    This is all do very inspiring 😊 Tomorrow I may ride to Segovia myself, as it's only 105 kilometers away...weather looks good 👍 came from California 4 years ago and have been living in Spain! A great place to travel with a motorcycle. Would have been great to meet you. Good luck in Morocco, riding the sand there is just a complete incredible separate experience!!

    I see where your coming from, I tested the tiger 1200 and 900 back to back and ended up buying the 900, it had plenty enough power and a lot lighter than the 1200…it’s a great bike, looking forward to the next episode, keep up the great work..

I ride a Tiger 900 GT myself and I get all your points - the positives and negatives, even the 200km threshold for seat comfort 😊. Great job and I look forward to enjoying the rest of the episodes! Ride safe. P.S. Greetings from the Philippines

    Great comparison re: weight and engine size. I've been fortunate to own1 x 955, 3 x 800, 1 x 900 and 2 x 1200 tigers in various forms and tbh (and 1 x AT adventure sport, big mistake, don't ask - rusting frame) the 1200 were great bikes, but I much prefer the 800/900's and like you, my current bike a 900 rally pro is plenty good enough for all round use. My playground is the English Lake District and covers everything from Hardknott and Wrynose passes to major A roads and my Tiger takes them all in its stride. Stay safe, ride safe.

    I ride my 900 Rally Pro on green lanes at least once per week. The 900 Rally Pro is also fabulous for long distance touring and a 1-hour commute to the office. I tested the 1200 Rally Pro in a quarry with gravel, rocks, wide open spaces, and steep climbs; the 1200 was incredibly stable but gave me no additional usable performce offroad. Plus, at 170cm height, I couldn't touch my left toe to the ground with my right foot on the peg & brake. I suppose I could learn to slide my bum completely off the seat and hold myself on with my hamstring to touch the ground with the opposite leg, but I can't imgine myself routinely recovering on a slippery green late without being able to reach the ground with either leg. My test rides of 1200 Rally Pro and other brands like the 1250 GS convince me that the 900 Rally Pro is the perfect bike for me.

    I like the style of analyzing. Where you think it fits in the ADV bike range is correct. It's about if you feel like there's enough bike to make you smile most of the time.

  • @raa8201
    @raa8201 2 года назад

    Triumph-"What do you need to go off-road?" Me-"Get rid of that stupid 23* rake on the front forks!" While it makes for a great street bike, 23* rakes make off-roading a lot more work. That's hard on a 60 year old man. I have an 800xc, am looking to purchase a new Adv bike, and Triumph is low on my list because of this. I've heard numerous Tiger owners here in the States complain about this......numerous! Hope Triumph reads this, because they're losing lots of future customers because of it.
    Other than that....Love you videos. Looking forward to this series. You go girl!

    • @rkrutilekcz
      @rkrutilekcz 2 года назад +1

      If you read the tiger rp.manual page 147 and 153, you will finde out thst with the off roud setting the bike changing geometry and changing rake. It's getting close as is can to dirt bike setting. That's where is this bike amazing. But nobody talking about that and Triumph did very poor marketing. My dealer didn't know about that either. I find out on my trip to England where I visited Triumph headquarter.

    Own a MY20 Rally Pro, great bike and you're spot on about the power 😀
    You definitely need the under seat USB charger if you use the Triumph App for navigation, it chews up the phone battery.
    The upper roll cage is next to useless, dropped my bike on a low speed front wheel slip in gravel. The cage scratched and dented the left side of the fuel tank 😒

    Great video Vanessa! Your sassy comments and the banter between the two of you is quite entertaining.
    Please please please can you tell me the brand and model of that DIN to USB adapter (can't catch that in the video)? All the straight shaped ones I tried don't fit the placement of the front DIN port between the key socket and the steering column. Yours would seem to do the trick with the L shape. Thank you!

It looks pretty similar to it. Hope that helps

    • @marcosalis5240
      @marcosalis5240 11 месяцев назад

      Thanks a million! I just got a '22 Tiger 900 Rally Pro so this video was spot on for me, interesting to compare my impressions with yours. I gotta say the DIN port situation is a bit iffy (they added USB ports in the 2024 model). The power isn't cut when the ignition is off so you either need an adapter with an off button, or to remove it every time you leave the bike for the night (which I don't like). Otherwise you risk draining the battery.
      And I agree with you on that phone compartment under the seat being completely and utterly nonsense. Most uncomfortable position to hold a phone, ever!
      Another big big problem on this model is the tyre pressure sensors. They can't be customized or disabled from the dashboard, so if you deflate the tyres for offroading you constantly get the sensor alert. Ah, Triumph.

    Ok I got a question. I am a bit on the heavier side and 158kg. 6 feet tall. Obviously a Honda cb500x would be too small and tiger 900 might need springs to be stronger. So, say the Africa twin, tiger 1200 rally pro, 1250 gs adventure, how much spring compression is too much for the bike to tell me I need stronger springs? 25mm? 50mm drop? Rider only, no luggage.

    • @TheIdlesurfer

      I'd strongly suggest the Outbackmotortek ones. I took the originals off, and they were flimsy. I've gone outbackmotortek bash plate and engine guards, along with pannier frames from the same stable. I do take my 900 Tiger off road and have put DoubleTake mirrors on too. My enthusiasm regularly outstrips my talent and these things make dropping my lovely Tiger less heart breaking. I've also twatted my leg on hard boxes on the 900. I foolishly presumed on a bigger Adv bike I'd be less likely to get into difficulty, as I wouldn't be stupid enough to get into bother. I overestimated my intelligence. My 900 has pretty well the same set up as my dual sport 701.

  • @wesheiser9429

    Looking at your accessories around 8:50 in the video. GOOD: you have the new style tank guard. NOT GOOD: if you hit a rock hard against the default sump guard you will dent the guard and crack the sump case, terminating your tour. The extremely sturdy Touratech sump guard designed for the Tiger 900 fits perfectly even with the attached Triumph engine guard and tank guard bars. NOT GOOD: the default mirrors will impare the range of our arm movement while offroading. The Tiger 800 style mirrors on the 900 give more arm room, and better yet foldable mirrors offroad will be much better. Possible recommendation: if you jump your bike, the default 900 windscreen will hit you in the throat when you land. (Quite dangerous actually.) Either don't jump the bike when riding offroad or replace the default windscreen with a short screen by Powerbronze and mount a foldable windscreen extension on top of the Powerbronze.

    In the '60s and '70s the U.S. was cris-crossed by intrepid boomers on every sort of bike. Choppers were particularly popular but gass stations were more numerous so being range restricted by a 3.5 gallon tank wasn't the problem it is today.
