based on my experience between a pen display and a tablet. I agree graphic tablet is better because I was able to last longer working on my art. I’d say professionally a pen display or a graphics tablet are mostly the only option, as you said, because of the software. As a hobby, I’d say a tablet is better as you can use it to reproduce films, play games, etc. Some argue that graphics tablets are even better than pen displays because with pen displays you tend to force your back into bad postures. I’ve never had one so i cant really tell, but i think we tend to do the same thing while drawing on paper. In summary, your back with pen displays: / . With graphics tablets: | . Great video Teoh ✌️
In my experience; unless you also have issues with the hand eye coordination of the mouse, or think the display will provide a better color monitor than your main one - the only thing you are buying with a display vs a tablet with the extra hundreds of dollars is skipping adjustment period. In other words, one does not confer long term advantage over the other - maybe for your neck, but then align your monitor. It is not like mouse vs pen - where one provides a definitive advantage with pressure control over the other.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Such drawing tablets and pen displays don't require much computing power. Any computer from past 5 years can run them very easily.

I don't know whether it's a normal or not. I have problems with my hands so I wasn't getting used to it no matter what I did. Then, after a very very very long break, I tried to pick it up again and I saw a tip to put a piece of paper over the Tablet Surface. All of a sudden, my hand and my eyes synced up perfectly despite being in completely different places. You should try it if that's the kind of thing you're dealing with.
@@Fairygoblet Thanks for the tip! I might try the paper thing as well. I haven't tried a tablet with a screen yet, but I don't feel like I've been doing very good without one.

I just can't get used to be drawing and not seeing what I draw. Rn i am thinking of buying ipad or display tablet. The posture is still bad using the graphic tablet because you are looking at the screen, and it does not stop your back from bending
Maybe I'm missing something seeing as I have never used a pen tablet, but one negative I see with it is, as you're drawing something, it's so easy to lose where you were because there's no picture on the tablet itself.
Drawing without a screen will take sometime to get used to. It's like how you can accurately click on things with a mouse, except now you're using a pen.
@@teohontech7141 But the one difference is that with a mouse you could follow the cursor, but with the pen, every time you lift it up and place it somewhere else, it’s harder to follow because you don’t know where you left off on the tablet..
The tablet drawing surface is mapped directly onto the display area, so when you place your pen on the tablet, you will know exactly where your cursor will be. E.g. Do you move your mouse just to find where the cursor is? Cursor can be anywhere until you shake your mouse. You won't have such issue with the pen.
I had this problem. I thought it was because I have weak hand-eye coordination, but I saw a temper to put a piece of paper over the Tablet Surface and it looks almost exactly like my normal paper drawing. It turns out my hand was sliding all over the plastic surface and I was losing control of my lines
i have XP-Pen G430s pen tablet since 3 years ago, but i think it was too small for me and uncomfortable when zooming a lot and sometimes my pen was lagged when using Photoshop so i'm planning to get another device, but i'm still beginner... should i choose ipad or buying pen tablet with android support? (tbh i'm finding a good phone too because my old phone is lagging and slow, but my budget is around $520 so i'm confused to choose what i need now hehehe)
The comparison is very shallow, focuses mainly about the price, doesn't talk about the ergonomics, system compatibility and setup, etc.

By the way, I used the video editing program too .just a small business 😅😅😅. (For youtube )
Thanks
I'm not sure what you're asking. Such drawing tablets and pen displays don't require much computing power. Any computer from past 5 years can run them very easily.
@@teohontech7141 ok .so I don't obligatory USD Geforce GPU . I can give up with MX Gpu
I am very very new.. so maybe a silly question. are there tablets available that work like a normal one but can be used for digital art? my brothers office provides stipend for computer accessories and academic stuff (academic books mostly) so I want to know if there is anything that might fit into that?
What do you mean by normal?
I have a horrible setup in my worky space, so I will use an Ipad as a display tabet. Graphics tableta are more uncomfortable to use
Hi i have a wacom intout art (the old version 2k pressure sensitivity) i really need to upgrade it I've been thinking either wacom intous pro or kamvas 16 pro i have never had a pen display before but i feel like it'd be much comfortable to draw straight lines and details on the other hand intous pro is a very good product you can't go wrong with it what would anyone recommend ?
Nowadays pen display tech and drawing experience are very good. You can just go with any brand or product that fits your budget.
@@teohontech7141 thanks your channel really helped me
i switched from a display tablet to a graphic tablet. But I still cant get used to it even after a week. Is this normal?
It's been more than 6 months i bought a graphic tablet.... my art is really bad literally with the graphic tablet
My traditional art is soooo much better like everything. I just can't get used to be drawing and not seeing what I draw. Rn i am thinking of buying ipad or display tablet. The posture is still bad using the graphic tablet because you are looking at the screen, and it does not stop your back from bending
I have a question. I am planning to buy an XP Pen and tablet. So, will the pen be responsive on my iPad too?
The pens are not interchangeable
@@teohontech7141 Alright. Thanks! :)
A worthy video👍
I have one of the wacom pen tablets with no screen, and when I hover the pen over it, it shows up on my computer screen just like a mouse would.
for home 22-24 pen display for mobil ipad pro
Concepts !
so you're telling me something 300-500$ compares to something 40-80$? what is the benefits at such a price difference.
i have XP-Pen G430s pen tablet since 3 years ago, but i think it was too small for me and uncomfortable when zooming a lot and sometimes my pen was lagged when using Photoshop
so i'm planning to get another device, but i'm still beginner...
should i choose ipad or buying pen tablet with android support? (tbh i'm finding a good phone too because my old phone is lagging and slow, but my budget is around $520 so i'm confused to choose what i need now hehehe)
if you need a phone aswell android is your only option if you want a tablet for example the tab s6 lite is good with spen for cheap.
@@SimonBauer7 okay thanks, so i should choose phone for this time because my phone is suffering heavy lag
latency?
I wish all iPad comments just dissapear. Im not paying that exp for a regular tablet just cuz its apple, or buying 4 yo old model to get cheaper
800th like 😁
PENI… awww
The comparison is very shallow, focuses mainly about the price, doesn't talk about the ergonomics, system compatibility and setup, etc.
pen display is not a professional tablet, it is for noobs, no control, the hand is in front of the details you work so you block your details work, and you have to be carefull, its is no portable, lack of controls like ressistant wheels, a good wheel you can find it in the pen tablets pro, in pen tablets you can have more speed than pen display... Pen display is for people that draw awful, and likes manga hentai and god knows what else, i do prefer pen table for zbrush, 3d max, krita or painter. the pc monitor is more bigger than a pen display, and if you work 8 or 10 hours a day, you will lose your vission sooner or late, myopia!. your back is gona be hurt a big, and your entire carrer does not takes 5 years, if you are a pro, you do your job for years, i mean, 20, 30 years, just imagine that with a pen display.
based on my experience between a pen display and a tablet. I agree graphic tablet is better because I was able to last longer working on my art. And I noticed these days professionals recommend tablets.
You do know pen tablets are like drawing on paper right? So the hand being in the way, posture etc., are the same exact things you deal with drawing on paper which has been done for eternity by the best artists to exist. So you're logic makes absolutely no sense as far as "blocking details with your hand"
@@letsplaynay9936 Just because people have been doing it for centuries doesn't somehow make it better. If anything it makes it worse because that means its outdated and old-school.
...because you said so?
yes you are right. I even draw with MOUSE before I have a Pen tablet.
they just hate the fact they already bought a expensive display tablet and wanting to justify their decision.
