I don´t watch this show but I loved how the character of Goodwin handled/explained the situation (beautifully - talking with Connor, how this would benefit the hospital, the endangered species of pandas) but the way she said it. She was calmed, assertive...brilliant. To me that was perfection in acting. Much more so that other clips I´ve seen with dramatic situations.

No it is not. You would need to have Fellowship as a veterinary surgeon. Not to mention all the hygiene issues you would have in the hospital. You'd have to quarantine the whole wing and throw away all the equipment. Plus the panda's weight would probably break some of the equipment and the face masks and other equipment wouldn't fit. I mean cutting through a panda's chest is not exactly easy either.

I’m trained to do human BLS but I had a hard time locating pulse on a healthy dog & cat. This is so unrealistical. A vet can do a surgery while a human cardio surgeon can supervise.

Ok, I've not seen the episode, but I did watch a documentary series set at Chester Zoo. They had an operating theater for the animals. If they didn't have the knowledge wouldn't it have been better to send him to the panda than the panda to him. I know then there's no story and its a fascinating clip, but you see several surgeries in that documentary series.
