also don'T have that problem after 8 months.
Here's my pro's and con's I'Ve put on another youtubers couple months ago. Still relevant as today.
    Here's some pros and cons:
    PROS
    ====
    - Good look
    - Easy drivers install on Win 10 64bits
    - Gloves can be use both hand
    - You get a nice bag for the tablet in the package
    - Get 8gb Tflash card with drivers on (don't use the one from Tflash card, just download from Huion)
    - Pen last for a long time without charging
    - Work almost flawless in Zbrush 4R5 and Photoshop CS5
    - The active area for drawing is insane (10in x 6.25in). I really like it.
    - As said, the surface have a great feeling, not too rough/not too slippery.
    - Not much latency.
    CONS
    =====
-The pen charging cable is short AF (around 2 feet). They are saying you can draw while the pen is plugged but it is only true if you have a laptop. My tower is on the floor and I don't have enough length to do it.
    - Pressure sensibility is not as good as wacom tablet, true fact. It ain't bad but,if you are on real pro stuff, you might pass this one. It do the job tho, no need to worry about it.
    - In painter 2017, pressure sensibility barely have a in-between thin/thick stroke (see video on my channel).
    - Troublesome in Paint SAI, you need to disconnect you mouse or disconnect/reconnect + change some options to make it work (see my channel for more).
    - It might be weird but, my bamboo fun had less pressure sensibility point and I liked it more. Maybe because you need to be more technical with more.

I have a big question. I do graphic design, meaning I make logos and what not. Something that is very important in the way that I do my work is the pressure sensetivity. My question is; Do the lines look thicker depending on how hard you press down? The reason I ask is because I known of some other tablets that have pressure sensetivity but that feature doesn't seem to work on software like Photoshop wich is one of my 2 most used softwares.

    • @MasterGuil
      @MasterGuil 7 лет назад

Yes it is working! You can also tweak it to get better result.
EDIT: You can look at my channel, I have a no sound/no music basic video for Photoshop CS5. Doesn't show much but it was mostly only for pressure sensibility purpose.

Thanks for this review and for telling us that there is other drawing tablets out there than the ones from Wacom.
    I have 2 quick questions:
    1) Is this possible to use for left-handed people? Like, is it possible to turn the tablet around so the left hand doesn't cover the shortcut buttons?
    2) Can you recommend this to a (fast learning) beginner? I haven't used a drawing tablet for more than 10 years and I can see that a lot have happened since then!

I just bought the Huion 1060 Plus tablet off eBay and I'm very excited to try it out. It will be my very first drawing tablet too because I mostly do traditional art or use my computer mouse for drawing in Photoshop which can hurt my arm after a while and can be time consuming, as well as not too neat. I have been looking at Wacom tablets before either online or local stores but have always been a little scared to buy them because they feel too much out of my price range. My Huion tablet cost $89 so a little bit more than what you can get for it but still under $90.

I will probably buy this tablet, because I'm more of a traditional art guy and I don't know if I'll like it so I don't want to go for an expensive Wacom for my first one. My question is - does it have touch support? Can I zoom in and out, rotate on the fly just using my hand? It's not a big deal if it doesn't support that, there are still buttons for that, but it would be cool if that's a feature.

I currently have an Intous Draw with Pen and Touch, which was about 90$, but I'm considering this because not only can I fully afford it (my parents ended up helping me out around with 20 dollars when purchasing my Wacom tablet as a gift) but it actually seems pretty good. Currently the problem I'm having is my tablet doesn't have enough hotkeys, and it keeps glitching a bit on my art programs- otherwise, it's pretty great. I'm just wondering if it's worth it with the small cons-plus spending another 80 dollars on a tablet- or if I should just stick to the one I have.

I know that this is vital in drawing tablets, and I was curious on this one. Second, can this work on a Windows 10 computer? Please, anyone who has answers!

So i bought Asus VivoTab Note 8 for 100$, which is 8" hd ips display and with build in "no need to recharge wacom pen with 1024 pressure levels", that is killer feature for me.

I have the Huion 580 drawing tablet, and so far I have had no problems with it as all and I use Windows 10 and Ubuntu 17.04 (I had to search Google for the drivers for Linux) and for under £50 I could not ask for a better drawing tablet

Ugh. I can't decide, which tablet to chose for digital painting. This one... Or the Gaomon M106K... Or the XP-Pen Star 06... Or maybe the Wacom Intuos Draw M...
What do you think, Charley? I worked with a Medion Tablet (40 bucks at Aldi, yay...) for at least 6 years, and I don't have much money to spent.

Hey Sassy Killjoy, one day after posting my comment I decided to buy the XP-Pen Star 06 (because of the scroll wheel).
It took me two days untill I had the driver running (it turned out that the problem was with my Windows 7, not with the driver), but since then I use it daily for at least an hour, and I haven't regret it once.
It's really good to work with. Much better pressure sensitivity than my old one, and a better work surface as well. (But since I didn't have the chance to paint on one of the other two I don't know if they wouldn't be even better. Who knows...)

Hello, I have this tablet but it has issues in Photoshop & Chrome browser. It just often stucks entire program and I need to wait several seconds, then it repeats all the pen commands I previously made. It is impossible to use it properly because if this. I have tried all driver versions.
Does your tablet work flawlessly in these programs?
    Thanks
