I understand it’s chilly as but cold water has been studied+proven to help mental strength. I’m in Ireland and surf the Celtic Sea off the southern coast and the Irish Sea off the west. It’s totally normal to see dozens of people of all ages go for a winter swim and/or surf literally daily. What worked for me may not work for you but a combination of sertraline, journaling, talk therapy, some Wim Hof stuff, and surfing cold af water did so much for me. I tried to…stop living…18 months ago and my mental state was like 0 out of 10. I’ve had professional help, meds, and my board help me go from 0/10 to 8/10. It gets better mate. Comfort itself is right outside your comfort zone…challenge yourself and know there’s a random Irish girl aged 17 believing in you mate!

I think I could teach someone on such a predictable surf ranch wave but to hang on to someone who wants to jump off, that’s superhuman strength, balance and technique.

I give surfers ALL the respect. At one point an time in my life I wanted to surf. I took lessons an got decent til one day I caught a bad wave an face planted into the ocean floor an knocked myself out. Woke up to being rag dolled by waves an thankfully for me my instructor an another guy pulled me to safety. After that and a shark attack where I surfed I gave it up lol
I like this. While learning myself and teaching others how to snowboard, there's a stage where you just want to fall because it feels safer. Once you learn to ride through the sketchy parts, it becomes so dang fun!

Shes wearing a wetsuit, they're full body- I know when he grabs her by the waist it looks like its 2 pieces but thats simply because he folds the fabric as he grabs it, its 1 singular piece. Even if it were 2 pieces, a wet wetsuit has so much friction you cannot drag it off at an angle, you actually have to roll it off you as its wet. Why she keeps her mouth open I cannot fathom though, maybe her sodium levels are low 😮😊
