    It's also worth noting that after your digimon dies, it'll inherit stats from its previous life. So the stronger they were/the better tamer you are, the strong they'll be once they're reborn.

    • @Kuroganemk2
      @Kuroganemk2 Год назад

      Just got it, it feels like what you should do first is just explore and mindlessly grind through 1 or 2 generations before actually starting the game lol Is that a valid strategy?

    • @Douglas628
      @Douglas628 Год назад

      @@Kuroganemk2 if you wanna rush through the game, yeah. This game is actually pretty laid back, so you can just do things on your own time and progress little by little

      from what ive understood it takes the best of every generation
      so if gen 1 has mastery in HP but all the other stats are average gen 2 will inherit a percentage of gen 1s stats.
      but if gen 2 has mastery is STR and is average in all others gen 3 will inherit a percentage of the best of gen 1 & 2.
      if this is true it would make sense as that tends to be how generational growth tends to work especially with ai programs

    • @Douglas628
      @Douglas628 Месяц назад

      @@HyperJohnua They inherit a set percentage of each stat, so how much you inherit in a particular stat will be determined on how high that stat was in the previous life cycle. There's is also a stat buff you get depending on what Egg you chose during the reincarnation.
      You can also increase how much stats you inherit by unlocking Tamer Skills.

    If you have the right skills and the setup, you can end up with In-Training digimon with the stats that Ed has with his Champions shown in the video.
    Yes, In-Training, not even a Rookie with those stats, you can have Rookies with stats of 1000s to 2000s.
    That's how big of an impact the skills are so don't worry if your digimons suck now, they WILL get better as you get better (both your Tamer skills and your actual skills)

    Digimon's evolution is much more fun than pokemon, since it depends on the stats, u really feel like u RAISED your digimon to be like that. And I think this is the BEST digimon gameplay, how a digimon game should be played. Cuz u really feel like u're controlling the tamer during battle instead just the digimon and making the tamer feels useless

    The skills system is literally what gave me the two rookies I actually wanted all along on generation 2. And I'm not disappointed, Renamon and Guilmon kick ass together, and their specials are very easy to pull off since they have comparatively slim hitboxes. Now I just have to hope I can get Growlmon as well, since his stat requirements are pretty ridiculous for a champion.
    At least Kyuubimon is easy.

  • @TheAleatoriorandom

    Really like the skills system, as you say in the video it's one more thing to give you more of a sense of progresion wich is nice in a game where you have to retrain end evolve your digimon many times. Together with the town, the recruited digimon and the inherited stats it makes the cycles less tedious and feel less like a step back.

    Very helpful! I would like to know more about how the stat inheritance works when a digimon gets reverted to an egg. I did get this game for the ps4 a long while back but never sat down to play it and Im really enjoying the fact that you're always making some sort of progress, with the town or the inherited stats so you don't revert back to zero when your digimon dies!

    Honestly hoping for a Digimon skill and combat guide. As embarrassing as it is, I can't figure out what I'm doing lol. Seems I wille wipe the floor with some digimon, but then others just don't take any damage at all, even if it says they're a lower level. Loving the guides, thanks for all the work you put into these! :)

    • @Selet101
      @Selet101 Год назад

      Simple answer is figure out what digimon are higher evolutions and learn type matching.
      Higher tier digimon take less damage with the same stats. And do more damage with the same stats.
      Each type resists a different type. It's weakness type could do 2-3k damage if not more while it's resisted type will do like 100 damage.
      So don't fight digimon that resists you(fire vs ice for example) and are more than 1 evolution higher than you (rookie vs ultimate) unless you have ridiculous stats for your type. Which would be like 3k for a rookie. 4k for champion and so forth.
      A rookie with 1-2k stats will take like 10k damage from an ultimate and only be dealing 100 or less as an example.

    I don't remember if it's in Treat type or Life-Care type but there is one really crazy, high cost skill that gives you tamer experience for every time you boost your Digimon's mood.
    You don't normally get experience for doing this, and since you generally can boost their mood significantly by feeding them their favorite food, and almost everything else you do boosts mood as well, this skill seems super broken for quickly filling out the rest of the trees.
    Another skill to consider is the bottom one in the Walker tree, I think it's called "Mind Trainer" or something, what this one does is basically allow Digimon to spend more time in areas that they dislike (For example, most non-heat Digimon does not like the Logic Volcano areas, or maybe it was just for me because MegaKabuterimon hates fire.)
    Normally, if you spend time in these areas your Digimon will randomly get sick if it "dislikes" them, this still happens with the skill, but MUCH slower, allowing you to get in, do your stuff, and get out.
    The "Gain more stats at end of battle" one is also a really welcome addition, since you can grind a lot of stats without your partners getting tired by just battling. If you fight the right Digimon it gives you almost as much stats as training but at a fraction of the cost, it will take longer in real time but the in-game clock is frozen during battles, so your Digimon's life time is unaffected.
    In the Order tree, the ability to gain more order power also sounds very good, I'm definitely going to pick it up next, since I've only started getting good with order point generation after having to take down the Chapter One end boss.

    Huge mistake made in this video is saying reverse type is good. Just so everyone here is aware to not fall into this trap, reverse type only increases stats passed down by 1% for each unlocked. DO NOT GET THIS SKILL AT ALL. You can do 1 battle and get more gains in stats than wasting 20+ skill points on that tamer skills tree.

      @@zanzazaar That will probably never happen. The core of the gameplay in this game is all in support of that Tamagotchi loop.
      If you want a Digimon RPG then the "Story" style games are what you want then. The most recent title in that (also a port of a Vita game to Switch and PC, just like this) is called Cyber-Sleuth and would likely be much more your speed.
