As we know columns are the compression members of a building structure and play an important role in transferring the load from superstructure to substructure. That's why these members should be casted properly by using good quality material and with great care to maintain the stability of the structure for long run.

INFORMATION IS WEALTH. THANK YOU FOR EDUCATING ALL SIR
Wow galing. Marami akong matutunan sayo sir, thank you.
I commend your effort to give young engineers quick fix. But please note that the higher you go, the lower the load (as the foundation then the ground floor carries the bulk of the load). So without analysis or design, the size of your columns and area of reinforcements should reduce as you ascend using "rule of thumb".
आपका बहोत धन्यवाद सर, इतने सरल तरीकेसे ग्राफिक्स के माध्यम से समझाने के लिये. आगे ओर भी ग्राफिक्स के माध्यम से व्हिडिओ बनाईयेगा सर
I was searching for exactly this. Very informative and well explained! Thank you very much 🙏

Which best software for str designs e tab are stadpro ?
what i understand this video guide builder for choosing column size and rebar for typical house construction, which is base on typical normal dead load and live load related to the house, its does't matter how big the house eg; 1000sqft or 2000sqft just follow the column distance and follow the size and rebar, it still safe within that parameter, another word, it easy guide line for diy house build. and i consider u chooses the size of column base on maximum load.
Just subscribed from the Philippines! Keep on Vlogging and God bless.
Very good news and good analysis.
Are this sizes complete columns massed with concrete mixture or naked steel?
Thank you for sharing . The information is very important
Glad it was helpful!
Sir, I have 10"/10" columns with 12' span . Beam size 10"/8" (b/h) + 5" slab . beams are (4+2) of 16mm 4 No's + 12mm 2nos bars. I have gone for 6' cantilever expansion and over it complete cover construction of (6") wall with window & all. At the end of expansion there is a hanging scartain of 30" height ( 4.5" thick). And a balcony of 7'/11' in the middle portion. The building has completed 20 years Gf & 8 years 1st floor. The size of the building is roughly 44 / 47'.
Sir will it be safe . please advice.
I ain't a civil engineer but I can say 6' of cantilever expansion is possible but with proper engeneering .

In a plot of 20'x30' a) how many columns are required b) what will be the maximum distance between columns and what will be the columns size. It will be à great help if you reply shortly. Thanks.
6 columns at 15x14feet (14 feet along the 20 feet side of the plot) and use the remaining 6 feet for stairwell and balcony on cantilever beams and slab, if you wanna build multi storey.
Are you serious? How much easier of an explanation do you want that you cant figure out 6 fucking simple columns are required. WATCH THE DAMN VIDEO EXPLAINED FOR KINDERGAERTEN LEVELS!
Good explanation jee
If the suggested column measures 9" x 9", can we use 14" x 6" instead?
6" is too small. Have 9" min
No as the compressed pressure will be distributed differently or weaken.
Which coloum take more load circular r squar
Circular columns are strong in comparison to square columns of same cross-sectional area.
Circular columns are strong but it is little hard to cast
Nice ,questions ,but I'm thinking to my knowledge square columns are more realable then those round columns. On another hands it s the rebar that matters as long as you respect the spacing of pour on them.
If there's black soil upto 25mt in depth, then what to consider either footie or piling foundation
4 bar (20mm) is best for g4
