Well my friend. By the side of God's good grace this video helped me fix my dryer and you saved me about $400-700 bucks. God bless you and I appreciate you.
Thanks so much for doing such a great detailed video on the dryer! My bearing was completely fried and your step by step instructions were very helpful. Thanks man!
Thank you so much for this video! My pulley went bad and with your video, I was able to fix it. You made removing the control panel look easy, however, it took me almost 2 hours LOL!
Good job with the repair and making the video. You avoided that shaky, one-handed technique! A lot more helpful with good lighting and a steady camera! Many thanks.
@Starliner428: Thanks for the compliment and glad it helped! (Although looking back at this video I see quite a bit of that one-handed filming - can’t all be avoided I guess!)
Thank you for helping me fix my dryer. Exact same model and it turned out to the the idler pulley. $20.00 from Amazon. Control panel was a little hard to come off, but it did. Would have cost me a lot more for a repair person to come in.
Thanks So Much For This Step By Step Video. Took my sweet time following your instruction and mainly trying not to cut my finger on those sharp aluminum edges. Thanks Again.
Hi. Thanks for the video. I am following your tutorial. Kind of stuck at unscrewing the motor step. (7:02 minute) where you use 14mm socket to unscrew the motor bolt. The bolt is very tight seems like its got rust. Any suggestion or alternative way to get this out.
@Kirtan Patel: Thanks. Remember the threads are in the opposite direction, so that front socket wrench is going to be turned clockwise while you hold a wrench on the back side of the motor. From what I remember it does require a substantial amount of force to get it started. The longer the handle on the wrenches the better because you will have more leverage. Good luck!
Thank you. After a week of trying different things to loosen the bolt , was able to get this through and complete the replacement. Thank you for this great video
Thank you for the very helpful video. I had the exact same symptoms and it turns out that a new motor and belt tensioner pulley were the fixes. I think, as others have mentioned, that the failure starts with the pulley binding (mine was nearly stuck) causing excessive current load on the motor resulting in the burnt points in the centrifugal switch. My complaint to Samsung would be this: the control board appears to sense the overload hence the shutdown. Why not display an error code? Also, the switch would be a simple thing to replace but, of course, it is not available separately. Fortunately, I was able to get a motor on eBay at a reasonable price( less than $50).
@TheOldbikerider: Thanks for the kind words. Happy to know that it helped you. And I fully agree with your suggestions for Samsung - why not just throw an error code? Right?!? Update - 18 months later and the dryer is working like a champ…
Mine is a DV42H5000EW/A3 model and when I turn it on mines just hums I don’t hear anything trying to turn I popped off the back part of the dryer and seems like everything moves is an intact would that just be my motor?
@@lerr001jr7 : sounds like something seized up and maybe thermal protection prevents motor from turning. Start by looking at that idler pulley. That might be it. Next step would be to look at that motor switch assembly if it is burned out like mine. Otherwise not sure.
@@LongologoProductions will do - already took the dryer apart. In the past I was able to get it running by manually turning the drum then pressing start. there was a point in time also when I hit the start button it would go for a little bit like yours in the video then stop but now motor just makes a humming sound I’m no expert but I’m wondering if the motor is no good
@@lerr001jr7 : could be the same things as happened to mine: idler pulley wheel slowly seized up, putting strain on the motor and eventually burning out part of the motor switch. Sad thing is the switch assembly can’t be replaced separately as best I can tell you have to buy another motor too. Ugh. Good luck.
If you had the right parts at the start, how long did it take you to change the motor and put it back together? Great video mine is doing the same thing.
@EMC2: I honestly don’t remember. Maybe 2 hours or more. I wasn’t rushing and spent way more time filming than if I just did it without trying to record each step of the way.
nice, the part you found is literally half the price of the one on the Samsung website, I can't replace this whole piece of shit so this is the best solution I replaced the heating element on this giant smelly stupid hunk of shit 3 years ago and it's still giving me problems thank you for the cheaper part number edit: you know what's funny is the same shit happened to my AC unit a week ago, spinning it with a screw driver made it work for a couple hours, opening the top of my dryer and spinning it does the same thing. verdict: two diarrhea motors have plagued me
@solidshot1227: first you’ll have to check to make sure you put everything back together exactly in the right way, e.g., the drum roller wheels are in their tracks and the drum can rotate by hand before you close everything up, the belt is wrapped around the drum correctly and isn’t slipping, etc. basically make sure you rule out these other things before jumping to the motor. Good luck!
Hey, I’ve got a dv45h6300ew/a3 which appears to be the same model you are repairing here. Perhaps you could confirm? Do you have a link to the amazon site where you got the motor idler pulley and new belt? Either way, great video. Well explained and we’ll produced. Thanks for posting
Thank you for this. I have done all this on older machines, but nothing this new, it was very informative.
Its so refreshing to watch a video with no music playing in the background.......Thank you Longologo Productions....
@Andrew Ward: Many thanks. Background music or not, I hope the video helped you make a similar repair.

Здравствуйте. Скажите пожалуйста как исправить ошибку FE? Какие могут быть неполадки?
@Elen Studia: I am not sure. Error code “FE” seems to be a fan motor, main PCB, or fan blower fault based on some internet searching.
Thnx good mij clos water
Did you know that you could open it from the back of it was just that pulley/belt?
@Koki Ali: Easier to access the motor from the front, but still a lot of pieces to remove.
