Columns orientation depends upon bending moments of frame, pls mention this in video. Also mention due to moment , about which axis bending moment occurs more, this will be the clear way to make others understand I think

Hello, Are 12 mm 4 bars and 10 mm 2 bars enough in a 9*15 column..? The column to column distance is 15 feet. How many storeys can be built with this much reinforcement..?
We cannot simply say the reinforcement details without calculating the loads. We have to calculate the loads coming on the structure and then design the structure accordingly.

100% clear by watching major and minor axis , thank you maam. if 4 beam crossing 1 column ,in that any one of the beam have max bending moment . In that direction of beam we have to orient column perpendicular to major axis direction correct ?
The axis which is perpendicular to depth of the column is major axis and the axis which is parallel to the depth of the column is minor axis. Column Orientation - larger face for large moment Please refer the below link for more details about major and minor axis ruclips.net/video/cUsswRb3duU/видео.html
Thanks for this useful and important information about column orientation. Plz make a video to clearly understand placing of main bars whether to provide in shorter dimension or longer dimension of column. For example how to place 6 nos 12 mm bars for a column of 230 mm x 380 mm
Is it okay if we dont have all the columns in same line ? As we can see few columns not in line in this video, will it cause any issues in load balancing?
Always it is good to have columns in line but practically it is difficult to have all columns in same line since we have to locate the column as per architectural drawing. We have to make proper framing plan in order to distribute the loads safely. Load transfer mechanism - slab to beam, beam to column, column to footing. Please refer the below link ruclips.net/video/AJG1Jix8NDk/видео.html
Axis of bending is perpendicular to the beam length. Therefore if column depth is parallel to beam length then column depth is perpendicular to axis of bending. Hope the doubt is clear
Thank You Mam, A little suggestion for ur next video, u should also take values for explaining, ex. In this u should had taken the dimension of the column. Secondly I have a question maybe u can explain in ur future video that what should be the orientation of the column when the beam is resting on all it's 4side?
Larger face of column for larger moments.major axis is perpendicular to the depth of the column and minor axis is parallel to the depth of the column. If the column is in horizontal direction the axis of bending is in the direction of major axis. If the column is in vertical direction the axis of bending is in the direction of minor axis. @@CivilEngineeringMastery okk from the view point of moment of inertia, about axis of bending M.I must be large to resist the bending And if the column is in horizontal direction then axis of bending will be perpendicular to depth of column so M.I will be greater Is it correct..!!!
No clarity about bending..We apply load in x axis but why it is bending about y axis ...It should bend only the direction in which we applied load ...But why it is bending in other direction.you are giving wrong information about bending and making students more confusing about bending axis w..r to the applied load ...
Thanks for your explanation. I think the easiest way to orient column is to place larger dimension in longer span for structural stability.
If there will be best video nomination award on RUclips. surely my vote will go to these two videos....
The Best video ....

Clear and simple explanation to understand column orientation. Well done. Appreciated.
Mam which software you are using for presentation (to make)
Thank you Very well explained mam. Video was so helpful please provide us more helpful videos on structural analysis🙏🙏🙏

Is it meant for local orientation to global orientation ?
Thank you Mrs ..stay blessed 👸
You are welcome.
These are too helpul lectures thanx alot.
Most welcome!
Very useful madam. Keep it up.
Can you explain how you are taking the sizes of beams and columns
Bro do understand now how to take column and beam sizes if you do please share
Very Good Explanation mam
Ma'am I live in Mumbai. I have project in Final year... I'm planning to degin a building.. but from where to start I don't know
Hello Mam,
Good Afternoon.
How can I take your advice/services for a residential construction, undergoing to start soon.
Thanks.

What about stability when lateral loads acts
Thank you for the video.
I am still not sure about corner columns. Which wall the column should be directed to?
Larger face of the column should be in the direction of larger span.
Can you tell me how to take column steel if minor axis per to the depth of column
Please refer sp-34 column section P.no.87
What is the role of major and minor axis? And..if larger face of column for larger moment .what should happen?
It helps in orientation of columns.
Even I did not get the MOI in the college. Now I have understood.
What about the footing?
very nice mam
Can we change the orientation of columns in upper floor due to architectural requirements
This change in orientation affects the load transfer mechanism of the structure. It is better to avoid.
Civil Engineering Mastery okay thanks
Welcome.
Kux kux beam toh apna load he transfer thik s nhi karega column p
Which software is this?
Thank you Maam😎,
How simple u made to understand tis concept👌
Thank you.

what is thickness of columns for three storeys residential, 14 m x 21 m?
Explaining well
Upload its detail designing calculation of slab, beam, column, & footing base would be same drawing
Hi ma'mm i need help from you please help me
Ma'am can we change orientation of column at first floor
No. it is not advisable
I want to study about coloumn orientation mam just send me note on details...
