I used to carry my hard tools on crash bars but that risks pushing them into the bike. Use them for rain gear, chain lube, tire gauge, rope etc.

I have the backpack/tailbag - works well. I tried the crash bar bags, but the opening of the bag is smaller than the body of the bag which limited my ability to get stuff in so I returned it.
Do plan on getting the 28ltr tail bag though.
Thank you for your support. Bummer on the crash bar bags, I love them. Getting my pump and tube in one side was a chore, so I swapped to a tool kit on one side and rain gear in the other. The 28L Tail Bag is amazing for my commute when I ditch the saddlebags!
