Sounds of stone chipping wood echo'ed across the jungles of Tenochtitlan, local wildlife fleeing the tall treetops as they came crashing down. For thousands of years, the nomadic desert dwellers called the vast planes to the east their home. But now, protected by the lush and fertile jungles, the Aztec people began to set up permanent shelters. The time of wandering had come to an end. Now was the time to build a legacy.
Smoothcrimina705 I don't think so...I mean, I don't have the game since my pc was stolen by a latin "technician" "fixing" my computer. That was 5 months ago, and I have enough money to get another one. That will be my own Christmas present, yay.
I think you should declare war on Sparta because in the ancient era, there isnt warmonger penalty and your eagle warriors are really strong combined with your policies, its a good decision to just take out Sparta while you have the opportunity
I just started playing this game yesterday for the first time where I did random leaders and the "earth" map type. I ended up with Egypt (using Cleopatra) and built a city right by the ocean. This game is a lot more fun than I thought it would be!
You will want at least 3 Eagle Warriors, so you can have zone of control around Sparta to siege it. That way the city will not heal. You also missed the tribal village to the south, by the culture city state, across the river, by your scout. IMO if you don't take out the first and maybe even second civilization you meet as the Aztecs, you will not have built up enough of a lead to win the game after your unique units and abilities become obsolete.
Kristopher Nekula thats really cool, i'm a bit of a culture freak myself. I speak 5 languages an im learning russian and polish right now, more are coming ^-^
The Aztec people has walked far under the leadership of their leader Chief Montezuma, until they came across the lands that would be their home. As the people built the first houses the proud Eagle warriors set out to explore this new land and find some to volunteers to be builders, violently if necessary. On their journey they found a friendly village who were more than happy to send some workers to Tenochtitlan, and some barbarians who look very strong and so while getting into a position to ambush the barbarians and take many builders, they came across a large set of mountains the looked like tiger teeth and so they called it, Torres Del Plane. Sadly, none of the barbarians survived the ambush to be taken as workers, but the proud Eagle warriors found a place where their people might want to settle. The workers that came to Tenochtitlan from the friendly village were made to work immediately and one of them was made into a scout because he was fast and knew the land. Some days after embarking on his scouting journey, he came across another village, this one seems to be skeptical to send workers to Tenochtitlan, but the scout was able to get one worker on his way with information about the village and continued and his way. Few days after meeting Vilnius, for that was the name of the village, the scout meet a warrior of the Greeks and told Montezuma of them in a letter sent by falcon, that the Greeks were weak and would be easy to conquer especially with a women as a leader. And next to the warrior was a friendly village that shared with the scout plans for a boat that was also in the letter.
The unique building is the original basketball court where two slaves would use there his to knock a leather ball through the hoops. After potentially days the first point is awarded and the game is over. The winner is sacrificed to the gods and honored and the looser is executed and shamed.
I like Civilization, but the one problem I've had with it is that different nations/civilizations all feel the same. It doesn't matter who you pick, because the vast majority of things for each one is the same. I haven't played since Civ 4 though, so I don't know if everyone feels different and looks different now.
As my family has military experience, any nation needs a three-point base of survival: army, resources and commonality (religious faith, etc.). However, I enjoyed your video. Thank you.
Hey S.G. The Torres Del Pain acts as a mountain and gives double bonus to tiles next to it, so would that work for a Holy Sight, not only giving the bonus for being next to a Natural Wonder and Mountain but also the N.W. themed bonus? As well as a Campus?
For marshes can you build districts or wonders on it without having to remove the marsh? Or do you need to use a builder to remove the terrain in order to build on it?
Correct me if i'm wrong... but isn't the stone carving in the background of the thumbnail a Mayan carving as opposed to an Aztec one? (Again I could easily be wrong)
Actually, it was used in both Aztec and Mayan calendars. So, you are correct. The mesoamerican calendars were very similar looking. The image I used is technically the Mayan one, only because there isn't a better image of the Aztec calendar. The only thing that changes slightly is the face in the middle. Other than that, they are identical.
The Solar Gamer I thought you had set days in which you uploaded Civilization and other game videos? Sorry it's been a while since I followed your channel.
Not anymore. The schedule works better if I assign videos to a week, rather than a day. In this case, Civilization VI will come out three times a week. I do try putting them out the same time each week, but if I can't then it doesn't stress me out. I understand this is very inefficient for viewers, and I will try to work on it. At the moment, though, I am just trying to make a comeback with the channel. So far, it's working well.
It will be available to everyone who didn't pre order in 3 months which is a bit stupid, should've been at least a month if not no pre order bonus at all.
Alright fucking anyone over probably wasn't the right way to say it but I still think that you should be able to buy them for like a few bucks after the release if you didn't pre order. Because by watching you play them makes me want to play them and i won't be able to until January.
Aztecs seems realy strong, just beat their face as Roman in my first complete game (thanks to tecnological supremacy) but i definitevely want to play them as my next civ!
Yes go for early conquest and take out Greece!!!! Very historical for the Aztecs, well at least being very warlike, they never really took out Greece. lol
**I'll just remove that comment chain** Did you pre-order the game? That was the prerequisite for the Aztecs. If not, I think they are releasing it for free soon.
You've never played as the Aztecs before. Egypt looks nice. A combination of Civ 5 Egypt and Morocco especially with that trade route. Holy cow, Kongo is awesome! You won't have to worry about a religion until someone meets you and converts you. And that's a ton of stuff just from relics and great works. Spain is really good for religion too. So instead of jaguars, you have eagle warriors. And the difference is pretty nice. Build a lot of them and slay barbarians and you'll have an army of workers to work on your cities. And that's what that sport is called. Or at least the location of it. A tlachtli. The description is pretty gruesome. Torres del Paine looks awesome. Another new and unique natural wonder. Atlantis is no longer surrounded by ocean! 15:13 Wouldn't you still get the adjacency bonus from the mountains as well as the rainforest? So, there are two people from Greece? Okay then...eagle warriors vs. hoplites!
Sadly, the campus adjacency bonus is from two rainforest tiles, that location only has one. There is another location to the East that will work perfectly though.
Ryan! Settle the wonder! Though crabs are not a luxury resource anymore from what I heard. Also remember that she can't defend herself with city bombardment without walls! Stay Awesome dude!
The Solar Gamer I agree but the main reason I dislike it is cause it removes a lot naval combat, but the same could also be said about fractal which make land invasions harder, but at least it doesn't almost remove all the sea combat as Pangaea does
Where's Hearts of iron man I was loving that series! I mean, I can see that you're cranking out civ 6 so don't exhaust yourself or anything but if you get a minute i'd appreciate it.
11:33 WTF is with that description, "Feminist and Correspondent"? They couldn't find an archaeologist or a quote from an explorer and had to choose a feminist? >.>
She was technically an explorer. She travelled around for Great Britain as a War Correspondent and is actually most known for her trek across Patagonia.
Sounds of stone chipping wood echo'ed across the jungles of Tenochtitlan, local wildlife fleeing the tall treetops as they came crashing down. But now, protected by the lush and fertile jungles, the Aztec people began to set up permanent shelters. The time of wandering had come to an end. Now was the time to build a legacy.
IceLordCryo please try to do this for every episode.
I do this in my mind for every Paradox/civilization game I play or see an lp on
Nicholas Roberts thats my goal ;)
IceLordCryo BRAVO
That would turn Sid Meiers on 😂
"Seven AI including us"
Solar Gamer is our robot overlord confirmed.
This series got me to buy this game 3 years ago and now I have 800+ hours. Thank you SolarGamer
Got a Civ VI ad. Sweet, two videos in one.
Bloody knew it, Aztecs are always first. If you go for another religious victory (reasons vary) remember, nobody expects the Aztec inquisition!
Dire Miralis that is true.
Ronald Reagan Monty Python always wins. Try to deny it? 'Tis but a scratch.
Smoothcrimina705 I don't think so...I mean, I don't have the game since my pc was stolen by a latin "technician" "fixing" my computer. That was 5 months ago, and I have enough money to get another one. That will be my own Christmas present, yay.
SPANISH INQUISITON
Some of us cant get the game til money happens... so those of us who can't play yet appreciate this so much. Thanks and keep up the good work
I think you should declare war on Sparta because in the ancient era, there isnt warmonger penalty and your eagle warriors are really strong combined with your policies, its a good decision to just take out Sparta while you have the opportunity
up till medieval era, actually
YESSS I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR DAYSSS! This is my first time ever watching your series as soon as they come out!
"not like my son" HA, i see what you did there, Turner!
Savage Gaming not my SUN
You did not get that Inspiration towards Foreign Trade because you've met Vilnius.
You've got it by discovering a New Continent :D
I just started playing this game yesterday for the first time where I did random leaders and the "earth" map type. I ended up with Egypt (using Cleopatra) and built a city right by the ocean. This game is a lot more fun than I thought it would be!
Ive been playing the game nonstop but honestly i just watch for the commentary :D
You will want at least 3 Eagle Warriors, so you can have zone of control around Sparta to siege it. That way the city will not heal. You also missed the tribal village to the south, by the culture city state, across the river, by your scout. Right on the marsh between the mountains is the best place for the campus. 2 mountains, and 2 jungle tiles for +3 adjacency.
You pronounced Tlatoani correct. Just know that "X" in Nahuatl (language of the Aztecs) make a "sh" sound, and in most Mesoamrican languages as well.
Thank you! I'll try my best, but I did choose a civ whose cities are going to be extremely hard for me to pronounce ;D
Kristopher Nekula wait do you actually speak nehuatl?
No, but I have had an interest in Mesoamerican cultures since I was a kid.
Kristopher Nekula thats really cool, i'm a bit of a culture freak myself. I speak 5 languages an im learning russian and polish right now, more are coming ^-^
Jeez, that's impressive. I barely have the brain capacity for two languages ;D
I like how buildings and roads aren't glitching inside farms and mines and stuff like in Civ 5.
I should sleep... but there's a reason why i support you on patreon ;P
;D
Joshua Packbier hi
I’m back here during the 4 month hiatus, gonna enjoy this full play through one more.

Imagine the Aztecs in the Atomic Age: Aztecs in SPAAAAAAACCCEEEEEE *50s announcer voice*
Just a tip cutting down forests provides a large boost in production which will obviously help you produce things faster.
Is that Sean Bean aka Ned Stark talking about aztecs? If so, thats awesome lol
Yes. He does narration.
Sean Bean is the narrator for the entire game.
Linkbest Lexi You're funny! LOL!😜
The unique building is the original basketball court where two slaves would use there his to knock a leather ball through the hoops. After potentially days the first point is awarded and the game is over. The winner is sacrificed to the gods and honored and the looser is executed and shamed.
Darth Potato seems just like basketball.
I figured I'd start my interest in civ VI the same way I started in civ V. Looking forward to the series. :)
Your videos are really good, keep up the great work!
You were right about Torres Del Paine! It is in Chile!
Yes more leaders per civ. I love this game even more now.
I like Civilization, but the one problem I've had with it is that different nations/civilizations all feel the same. It doesn't matter who you pick, because the vast majority of things for each one is the same. I haven't played since Civ 4 though, so I don't know if everyone feels different and looks different now.
kumasi is in Ghana
Love it! Maybe next series you could be the new USA!
Tip: It is VERY important to utilize hills and forests and jungles, enemies attacking your units will not fight as well.
As my family has military experience, any nation needs a three-point base of survival: army, resources and commonality (religious faith, etc.). However, I enjoyed your video. Thank you.
Hey S.G.

I'm sadly to pior to own this wonderful game. I've played the third one and instantly fell in love with the series.
Very nice, some more rice.
Scouting the land with the scout band.
11:30 imagine that with a salt start (in civ 5 anyway) or other natural wonders..... Wow that would be awesome!!
Straight off the bat you should have saved your city spot for your first campus. All those rainforest bonuses..
For marshes can you build districts or wonders on it without having to remove the marsh? Or do you need to use a builder to remove the terrain in order to build on it?
Branden Sebastian The wonder removes the terrain but you don't get the bonuses for removing terrain
Nicholas Roberts ohh okay, thanks!
3:45 . . . . . alaagdjgohsdajghdsaa . . . . . ooo thats a lot . . aight, XD im dying hahahhhhah
i love this channel
When's the next one gonna be?
missed that village hut man haha
Would you suggest getting the game now or waiting?
Correct me if i'm wrong... but isn't the stone carving in the background of the thumbnail a Mayan carving as opposed to an Aztec one? (Again I could easily be wrong)

The Solar Gamer Cool, cool
I hope you're going to make more videos of this series soon
Another one is coming out tomorrow ;)
The Solar Gamer I thought you had set days in which you uploaded Civilization and other game videos? Sorry it's been a while since I followed your channel.

Wait are the devs planning on making multiple leaders for some other civs as well, not just Greece?
Last time I watched you it was Minecraft With Friends! I miss that series 😭😂
How about the hill that is next to the mountain, the river and the two jungle tiles
You should disable autounitcycle in the config file. It just causes miss clicks.
6:18 for actual gameplay
keep it up bro!
It will be available to everyone who didn't pre order in 3 months which is a bit stupid, should've been at least a month if not no pre order bonus at all.
I agree it is the truth. Fucking over people that didn't pre order.
3 months is a bit long, but it's hardly fucking anyone over.
Alright fucking anyone over probably wasn't the right way to say it but I still think that you should be able to buy them for like a few bucks after the release if you didn't pre order. Because by watching you play them makes me want to play them and i won't be able to until January.
The solar gamer reminds me of my music teacher
Aztecs seems realy strong, just beat their face as Roman in my first complete game (thanks to tecnological supremacy) but i definitevely want to play them as my next civ!
the brave eagle warriors and the avian menace im looking for a bird hating space faring race so we can start a joint war with these damn birds
does anybody know how to make farms that help with food and production
When's the next episode?
the crabs in civ 6 aren't luxury resources anymore. they are bonus resource now
Also saw that Yesterday, that totally Got me :O
I'm so used to my little Crabs that bring a lot of Smile into my Empire :c
Yes go for early conquest and take out Greece!!!! Very historical for the Aztecs, well at least being very warlike, they never really took out Greece. lol
You could of moved your city down one tile and then build a campus district where your city is
Civ VI is a solid game, here's to hoping it does even better than V.
Eagle Warriors are basically a nerfed Quechua from civ4 with a nice ability
I got the deluxe edition but I don't have the Aztecs?
**I'll just remove that comment chain** Did you pre-order the game? That was the prerequisite for the Aztecs. If not, I think they are releasing it for free soon.
The Solar Gamer
1. HOLY SHUT THE SOLAR GAMER RESPONDED OMG OMG
*ahem*
2. No I did not, thank you for the info
Aztecs ooooo u wanted to see them
I NEED MORE CIV 6 BADLY ITS BEEN 2 DAYS
im new so what happens if you were to go the war monger route
Everyone else dies ;D
Every other Civilization will most likely hate me, but in a game focused on war. That isn't really that bad.
Tlatchli is pronounced Tla-ch-li. You also pronounced Tlatoani correctly.
torres del pain 😂😂😂 paine is pronouced PIE-nay
and yes you are right patagonia south of chile
Please do more often
MOARR
Gonna take me a while to get used to this new map
You've never played as the Aztecs before. Egypt looks nice. A combination of Civ 5 Egypt and Morocco especially with that trade route. Holy cow, Kongo is awesome! I was thinking today , why not wach solar gamer... haven't watched one of his videos in a long time
Just so you know, Tenochtitlan is pronounce Teh-nok-tee-tlan
Yeah, the funny thing is I knew that. I don't know why I said it the way I did :P
If the name causes trouble, just call it Mexico City. That's what it's called now.
It's Teh-nohch-tee-tlan actually.
I'm glad solar doesn't pick Pangaea. Cause man have I seen so many Pangaea series
I don't really like Pangaea. I know it's great in a war-driven game, but I feel too claustrophobic on those maps.
The Solar Gamer I agree but the main reason I dislike it is cause it removes a lot naval combat, but the same could also be said about fractal which make land invasions harder, but at least it doesn't almost remove all the sea combat as Pangaea does
I Love the civ sereas
Torres del paine is from Chile
I see a super OP spot for a holy site
Yeah, I currently have two REALLY good spots for a Campus and Holy Site.
Great vid I think you should try on your Japan series go more for the city's
in the aztec language ch was sometimes pronounced ch so its tlacktle
Solar Gamer! Kumasi is n Ghana :)
Is this full game now?
It is.
yup
yes
Please put a Campus inbetween those two mountains and two jungles to your east.
Yeah, I saw that while editing. It is the perfect place to put it in this city.
PyreStarite you can only build one of every type of district per city so it's either jungle or mountains
There is one tile 3 east with 2 adjacent jungles and 2 adjacent mountains.
PyreStarite it might take awhile to get there but other than that it would be a nice early science boost
wasn't the first civ he chose for 5 the mayans?
Yep! That's exactly why I am starting Civilization VI off with the Aztecs ;D
The Solar Gamer thought so
The Solar Gamer hope it doesn't end like the Mayans cough* England cough* nice video btw
aw I don't have the game 😢
Where's Hearts of iron man I was loving that series! I mean, I can see that you're cranking out civ 6 so don't exhaust yourself or anything but if you get a minute i'd appreciate it.
That wonder doubles. your district yield
No Inca in civ 6? Tawantinsuyu deserves to be a Civ in the game they put them in Civ V. Pacha was the man.
The Aztec's have crabs.
Looks like I made it :p
in my first game I started on 6 and by turn 80 I had rome clobberd. I was keeping up technologicly and I left off getting ready to invade france.
But the setup part is my favourite part of these types of games
I really want to like Civ6 but FFS I feel so completely confused with this split tech tree.
spending time on it myself? didn't think so...am broke af... 😭😭😭😭😭
kumasi is in ghana
Nahuatl is a fun language
11:33 WTF is with that description, "Feminist and Correspondent"? They couldn't find an archaeologist or a quote from an explorer and had to choose a feminist? >.>
She was technically an explorer. She travelled around for Great Britain as a War Correspondent and is actually most known for her trek across Patagonia.
Fyi Solar, crabs are basic resources in Civ 6. Whales are the sea lux >.
But... I want to give my crabs to other leaders... :(
Phrasing
;D
Just so you know, Tenochtitlan is pronounced Ten-oct-it-lawn. ;)
