We'll see, personally, from what we've seen so far, if any of these other characters appear, they will probably appear as DLC one by one, slowly over time. The people making the game seem to mainly care about DBZ and DBS characters for the most part, so i'm thinking GT and OG Dragon Ball characters will most-likely just appear as DLC, slowly over time.
It's safe to say that all of the DBZ characters will be present, but not the original DB, GT, or movie characters. Just erasing those brings enough room to add all the DB Super characters they want. Honestly, it's pretty sad.
Finally someone has mentioned Beelzebub, I feel he is definitely going to be in the game with how much they're pushing Sand Land this year, could see him being a Day 1 / Pre-Order DLC if not a secret character in the base game.
I have hopes that they cut Great Saiyaman and just add him as a costume for Adult Gohan or something, idk if BT has ever done something like this but Raging Blast did so one can hope Great Saiyaman doesn't take a slot and is instead a costume, same for Videl
I guess a lot of Frieza's army will NOT come back. Also OG DB will NOT come back like Nam, Tamburin or N.8. I would like to see again What If characters like Not Canon Great Apes that were totally original of the game except for Goku/Gohan's Great Ape, Vegeta and Bardock.
I think that having missing forms would make sense, and having them as dlc. Like second form cell, second and third form frieza, or base cooler, base bojack, etc.
I feel like alot of characters that won't come back are probaly the great variations of nappa, radtiz, fasha,tutles, king vegeta and bardock. I feel their base forms will still be there but not the great apes. A lot of the movie characters.

We won't have android saga Vegeta and Buu Saga Vegeta as different characters like in BT3. We will likely have one Vegeta with his android saga armor as default, and his buu saga outfit like an alternative suit. First appereance Future Trunks will likely be cut off and just be an alternative suit for DBS Trunks for having a sword.. And Baby Vegeta's early forms will be cut off, leaving only the final form and Great Ape. The other characters that will likely be cut off are Zarbon, Dodoria, Videl, and Frieza soldier. And with this the count of cut off characters would be around 50, which seems fitting for DBS absurd amount of characters and transformations.
Not true, yall need to learn how to count. BT3 had 161 characters. Sparking Zero will only have 164 characters IN ADDITION to needing the full cast from DBS. By the time all the important enough DBS characters are added, we are looking at 50-60 characters from Super alone. This confirms that NOT everyone from Tenkaichi 3 will be returning. Characters will indeed need to be cut, enough characters to make room for the 50-60 new DBS characters that will be added. Even if all the characters that were cut in this RUclips video actually end up being cut, its STILL not enough to fit the bare minimum for DBS' inclusion (which is probably 50 characters bare minimum for DBS).

Giant forms will definitely make a return considering it was a unique and beloved form in Bt3. They haven't confirmed if its a transformation yet, but it should be considering they already have goku and vegeta with ssj transformations
I mean it’s not impossible , Super Trunk’s Super Sayian transformation could just have the move set from Z Trunks and then all the new stuff is in his new transformations. Would be a good compromise imo. Plus I’d be one of the only people using his super Fit. So I could just claim that style for myself lol
