Machiya plays a Sago guitar, it's a 33 "scale baritone with 29 frets tuned BEADF # B, if you capo at the 5th fret it becomes a 25.5" scale guitar in standard E tuning. The mask is a Noh mask from Noh theater, representing the spirit of a woman. The crack over one eye is not orginal. He uses the mask only on homura and some other instrumental songs. The Japanese name of the drums is Wadaiko (Taiko is also accepted) and is played by Kurona. The flute is a Shakuhachi (Bamboo Flute) and is played by Daisuke Kaminaga. Beni Ninangawa plays Tsugaru shamisen. Tsugaru refers to the style of play and the area it comes from. It is slightly larger and has a thicker and longer neck and is played with a large plectrum called bachi. Bassist Asa is often taken for a woman. Koto is played by Kiyoshi Ibukuro. He plays a 25 string koto. On Drums Wasabi. Shigin singer and pianist Yuko Suzuhane is the driving force and founder of the Wagakki Band. Wa = Japanese, Gakki = musical instrument. Great video! If you liked this performance of theirs, i would highly recommend reacting to “Hakushu Kassai”. That video puts great emphasis on each of the band members and the mastery of their own instruments. PS: This band not only do rock. Their music genre ranges from big band jazz to metal and a lot more in between.
Thank you for picking up my favorite Wagakki (Japanese instruments) Band. I recommend Hakushu Kassai. Their live version is always better than the studio version. A super live group with amazing technique and team work!
The Wagakki Band is made up of top-notch musicians who agree with Yuko Suzuhana (vocal / sometimes pianist)'s idea of "I want to send Japanese classical performing arts to the world more POP." "Wagakki" is a Japanese reading of Japanese musical instruments. Their Japanese musical instruments have been modified, such as by increasing the number of strings, to match the Western scale. The first thing they did was to make a cover album of songs made with the composition software "Vocaloid" that let virtual idols sing. When the music video for "Senbonzakura," which was included in the completed album, was released, it quickly attracted worldwide attention. Currently, "Senbonzakura" has been played more than 140 million times. They have already held concerts in several countries, including France and the United States, and have been very successful. In Japan as well, tens of thousands of people gather every January to hold a concert called "New Year's Party" to celebrate the New Year with fans. This time, "Akatsuki no Ito" is a song that it is customary for all the audience to sing when the audience is encore at the time of the concert. They were also selected as official ambassadors for the Tokyo Olympics 2020, but the pandemic made it difficult for them to work. Here, there is a caveat about Wagakki Band. They ended their contract with Avex in June 2019 and signed a global contract with Universal Music. For that reason, please note that if you use the MV owned by Avex other than live as it is, it will definitely be blocked.
Wow! That was a great reaction. You know these instruments - that is awesome. Also the flute instrument called "shakuhachi". Yuko's singing style called "shigin". I think Yuko - one of the best singers in the world. Of course you should check out more of their songs. You can try the familiar to everyone song "Bring me to life" in collaboration with Amy Lee from Evanescence. Thank you for your great reaction.
I think the going recommendation is to avoid music videos as they will get blocked? But you should look at Eclipse and or Sunwheel (live) by them. Really good songs. But this band is just exceptional all around.
You are probably talking about Senbonzakura, their most popular song. It's a cover. Next month they will come up with a new cover album. Maybe there hides the next best one. Some suggestions: Kagerou, Howling, Hotarubi, Synchronosity, Reload dead, Guren, Sun wheel, Ignite, Nijiro chouchou, Iroha uta, Okinotayuu, Hakushu kassai, Doppo, Tengaku, Atena no nai tegami, Eclipse, Kyoka suigetsu + Tsukini sakebu yoru, Watashi shijou shugi, Strong faith, Sasameyuki, Izana, Ikusa.. even if you grab something with closed eyes, so to speak, anything is fine. They just do all sorts of genres. instrumentals: Tono monogatari go go+ Chie no kajitsu+ Somosan seppa ruclips.net/video/wsWgZjbjXeM/видео.html Toono monogatari: Kyuuyon ruclips.net/video/hLYPvErslH8/видео.html Tomodachi ninaruyo ruclips.net/video/3wyDFmR3N_0/видео.html
@@samuraikaito No. Only the first album. The 3 full albums, 2 EPs and few singles are original music. Seven out of the eight members have composed for the band. Mainly 3-4 of them.
@@samuraikaito There's a mix of Vocaloid covers and songs written by them. On songs written by them I strongly recommend: - Sun Wheel: very rock - Queen of the night: very traditionnal They don't have a specific style and they can play everything from very pop (Appare ga Seigi, Hana ni nare) to Jazz (Synchronicity) to rock. And on some title, you can even see the singer, Yuko, doing some sword dance.
If you like fusion like this and The Hu, I highly recommend you check out Bloodywood from India! All of their songs are great, but a lot of people start with Ari Ari. Enjoy~
Thank you for your reaction to the Japanese music group Wagakki Band, it was very enjoyable. By the way, have you heard of a Japanese band called "One Ok Rock"? They have many touching songs, and their music videos often bring people to tears. If you're interested, I'd appreciate it if you could react to them as well. One of their performances you might enjoy is "We Are ~ 18Fes Ver Sub," which also has English subtitles. Thank you in advance.🎸🎸🎹🎸🎸💖💖
You’re doing all my favourite Japanese bands. 😊 Koto is Japanese, Guzheng is Chinese and Gayageum is Korean. The Guzheng tends to be larger than the Koto and Gayageum although I’ve seen some bigger Koto’s. The flute is a Shakuhachi.
this band is the definition of what if steve vai came to Wano kuni to fight Kaido 🤣 i knew this band way before wano has been started. and right when we came to wano, i was hoping that they would play the opening of One Piece. even wagakki fans at that time wanted them to play in Tokyo Olympic to represent Japan. but it such a disappointment both was never came true

Guzheng, koto and Korean gyageum are the same basic "harp" form factor, with tuning props and picks for each finger on the playing hand. Like guitars, they come in different sizes. You're right, the guitarist Machiya plays a signature custom 29-fret baritone guitar.
You can reach some notes that you normally can't play on the flute by covering the end hole with your leg. The same technique is used on the recorder
