Deep within the jungle of Tenochtitlan, gathering around the ornate podium at the city's center, the Aztec people watched in awe as their leader Grand Eagle Ryan ascended the stairwell. The discovery of not one, but TWO weakling cultures to the south had sparked unrest among the citizens. Once Ryan reached the podium's peak, grand featherdress silhouetted by the roaring brazers flanking the wooden tower on which he stood. "PEOPLE OF THE JUNGLE!" He bellowed, thrusting both arms high into the air. The gathered crowed instantly hushed, giving the Grand Eagle the respect he deserved. "I HAVE HEARD YOUR PLEAS AND HAVE CONSULTED THE GODS OF YEWTOOB FOR GUIDANCE!!" Stepping forward into the light of the grand piers, the fire reflecting in his eyes, Ryan continued. "THE LATEST INSULT FROM THE SO CALLED 'SPARTANS' IS THE LAST STRAW! THE GODS DEMAND THEIR DESTRUCTION!" The crowed irrupted into applause, the men thrusting their obsidian lased swords high into the air. From this day forward, everything the people of Tenochtitlan did was to aid in the destruction of the Greek people. For the Aztec alone were to be the dominant culture in this world. The gods themselves have decreed it.
*macuahuitl Also, as obisdian is a glass, which lacks a crystal structure, they aren't crystal, but yes, it was a wood club with obsidian razors studding the edges. Obsidian is actually many, many times sharper then a steel edge due to the fact it lacks that crystal structure, to the point where a well made obsdian razor can be nearly only a single molecule thick at the edge.
Well, it doesnt have to be strong, considering that armor is basically non-existent in the Americas until the arrival of the Europeans. Correct me if Im wrong.
Super Kawaii Hitler They had "armor", but not in the sense you'd be used to. They wore cotton underpadding that was soaked in mineral rich water and dried so the inside of the cotton fabric would get tough from mineral crystallization to the where it could stop arrows and other damage, and variously had other wood/cloth/hide/feather layers on top of that. Actually, most of the spainish abandoned their steel armor and switched to the same cotton armor the natives used pretty early into their campaign due to the climate.
Jabberwockxeno Yeah, that was pretty much point, though I have never heard of the Spanish abandoning their armor for cloth. I have to guess that the reason why they opted to change from heavy mail armor to light cloth uniforms is because of that huh?
The weapon that the Eagle Warriors are using is called the Macuahuitl (pronounced Maka-wheet-L.) It is a Wooden sword with Obsidian blades. It can be used as either a bludgeoning weapon or a slashing weapon.
it's 2019, but new people will be coming to see the video, you could have placed holy site to your supposed placement of campus(switching their places) to get more rainforest bonuses for faith
As the Aztec scout walks along the terrain dodging barbarians and Greeks, he comes across a person and after discovering that they are from a empire called Brazil the scout is invited to meet their leader King Pedro. After a short discussion the scout left and sent word to Montezuma about Brazil and continued on his journey. Meanwhile in Tenochtitlan, after weeks of intense training, another group of Eagle warriors are ready for the invasion. The target of the invasion is still unclear as Montezuma gets the news about Brazil and is wondering which one is more vulnerable to an attack. His choice was made for him when Gorgo insulted him by calling him a coward of war. With his mind made up, Montezuma orders all present and future Eagle warriors to prepare to attack Sparta. In the north, the proud Eagle warriors found another barbarian tribe and destroyed it like the last one, and like the last one no workers were captured. With this threat gone, they prepare to move south to join the other Eagle warrior. Montezuma found himself wandering around in a fog seemingly aimlessly, but it doesn't make any sense to him. He thought that he went to bed late at night, but here he was in the middle of a fog in who-knows-where. If someone kidnapped him, then he would be tied up and questioned by the kidnappers. As he wandered in the fog, it suddenly lifted and the first thing he saw was a village like his, but something was different. He soon realized that the glow of torches in the night was actually the buildings on fire. As he investigated, he came across a group of his Eagle warriors captured and about to be beheaded. When he ran to help them, he noticed a group of unknown warriors running towards him and as he raised his nacuahuitl ready to fight them, the warriors ran through him and that's when he realized that this must be a dream. But, he wondered, what kind of a dream was this. Is this a message of the future or had he drank too much at dinner. Before he could explore this dreamland, he suddenly woke up in a pool of sweat to find it morning. As he sat there he wondered if it was really a message about the future and then there was a knock on his door and his servant came in to make sure he was dressed appropriately for the day. Montezuma decide to ponder on his dream before asking the elders what they thought and listened as his servant listed the day's events.
Honestly the amount of people acting like it's been a decade since you've posted like damn people. He literally said on the first video this'll be up today.
Torres should be pronounced with a rolled 'r' Paine should be pronounced like pine with an a at the end, but just the first part of the english "a" dipthong
26:20(ish) You CANNOT, in ANY way, remove LUXURY resources from the map! Well other than settling on them but that doesn't help with the mega campus because then the city would be in the way! Yeah, yeah, I know, YEARS later but I stumbled on the videos who knows who else might too! I am sure by this point he knows that about Luxury Resources!
The giant hole symbolizes the cliffs the babies would be thrown off of with malnormalities and dysfunctions. Only the strongest and best of the best was allowed to live into adulthood. The messenger in the movie symbolizes the weakness that Leonidas cast down just like the Young that get rejected due to weakness.
😓😓😓 I was hoping he would decide against taking out Sparta. I understand it would be easier now, rather than later, but I wanted to see an Alliance similar to the one you had during the Rome play through, with Gangis Khan. But with less back stabbing and more stability
Aww, Mt. Kilimanjaro doesn't provide the free promotion to ignore hills anymore. Well, that's a shame that you can't make barbarians into builders. What caused Gorgo's change in attitude? Can you put campuses on resources though? Is that an option?
Seeing his luck, I bet his next civ 6 game (Hopefully Germany, even if Hitler didn't appear) Will literally be in a barren wasteland and all natural wanders are in his enemies' lands.
Andy Doyle the graphics just look worse to me. It used to be these realistic depictions of the most famous leaders. Now they're like these random Pixar cartoon characters. The over world map from the last game looked realistic as well. And this one has this weird old pirate map with the geographical features made out of play doh or something. Idk it just looks worse to me.

have you ever considered writing Fanfiction cause i would fav and follow this
firem78910 i actually am working on a proper book inspired by a CK2 game i played.
IceLordCryo In the Aztec culture the "king" was actually called "El Dios Sol" wich means "The Sun God". Also this comment is awesome.
Interesting, I'll keep that in mind for when Ryan changes his government
Tlatoani is the title of Aztec's emperors, so that might be helpful for your comments.
The Jaguar sword was made from wood with obsidian crystals attached, and it was called nacuahuitl or macua for short.
*macuahuitl

Obsidian is brittle, therefore useless after a few swings.

About bloody time ur Aztec series is golden MAKE MORE!!!
Dude, that marsh SE of your capital is the best place for the campus. 2 mountains, 2 jungle tiles.
It is within 3 tiles btw.
Oh man... I'm really loving this game. The artstyle... the new features... Anyone agree?
Yup
Well, now I have to go and buy Civ VI!
Great presentation, very easy to just load one more episode and just enjoy the shenanigans!

At 5:47 Gorgo offered you 4 gold per turn for nothing...
Typical Civilization AI. Doing it's thing with the grace of a dead, headless horse.
No it was switched so ryan would have had to give her 4gpt for nothing
(Also yes I’m aware I’m late I’m rewatching XD)
it's 2019, but new people will be coming to see the video, you could have placed holy site to your supposed placement of campus(switching their places) to get more rainforest bonuses for faith
I'm pretty sure the mountains are pronounced like this: toh-rays del pie-ee-nay
Settle next to Torres del Paine because you get double yields for all tiles around it
Commenting on a long-past episode but black broth I believe is an authenticly Spartan mixture of animal blood and such.
Do an extra long episode!! I can't wait for moreeeee

You post the second episode just as I begin to forget about this series....Will you post more often or is this on a schedule? :) #SolarNation
It's been 3 days...
The Solar Gamer I have crippling depression. Keep up the good work and smite Sparta!
The Solar Gamer erm three days of pain ?!?
Feeling sorry? Oh sorry that went strait out of the window.
The rivalry with Greece grows...
PIE-ne, not PAH-ne. But close enough, so great job, Ryan :)
Honestly the amount of people acting like it's been a decade since you've posted like damn people. He literally said on the first video this'll be up today.
Would really appreciate more CIV6 :)
Hah, Gilgaboss laughs at your chicken men.
Daily eps please! 😄

Great LP
Hey I am playing as Pedro right now!
i like this one when is the next coming?
She seems peaceful enough.
That "thing" is obsidian rocks poking from a board. Can't remember what it's called
nope, found it. It's called Macuahuitl
That moment when ur actually in Sparta's capital and u get kicked down a giant hole in the middle of the city by Leonidas
Didn't greece have another leader in the early build you played?
ZeeHunter511 Greece is the only Civilization with multiple leaders, Gorgo and Pericles
+Nicholas Roberts thanks
😓😓😓 I was hoping he would decide against taking out Sparta. I understand it would be easier now, rather than later, but I wanted to see an Alliance similar to the one you had during the Rome play through, with Gangis Khan. But with less back stabbing and more stability

Well, that's a shame that you can't make barbarians into builders.
What caused Gorgo's change in attitude?
Can you put campuses on resources though? Is that an option?
Grand Admiral Thrawn Gorgo changed cause Ryan didn't follow her agenda
Is there culture in this latest installment of the game? Are there city states?
Woohoo!
finalmente
More episodes sooner plzzzz
Hey what happened, why did you stop posting Civ 6 for like 3 days? Where's the daily vid? Can you post it more frequently?
It isn't a daily series. That was only for the preview build. As much as I'd love to make all of my series daily, it's just not possible.
OMG you replied!!! Wow, wait umm can you actually upload it more frequently? Thanks! I have been wait my butt off for this episode!!
Ryan wen will you continue your serie of EU4 the mamluks into Egypt
Come on he has a lot of series to do these days, the only thing that is daily now is EU4, but thats only because its with other people.
Yeah I understand, but like I once he finished EU4(BTW I don't understand that game at all XD), he can just entirely focus on Civ6.
You put it as Civ V, but for this you put it as Civ 6 not VI. Small detail that I noticed and I'm bored so I commented it.
Seeing his luck, I bet his next civ 6 game (Hopefully Germany, even if Hitler didn't appear) Will literally be in a barren wasteland and all natural wanders are in his enemies' lands.
lmao
Just so you know, the Aztec capital is pronounced Ten-oct-it-lawn. ;)
you need to settle Kilimanjaro next video and you actually should have waited for the policy that cuts production, you wasted a lot.
Make another video before I die...I had to binge watch your pre-release play through to satisfy me but now I'm done with it...I need civ 6 in me deady
then watch Drew Durnil's Emperor playthroughs :P
im so jealous, you have 9902 views on your worse off vid, my best has 1900 and 10 subs (most are rl friends)

how so?
